What clients say about Elmwood Auto Care in Sterling (VA)
I saw a very recent review here at 1 star from a person I have had the misfortune to do business with. First, let me say how amazing the team at Elmwood AutoCare is! Ledros and everyone there do a great job. We take all our family cars to Elmwood because we trust them and appreciate their hard work and quality of service.
With regards to that person - he is the least trustworthy, most dishonest person I have dealt with in the area and I really question the veracity and purpose of his review. If you run into him in the Sterling area, I recommend avoiding him. Save your money and your sanity.
Edited after Owner Commented: You Leon did not call me about the vehicle Mike did. He did not provide pricing for fixing the waterpump or for replacing the engine he simply stated that " he did not want to do the repair, because he said that he would recommend changing the engine rather than the headgasket which he didn't want to do because of how much time it takes". Also when I picked the vehicle up from you, I told you that I was taking it to another garage that actually wants to work on it, you the owner even stated that you didn't want to work on it because it would be tied up in the shop for about 3 days and it's a pain because its a Volkswagen. I was disappointed because your a garage that I trust, I have referred multiple people to you and was hoping you would be able to help me. I guess I was asking too much. Because you did not offer a price to fix the issue nor did you try and retain the business when I said I was taking it to a garage that wanted to work on it after Mike said he didn't want too and you seemed to back that decision as well.
Not at all what I expected. Took a vehicle there to be fixed. Instead I was told what could be wrong with it, one thing or the other, charged $170 and told they dont want to fix it. Brushed me off like I meant nothing except for getting my $170. Not recommended or recommending. Very disappointed.
Leon and his crew are honest, reliable, and highly skilled.
I've probably owned 40 cars over the past 60 years. Foreign, domestic and among them 11 Corvettes. Needless to say, I've used a lot of shops.
Elmwood auto care is tops, hands down.
Neighbor s recommended this place for taking care of your cars. Can also recommend. Friendly folks, easy to work with and tell us what is up with our aging car. Good advice and solid work!
I had an ABS fault and I brought my vehicle to these guys in the hopes that they would clear the fault or tell me what’s wrong. They did neither!! I didn’t even like the way the two men treated me. All told I paid $119 for them to tell me that I had a fault.
Leon and his team are great They've always done a great job to get our vehicles back quickly we run a service company and we always need our vehicles back as soon as possible and they've always done a awesome job of reparing our trucks and getting them back on the road safely and quickly at a fair price Definitely will Continue to use and would recommend
They were reliable and very fair with pricing! They were very honest and upfront with the explanation of what was wrong with my vehicle. I wish all mechanics were as fair and reasonable as Elmwood. I'm now a customer for life!
Just moved to the area and needed a place to get my oil changed. Leon was so helpful and put in extra time to make sure I got exactly what I needed. Will definitely be using this auto shop in the future and can’t recommend it enough!
Leon runs a good, reliable and HONEST auto shop. My vehicle broke down on 606 / Old Ox Road on my way to work one morning two months ago. I had it towed to Leon's beause I knew he would find out what was wrong, would fix it, and his charges would not be a rip off. Next day I had my Jeep back, has been running fine, and his fee didn't put me in debt. Thanks Leon!
Got to know Leon when his shop was perviously just a bay he rented at a gas station off Route 7. Maybe in my whole life, he's the only auto guy I've ever trusted like this; he's not going to recommend work you don't need, and he's going to give you a fair price on work he does do. I have several cars -- like any family with 6 kids-- and over 20 years Leon and his skilled mechanics at Elmwood Auto Care have been the frequent place to get service for the "Delgaudio fleet". Very attentive and generous with their skill as they work on cars exclusively in a devotion thats rare. Honesty and skill along with an appreciation for the best price makes them the top auto care facility in Sterling and the world. Their appetite for tough auto jobs seems impossible to estimate as they calmly move from one big task to the next with humility and confidence.
Honest, awesome work, and the price can't be beat. Came highly recommended by several friends, and will remain a loyal and faithful customer. True to their word, and do exactly what they say they are going to do, in a timely fashion. Superb service every time. You guys rock!!!! Thank you!
THE BEST in the area, by far! Leon and his team are honest, reasonable, reliable and personable - not standard qualities found in the northern virginia area in an auto service shop. We moved 20 miles away, and still insist on bringing our cars to Elmwood. Love these guys!
I don't even have Leon call me with an estimate. I just tell him to fix whatever needs fixing. His price will be unbeatable. Often he talks me out of services I thought I needed. My only mechanic.
This fall two friends independently recommended Elmwood Auto Care. I'm so glad they did! They fixed my old Honda's broken windshield wiper motor for 1/2 the cost I'd been quoted elsewhere. Then last week they fixed my in-law's old Lexus RX300 - another repair shop in Arlington had said it 'may be' the front axle ($750), but in fact Elmwood (Arthur) figured out it was a bad Anti-lock brake sensor and fixed it ($375), again at 1/2 the other repair shop's quote. Very nice guys doing great work at a fair price. Thank you Leon (and Mike and Arthur).
These folks know how to fix a car without taking you for a ride! I have had Leon work on my vehicles for years and I have never had a problem with any work performed. I recently had a master cylinder replaced and ever since that was done, my brakes have worked as good as they did the day it was new. Give them a chance. I know you'll be satisfied.
I have taken my car to Elmwood Auto Care for general maintenance for several years now and I don't trust taking it anywhere else. I recently had a flat tire, and out of necessity, was able to get it to a local "Tire and Auto Center" to have the spare put on. I was prepared to let them also replace the tire. When I found out replacement of the tire couldn't be done until the next day for $150 or Tuesday (6 days later!!) for $130, I just took the car with the spare and called Leon at Elmwood. (There aren't many places where you only have to state your name, and the owner knows who you are!) Leon was able to have a tire to the shop within 4 hours and would be able to put it on that day! I decided to leave it over night anyway for an oil change. In the end, I had my car back by 9am the next morning and paid $140 for a new tire AND oil. I fully trust the work they do at Elmwood, they are honest, and I know I'm getting a good deal every time.
Not too long ago we took our car to the original dealer for a regular service and a factory recall (the latest in a string...thanks, GM). We got a call that the car needed $2,300 in repairs. Er...I don't think so. I used to work at the shop next to Leon, so we took the car to him. Those so-called necessary repairs weren't so necessary and Leon gave the car the service it needed. We take all of our vehicles to him, knowing that he's going to give us the straight dope and a fair deal.
Every time I need something done for my truck Leon seems to deliver! Nobody wants to go to the auto mechanic like the dentist but we have to! At least he is honest and fair!
I had quite a laundry list of concerns for my automobile. Leon diagnosed my car and for the most part gave it a clean bill of health.
With all due respect, I could have been grossly overcharged and been non-the wiser.
I definatelt recommend ELMWOOD. It is an awesome feeling to know that there are honest and hardworking people out there.
