This place has the potential to be an amazing thrift store. They just need more inventory. If each person would donate 1 or more items we could help the community and clean out unwanted items they say 1 man's trash is another man's treasure. Come on people let's work together and make this a great store.

Not sure why this didn't show up in my search of local resale shops, but a great local resource. No clothes but lots of household goods. Super friendly and very helpful staff!

Awesome place to find some good used furniture. Got a nice table from here- lots of sales too. Most items are discounted. Had a little issue fitting said table into my car. I didn’t get their names but two of the kindest and funniest gentleman came out with some tools to help us get it in my car. Thank you both!

We were just in there, started shopping, and my son choked on his remaining bite of chicken nugget- from catching a quick bite in the car after sitting patiently during my work day. My husband went back in, to retrieve our eldest from the bathroom, as we made a swift exit out of respect for the other shoppers. Choking toddlers isn’t quite a scene for anyone. Instead of inquiring about the situation, they were gossiping about what terrible parents we were, bringing a sick child into the store. Over a chicken friggin nugget. I’m glad I’m not reliant on the world’s shallowest group of individuals had my son not been able to clear his airway, for any assistance beyond wasting space and being the public image for a resourceful place for many families. We’ve shopped there for many renovation projects, and this store’s staff couldn’t have killed that anymore than they did.

As compared to Iowa Restore, This one had pretty high prices on cabinets and vanity

Had a wonderful experience. I got a nice dresser 50% off today worth the trip to find nice stuff.

Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse and The Restore…. Amazing hard working employees and volunteers. They are always friendly and helpful. Not only can you find Items you might need for your home or next project, the amazing thing’s Habitat does for their community. Stop in and shop, or bring your items you want to donate, even drop off your cans you don’t want to take back.

They sell the same stuff i was trying to give to them so that someone else could use it in there home when they couldn't afford anything else. They came in to pick up and passed on everything. Just don't bother calling them for pickups they will most likely pass when they get there. Terrible company.

Love this place! Can't beat the prices and cool stuff. Need paint, random lumber, furniture or tiles? They have it. Loads of house project items.

Wow! You just never know what you'll find! If you need furniture, framed art, or lighting, maybe check here first because they could sure use support for the good work Habitat for Humanity does. They also need volunteers. During the pandemic they've had a hard time staying open because there just aren't enough volunteers. It's all donated goods, so think of donating here if you are getting rid of furniture. Good people. Good cause. And you get a good deal on good, useful items. Not a place to find clothes or bedding. Occasional construction and yard work items.

Was just in here while the pest control was spraying chemicals into the air. Then the staff started yelling, "We're closing in 5 minutes! We don't get paid for overtime..." it was 10 minutes to 5. Then they yelled again they were closing and someone said, "Get out." I left at 4:56. Aside from the overwhelming pest chemicals, being made to feel unwelcome was enough for me to get out and not come back. I mean, who says that?!

TLDR; nice Restore, nice people, PLEASE DONATE! 65% furniture, 25% construction supplies, 10% home goods. Good selection of kitchen cabinets for a restore. PROS: They do good community works. Cashiers are friendly. Lots of open space to shop. Live edge hardwood tops. Priced reasonable for northern locals in need. CONS: Limited weekly hours make it a bit difficult on working people, but not a huge problem. This location often has very limited inventory; even before the pandemic. They might want to consider expanding into some general home goods to fillout the shelves? PLEASE DONATE PEOPLE! This place needs your donations more than Greedwill.

Great place for furniture - I got a great, brand new couch from here for $40 and they even delivered it to my home! They also have anything you could want for construction - doors, cabinets, fixtures, tiling, etc.

People in the show room are fabulous. The people in the warehouse are, to put it gently, worthless. I an comparing this to a restore in Fishers Indiana I usually visit. If The Fishers staff are wondeeful both in the front and the back of the store.

Seems like their policies for intake aren't consistent with their stated purpose. I'm sure there are reasons - but staff should just speak the truth instead of spouting excuses like "things need to be new and in the box". Kinda confusing when the online information says their purpose is to encourage people to reuse gently used items to benefit the community and keep items out of the landfill - and then they don't take the items because they're not new and in the original box. Huh?

The store policies that are enforced for safety are severely over extreme. No returns. No drop offs without a mask even when you are in your own vehicle with no one around? The employee refused our drop off stating a false reason I assume because I didn't have my mask on. Goodwill was right around the corner to donate to, even though I would rather support Habitat for Humanity.

TREATED POORLY TWICE IN TRAVERSE CITY. WILL NOT GO BACK 1ST Returned $100 of product. Management would only give us a $50 credit - written & initialed on a 1" post-it note. 2ND - TODAY - Tried to use the credit - manager didn't know the initials on credit, said "that's not how we do things", asked for the employees description from a year ago, told us we had to spend the credit - today. We were humiliated and made to feel like liars. We LEFT the credit on desk & WILL NOT GO BACK. We enjoy employees and the atmosphere at the other Restores. We will NOT visit TS store again.

Great place for some unique finds. Perfect for the DIY remodeler or regular thrift store patron. Prices comparable to similar outfits. Good selection of reclaimed wood, right up front. Staff has been friendly and helpful. Recommended for the occasional treasure hunt.

Great place to go for... Well everything. Flooring, furnature, tools, paint and stuff you didn't know you needed until you saw it. Check out slabs of hardwood with live bark edges, very cool.

They've got some nice stuff but they charge too dollar in the beginning. It gradually steps down to 75% off eventually. The staff is for the most part good with some rude some nice. Got some nice stuff over there years worth checking out.

Have shopped here many times. Always find something I could use while there. Love that they have special sale days like half off all appliances, etc. The only dissatisfaction I’ve had on a product I purchased from there was a electric stove that quit working shortly after I got it, but that’s a risk you take when buying used and overall I think it’s been worth it.

Hit and miss. Some stuff way over priced some stuff priced amazingly. Great place for little things for projects. But beware it is ice ice cold inside... I had to go outside two times to heat up lol.

Miss Donna is the absolute best! Her staff shines every day, by helping people in and out of their store. I thank them so much.

Very friendly and helpful. Pretty inexpensive too! Hubby was very excited about the rough sawn lumber, which had some extremely beautiful, unique and fairly priced pieces. We will definitely be making another trip back.

I love this store. It can be a hit or miss, but inventory changes regularly (especially in the summer), so I try to take a quick walk through every week or two. They occasionally have sales as well. I recently bought two interior doors ($5 a piece), a set of French doors in great condition ($80 for both and frame), and a dinner table ($22). This is a great place if you're looking for a furniture project. Go in with an open mind because a coat of paint can make someone else's trash look like a million bucks! I haven't had great experience with some of the people working the cash register. A bit clueless and unhelpful, but the guys that delivered my things were AMAZING. Extremely helpful and kind. As a young woman, I never felt uncomfortable. They went out of their way to open up my garage door for me (it needs to be opened up manually), they put everything in the garage nicely, and then locked up the garage for me before they left. Based on the interactions I've had directly in the store, I wasn't expecting much out of the delivery guys, but they exceeded my expectations. I will continue to shop at the TC Habitat for Humanity with regularity. It's great!
