Revising my review from 5 star to 1 star. I called on a part for my car, the woman who answered was rude and wanted payment up front for a part they normally stock. I have NEVER had to pay up front for a part they normally stock. NEVER. So went to O Riely's who were far more freindly and professional.
Okay so I have come to this location before and I actually felt like an inconvenience when it was a battery issue with one of the employees. When I came today with a wiper issue and needing it replaced because it was that bad for safety something broke. Gavin is the one who helped and that is one really good employee with a great attitude. Definitely didn't make me feel like an inconvenience and actually showed me how to do it with the instructions and everything helping me understand it. It is windy. It is cold out. Definitely keep that one and give him a raise.
Had a coolant issue just before a 3.5h trip back home. Staff was very insightful, and without hesitating, walked me to my car and started helping out. 100% got me home safe thanks to spot on advice.

I had such an amazing experience at the AutoZone in Traverse City thanks to the store manager, Michael D. He went way above and beyond to help me replace the battery on my Mercedes GLK350 — a task that’s definitely not straightforward. We even had to pull up a YouTube video together to figure out how to remove the battery cover!
What stood out most wasn’t just his knowledge and patience, but how empowering the experience was. As a woman, I’ve often felt that car care stores weren’t “for me.” But Michael changed that completely. He made me feel welcome, capable, and supported every step of the way.
I left AutoZone not only with a new battery but also with the confidence to take care of my car myself. I even bought the tools I’ll need to keep my car running smoothly all winter — and when I got home, I set everything up on my own.

A female customer service rep just tried to quote my wife a fuel pump instead of an assembly like she asked. When my wife tried to explain it can't be the right part and that she needs the assembly the response she got was "this is what came up when I typed fuel pump assembly"- 🤡 ignorance is fine... What I don't get is that she did not find the assembly and quote it instead she told my wife she can look it up online and good luck with "that". I'll stick to my local Thirlby where the guy behind the counter knows the difference between a fuel pump and a fuel pump assembly.
Engine light came in while traveling. Walked in and had attendant immediately run a check for me FREE of charge.They did not have the questionable plug/part on hand-
Total let down, I called a little after 830 pm after checking with all my local stores first and asked if they had a MAP sensor. He said he did and said he would hold it for me for the next morning. I then today drove over 50 miles to go and get it. Then the so called manager tells me nothing was pulled and that they dont have one. Then shrugged his shoulders and said there isnt anything he can do about.
I called, and a guy said he would put the part I was looking for at the counter with my name on it. When I got their, they had no idea what I was talking about. And they didn't have the part.
Omg. Sarah was awesome. I’m a 65 year old woman. She new what was going on with my car. She said her dad taught her very about cars. Omg give this girl a raise. I was so impressed with her. She has a great future with your business. This was in TC. On January 17 I work at Munson Hospital and I will voice my opinion about this case and send many reviews about AutoZone. Moe
The staff was overall prompt and friendly. I needed to get a new battery in my key fob. It was installed, although the key no longer flips out like it used to. Also one of the employees continued to make derogatory comments about the type of car I had. I know he was joking, but after a while being there it got a little old.
I had the BEST experience with Sam and Aubrey on Sat, Oct 21. Rolled my car in and Sam came out immediately to run diagnostic tests on it. In addition, both he and Aubrey went ABOVE AND BEYOND to get and give me advice on what to do until I could get my vehicle in for repair. I absolutely recommend this location, especially because of the EXCEPTIONAL customer service and CARE that both Sam and Aubrey delivered. They made me feel as those they cared about my situation. Many thanks to them both!
Audrey the manager was super awesome and very insightful! She answered a few questions related to redoing the radiator and coolant. Definitely some of the best customer service I've experienced!
I spent two days at great Wolf lodge in Traverse City with the kids. When we went to leave, the car would not start. I called auto zone in Traverse City of 31. He told me what to do in order to get to auto zone to check my battery. I was so grateful for the help ! Ben B. put a new battery in my car as well as an alternator so that I could safely make it back to Kalamazoo. Excellent customer service and work. I would highly recommend Autozone and Ben’s work to anyone living in or visiting Traverse City. So glad it happened here - Michelle P
It was cold, and my dead car was pretty far away, and I had walked a long way to buy a new battery. When I asked for a ride back I never really expected them to say yes!😃. The manager approved it and they took me back to my car so I didn’t have to lug the battery back myself, and installed it and tested my alternator. Now that’s excellence in customer service, and restores my faith in the kindness of strangers.
Jeremy was the most helpful person with my car troubles. Even though I didn’t have to buy a new battery like I thought, Jeremy helped me find the correct problem, and explained everything to me. Great experience.
Went in to find body fasteners for our vehicle. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We didn't find what we were looking for - we have an older model car, but the service was awesome. I didn't catch the name badge, but we also interacted with another person there and also received the same warmth from them. Oh, and we also checked the other AutoZone across town for the body fastener and some screws for our other car.... The staff there was also very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back to either location!
The store is good, if you need sale floors items. If you have to deal with an associate though they will triple charge you. Then when you try and return the item, the store manager will try and accuse you of stealing it. Fun time... 1/10 would not recommend.
I needed a new battery for my 2011 motorcoach, and Shaun T found 1 that fit and offered the best warranty. He installed it and reattached the "store/use" switch. He knew what he was doing! I really appreciated the professional service and good information I received.

Had a check engine light on with an overheating car. The gentlemen in there were able to help me quickly and get me everything I needed quickly even with my little knowledge of cars. Took a couple hours to fix in their parking lot and every time I popped back in for something they were kind and checked to make sure everything was going smoothly! One man's name was Wolfgang, but I forget the others man's name, but he had dark brown hair and pretty sure he had a big green van!
Had to buy a new battery for my car and the lady that helped me was really nice and understanding. She installed my battery during the rain and wanted to test my battery, starter, and alternator but told me to come back since it was raining. Didn’t catch her name but she was a lovely person to talk to while installation. :)
