This place is so challenging to get ahold of. I want to support this business so badly but it's like they WANT to be aloof and unavailable.
Filled out an online form, got an email telling me to call someone, called 2x w/ no response, when I reached out again via email the woman said, "I have called you twice." She did not, but she also didn't think to confirm my #. I got a truck of my own ready to bring my items, called the building at noon to give them a heads up. Their voicemail said that they close at 4, I left a message, they called back and i missed them but called back less than 5 minutes later to no answer. Now I learn on Google that they close at 2? Hire more people or use your team more efficiently. Your reputation in town is becoming tarnished.
Is it really that hard for you to put your winter hours online?
Let people know you are only open 10a-2p on Tuesdays and Thursdays before they drive out to you.
I had the best experience with BARC. The numerous miscellaneous items removed from my basement by the two pickup guys was done with care. They were great and apologized for being a little late. Thank you guys!!
BARC is always great - we've had so many things we were unsure of recycling, and they always cheerfully accept it. We also love the fact that all of our plastic bags, cereal box liners, etc. can go to them for FREE! We've got stacks of grocery bags full of stuff that used to go straight to the landfill. Keep it up, BARC!
BARC is huge asset for our community. BARC = Nice folks that get the work done. Thank you for all of the hard/messy/dirty work to keep our environment clean and healthy.
All was good until I was unexpectedly billed an extra couple hundred dollars several weeks after the dumpster was picked up do to weight restrictions that I was never made aware of. Not before or after was I made aware of the extra charge. I just happened to check my account and saw the extra charge. I called to dispute and that is when I decided not to use them anymore.
Don't try and contact this place. They don't answer their phone and don't return your calls after leaving several voice messages. Guess I'll have to keep searching for a company that actually wants my business.
I believe they are charging way too much for appliance recycling pickup. I was going to be charged $70 to have a wall ac unit picked up. These expenses charges make it extremely difficult for low income individuals to recycling anything.
I have also found 2 other recycling business that will pick it up for free. One even offered me $50 for recycling my old appliance.I wish this company the best of luck.
I could not give a higher recommendation for using the services of BARC for your private events and weddings. I am a wedding planner based in Traverse City, and work with my couples who are interested in having a low/zero waste wedding and are conscious about recycling, composting, and returnables. BARC makes this process smooth and efficient, providing on-site waste stations and setup for your event at an extremely reasonable cost and offers delivery and pickup service as well.
When we are working with less than a full service catering team (for example, a food truck wedding), we enlist the services of BARC staff to help with waste management throughout the night and they often go above and beyond to provide bussing and clearing services for guests, while stepping up to help with things like moving tables and even breaking down events at the end of the night. Their team is invaluable and we love working with them, thank you!
Great service, NEW LOCATION<<>> BARC is now located near the Beach Bums filed on M-37 just north of Chums Corners. They don't take any furniture, that goes to Waste Management off of Hammond Rd.
