Quick service and they took all of my iron and steel so it didn’t have to end up in the landfill.

I always knew this place gives you the lowest price but I go anyway because they're close. Play paid me $4 each on the batteries just take them to Morco battery or any other battery place still pay you 10 each minimum

Terrible rude workers/owner. Stopped and asked if they took scrap metal, we have boxes full in the truck. He said no go away. Don't waste your time here.

First time at this facility and definitely last. service was horrible every other place helps you unload scrap metal and these guys just watch.

Just went here, took cans, a truck load of cans. wouldn't give an answer to what they pay per pound. But acknowledged they have the best price then any other place in town. It was a lie. They paid us .50cents. When other places showed .60 to .70 cents. What a rip off. Don't believe them. Then they say they can't give you more cause the computer sets the price. The workers guarantee higher prices so you stay and then get ripped off. Worst place to ever go. Never again.

Terrible experience! At least 3 workers are just standing around chatting while 1 guy tries to keep up with at least 5 customers. Then, I got ripped for the weight of my load!

We visited Acme Recycling with metal from a worn-out trampoline, including springs and rails from a kid's bed, as well as a garage door motor. They offered us two cents per pound for the metal and sixteen cents per pound for the motor, which amounted to a total of $5.10. This was a better option for us, as we would have been charged $5.25 and had to travel further to dispose of the items at the dump. The facility had four helpful workers, and we were in and out within 10 minutes. Overall, it was a convenient and cost-effective solution for recycling our metal items.

Three stars is generous in my opinion. The employees were kind though I can't tell if they are lacking passion or if they are being overworked and understaffed. My husband and I had been saving any and all metal from our renovation and spring cleaning. Two full truckloads. Mind you- yes it was mixed metal although we did know that a few of the pieces are high dollar. Such as my husband's titanium motorcycle muffler. The employees had tried to convince us that the muffler was stainless steel until doing a spark test. (Titanium sparks white). The employee helping us had suggested that we take the muffler to their 2nd street location to sell it. (At that location they have a spectrometer). We asked for it back, which they obliged. For all of the metal we brought we only revived $7.97 Arriving at the location we had reasonable expectations. Obviously we weren't going to make hundreds or thousands off of our two truckloads but we HAD anticipated atleast double digits. Aside from my complaints, the positives are that atleast for us- it is not a far drive. Its a convenient location to drop off metals if you are simply planning to get rid of them. Although if you are planning on Selling or making some money off of your scrap. I would suggest other locations. The other positives are the employees. They were kind and did their best to service the influx of sellers at their location. Only two individuals for an entire center. One employee lent us a magnet to sort though our hoard.

This place is a rip off, pays less than market doesn't show the tare weight and asks you to empty bags before weight is taken so it is too much hassle to change your mind. Would rate it less than one if I could.

They do not accept glass or household batteries like AAAs or AAs, which I was trying to get rid of. I think New Mexico has stopped accepting glass for recycling, as the drop site I usually go to by Lowe's on Juan Tabo has pulled all the glass bins and there was a sign saying that they have it at the Albertsons on Academy, but when I went there and drove all the way around the building, there were no bins anywhere. Luckily, another lady ahead of me told me I could go take my batteries to a site for hazardous waste on Edith between Montaño and Osuna. Waste of my time driving there and they don't answer their phones so that I could ask ahead of time.

Only people that don't know what they are supposed to get paid are okay here. I'm from the south valley. There's the one by you'll on the same side of the street. Those guys seperate your metal the correct way. And they also pretty for small electric motors. Plus cardboard. They are good and know how to conduct a business. Just don't be a minute after 4:00pm they are closed. How i got to acme, they were still open, this place. Acme, sure pay if you want only half of what you should get. Go for it. The had is with the trip to the south valley.

Customer is not that great. I think they forget business forget they need us to stay alive. I recommend going to a different scrap yard. Acme on 2nd has better price, most of the time good customer service but they are owed by the same people. GO COPPER!

So nice, so helpful. Even tho I have been away because of Covid. I come back, they are better than ever. Keep up the good work!

