The owner is a very nice guy! I had a trailer full of scrap metal that was unloaded using a magnet quickly, I didn’t have to anything other than backing up my trailer. There were also some items at the yard that got my attention, the owner was nice enough to let me buy them at scrap price.

If you are desperate for cash I suggest going anywhere else. Or if you’re coming from a distance, won’t be worth it. I have taken about the same amount of the EXACT SAME ITEMS to another center and it was no where near what they paid.. I only went this place because it was the only place still open and it was a hard enough time getting a ride into Albuquerque.. staff was super friendly though… 🫤

You have to watch them very closely. If you take ten bags of cans in there, they'll hide 5 of them from you And then charge you half price.Because they found handful of leaves in the cans, literally mulberry leaves. But if you're desperate, they are open a little bit later than other places. 5 stars for the metal side guys 1 star for the copper brass and can guys.

So I went here today after reading comments of people saying this place pays to recycle cardboard. well, as their website says they do. Wellwe pulled in, and a guy came out and asked us what's up, so my boyfriend asked him how much he paid for cardboard. Before my boyfriend even finishes his sentence, the man cuts him off and says we don't pay you for the cardboard.""Well, I suggest you all make that clear on your website as well as stop allowing your customers to mislead people in the comments. There is only 1 place in albuquerque that does pay you for cardboard, and that's towns recycling. But they are not open today like they say they are supposed to be. So I'll be leaving a bad review for them as well!!

Every other shop has ripped me off or tried to rip me off. Earth Day has never screwed me over. I always refer people to them for selling their scrap. EDIT: My truck died in their yard last time I went to sell scrap and they gladly helped me get it going again. Good people!

Worst recycling place I've ever been to. If you go. Keep an eye on the weight of the scale they will mess up. And after there done sorting up the mess they gave the lowest price for metal. Save your time and go down the street to any other recycling place.

Capital recycling pays you for what you take earth day pays you only half the weight you take as scales are off Las Vegas is not do not go to earth day as they will only pay you half the weight you take of anything as they put something under scale so people don’t get paid the full amount only half the amount they get paid for had well over 80 pounds of aluminum

Hands down, The best scrap yard I've been to in NM. Top dollar paid. I'm an electrician so I scrap all types of wire on a regular basis. If you go elsewhere, your giving your money away

I've been selling to earth day since they first opened around 2005 ish. I could be off a year or two but hands down Javier will always pay the top price in town for whatever your selling. I don't trust any other place in town straight up

I went with a friend and according to him they pay decent money for scrap metal. They weigh your truck and trailor when you get there and before you leave. It seemed pretty quick and the guys that worked there were cool enough. First time I been to a scapyard so take that into consideration if you read this review.

We usually have pretty good experiences here. They are very friendly and help us unload soda cans from our truck bed. We sometimes get an unhappy person, but that’s rarely the case. The thing that kind of annoys me is that they close at 2:00 on Saturday and they’re closed on Sunday. That sucks, because the weekend is the only time we can take our soda cans.

Fast, great folks working here. I have been using this place for a couple of years and I am pleased and will continue with Earth Day.

Excellent place to do business. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. They get you in and out fast. They don't waste your time. That's important to me. Prices they pay are competitive with the other recycling businesses. If you are going to scrap anything this is the place. Keep up the good work.

Love being able to drop off cardboard that otherwise fills up my bin! I can drive my truck right over and dump it in and head out without worrying too much about my tires either.

We usually do business with another small company but Earth Day is more friendly, helpful and we like doing business with them. Everyone's experience with them is different. When you go to places like this you have to know what the market is willing to pay for certain items. We always check to see what items will be paid better for. So far, Earth Day has been good to us and I appreciate them.

I too was given tin price for a bunch of cast iron, and when confronted, was told its the same price anyways so. Hmm. 3 stars for convenience with the scales...most likely will go elsewhere in the future.

Went on a Saturday to drop off some metal since they are open till 2pm and i can never make it durring the week as my job won't allow me too. Normally this place is full of great people but today they chose to not follow the hours for a Saturday now i have a bed of material i can't unload for another two weeks because they decided not to follow the hours they said they would be open.

Nobody says that you have to take the money u can look to see how much they're giving you for it . all you got to do is tell him that you don't want it for that price and then take it back and go somewhere else nobodys forcing you to take the money its not their fault that your not paying attention

First, I called and politely asked if they accept power cords (with plastic/copper.) They politely said, "Yes." Well I brought them a 10 pound, heavy duty trailer power cord and they paid me for the weight in ALUMINUM. This cord had ZERO ALUMINUM IN IT. It is a COPPER cord. I understand that it will be worth less than pure, raw copper but IT IS NOT ALUMINUM. This place is a scam just like every other recycling place in this god forsaken town. LIARS...Earth Day Recycling are a BUNCH OF LIARS. $.80 cents is all they gave me for a ten pound COPPER cord. Be careful, these people WILL SCREW YOU OVER.

Always go here. They buy cardboard and escrap which a lot of places do not. I have found that prices vary considerably by location. Rio Rancho being the worst and South Valley / Broadway locations best. I am closer to the North Valley so they are more convenient and pretty comparable. I like the smaller atmosphere and feel like I am supporting a local business instead of a giant corporation. Check into how many recycling companies there are in NM and how many are owned by the exact same company. I appreciate always being thanked for doing business with them, their people helping unload my truck, and their knowledge in non ferrous metal. I also enjoy that there is hardly ever a wait time. That doesn't mean they are not busy, they are just efficient and know time is money.

This place is great, friendly helpful staff and great service. I have lived in Albuquerque 45 years and by far the fairest deal in town, it was worth the 30 drive for me. 😄

These people are dishonest! They need to be checked out! Bring in cast iron and they give you prices for tin! Usually a water heaters brings $15-$20 per unit because of weight and this morning I took in two and was given $7.20. A couple months ago I brought a 180lb cast iron furnace and was given $3.65. I'm sure they don't do this to everyone but, they are scamming and this needs to be stopped!

Rude! I called to ask just 3 questions for my science class and the guy said he didn't have time for this and hung up on me. If he didn't have time maybe he could have referred me to someone else. Maybe he could have taken my information and called me when he did have time. You don't have to hang up on a kid that cares about the environment!