If you're looking to make money from scrap, this is NOT the place (and good luck getting much anywhere else either). If you're looking to responsibly dispose of scrap metal and other recyclable materials and get a little bit of cash to help make it worth your while, this is your place. Parking lot was easy to access from the road and as soon as I pulled in an attendant came over to ask what I had and get a reckoning of the load size. He drove the forklift right to the trunk of my van which made it easy to unload into the weighing container he provided. This was easy and convenient. He brought the load over to the scale, weighed it, and printed a receipt. I then took the receipt to an ATM-type machine that dispenses payment. No issues with machine or the payment (paltry though it was). HERE IS MY MAIN ISSUE AND THE REASON FOR 3 STARS: I would have given four or five but I take issue with the attendants designation of my scrap as steel and not a stainless steel. Stainless steel is determined to be so with a slight magnetic pull. I tested this at home and indeed my scrap had a slight magnetic pull and by all other indicators was stainless steel. The attendant used a magnet also to do the same test and determined that it was not stainless. I dispute this determination either because the attendant was dishonest, clueless, or used a bad magnet. I wasn't going to argue because at the end of the day it wasn't a fortune I would get anyway so I let it be and just accepted what I got. Not a huge thing, but it was a drawback to the experience. There you have it folks, save the earth and recycle!

I agree with most of these reviews, something is just not right here. Very little money for alot of cans and other scrap aluminum. The one bright spot was the staff was friendly and helpful, (the reason for the 1 star they got.) For alot of us on the far east side it is the closest place but from now on I'll plan better and make the trip out to the south valley.

I didn't ask how much aluminum was but in the past I got $2 and change for my 1 Barrel of cans and today I got $1.20 I should have asked but didn't but it should be posted daily the price of aluminum but its not and the guys dont tell you cuz there to busy finishing the conversation while dealing with customers guess I'll have to find some where else to sell dirty soda cans and other aluminum

Was there at 12pm. When they should be open and no one was there and the gates were locked. I waited around for 30 minutes before giving up and leaving.

As there really isn't any other competition for aluminum recycling in this area of Albuquerque of course the owners are going to take advantage of the fact that people in the far Northeast heights are not going to want to haul their cans to the other edge of the city just to save a few bucks.

I almost never experience what other people go through after reading bad reviews. I like that ATM looking thing where you scan the barcode that they give you and then you get money from it. The staff are friendly, but they can stand to be more helpful.

Been here several times, they are very fair and honest, I've never left this place with less than 80 bucks in my pocket. Thanks guys, it's nice having an honest recycler to take my scraps to.

I was going to take a load of aluminum there but a friend changed my mind saying Acme pays the worst and sometimes is not open. He said to go to Earth Day or Pueblo metals. Earth Day rates were better and they were helpful. Just a longer drive.

THIS PLACE WILL RIP YOU OFF! We will not be returning! Last week we took 300'+ of #2 copper wire in and thought our load was rather shy of what we typically could expect. We understand rates fluctuate and being we have been in this industry for many moons, we have also come to learn how to average a load based on current rates. $23.70 (kids fair money) was a shock compared to the avg of $60-$80+ on what we expected this size load would bring. However, at that time we took it as a loss, threw in a little extra, and still made the best of Dollar Day at the fair. Today however, really put it into perspective. We have 1/3 (or less) of the load we brought in last week, just some remnants left from a decom. We decide today to call around in hopes of finding better rates. Find them down in the S. Valley and decide to make the trip. You do the math... $33.00 for 1/3 of a $23.70 load, and guaranteed the weight was not accurate at Acme seeing the differences in both loads! Never again Acme! You burned our kids essentially in the end, because that day, that money was promised for the fair!

Very helpful service. Their weights were right on. I got a very good price per pound on a large order. I definitely will come back. Thanx.

Rip - Off Alert. I have recycled for many years and know how to sort scrap metal. The gentlemen dumped everything into one big bin and said it was all steel. It wasn't. I questioned it and they insisted it was steel - even the aluminum tubing. Once in the bin, there was no way to prove which things were mine. So, I earned a whopping $00.62.

I had five different types of metal, I filled up one of their trash cans with aluminum cans, while I was filling the other cans with other metals, they weighed the aluminum cans. I watched them weigh everything else but when I got my pay slip, it only showed three pounds of aluminum. Really? A full trash can of crushed cans? I've never had a problem with the location on north 2nd street. I should have listened to the other reviewers of this location. It's not about the money, it's the principal. Never again.
