New to the area, stopped in on the advice from my colleagues at Mohonk Mountain House. It’s around the corner from my art studio and I will be a regular. Clean and friendly. Great beer and cheer!
I was born only 11 months after my older brother, so let's just say my immune system has never been the strongest: growing up I was "the one with allergies," and, since living alone, I've kept a tissue box in every room.
I'm not sure if it was something I ate earlier that day, but just before walking into West Kill Supply, I was overcome with a runny nose. I tried waiting it out, but soon became very concerned that my relentless sniffling was preventing other guests from enjoying themselves. I ran to the bathroom to grab some toilet paper, feeling I'd be lucky if it were somewhat thick and soft. You will not believe what I found. Tissue boxes—the nice kind, not in just one bathroom, but in both of them.
As I drained my sinuses of their mucus, my spirits filled with a sense of camaraderie. It's in moments like these that real communities are instantiated. They may dissipate, but they are no less real, and they will reform as often as we pay them mind.
Good selection of tasty beer. They have an Imperial Stout on tap during the summer which can be hard to find for dark beer lovers. They also have a variety of NA beverages in the fridge for drivers or those who don’t partake.
Yesterday we passed by this brewery and decided to go in. Inside the room is average size, what I didn't really like is that there is no design, it's just a boring room with tables. The bar counter was served by a nice and professional young Asian lady. My husband and I always try flights, here the flight consisted of 3 types of beer, the volume was not small, I still prefer when the flight is 5-6 types, but smaller in size, so I can choose a larger amount of future purchase. We sat outside, there were several large wooden tables with umbrellas. The territory was also simple, without design, looked a little unkempt. There was a music group preparing for a performance, but we left without having time to listen. I really like live music in such places. Of the 3 types of beer, I liked 2, my husband liked 1, we bought a type of beer to take with us that we had not tried and it turned out to be not bad. The prices are average.
From the moment you walk in, it's a vibe. The throwback wallpaper to the animals on the wall help paint a picture and warm you up for a great night. The manager Stacey is friendly and knowledgeable and makes you feel like home. The Pale Ale is delicious and my favorite of the selections. The night we were there there was also music from the local band the Beer Flies - it was the icing on the cake for a great night. I look forward to returning in the future and would recommend this place to all.
Pretty laid back and rustic setting brewery. It has outdoor and indoor seating. The bartender was mildly helpful, could have been more attentive. The pale ales were great as well as the Hudson North Kiwi Strawberry cider. Bathrooms were very clean and had tissues. Not sure if they offer food, but we only ordered beers.
A great find. Good beer is to be expected at West Kill. What was a pleasant surprise was great music on a Sunday afternoon. Dog friendly inside and out. Flights available to achieve exploration of all the varieties. Plus for us travelers it is a quick stop off 87; only one exit south of north-south lake..
Great atmosphere. Great beer. Indoor area was cute. Outdoor area was perfect for grabbing food and hanging out with the dogs. Everyone there was so nice. Such a great vibe. Bar tender was so nice and attentive and definitely has some regulars. $5 beers on Monday!
Laid back atmosphere with good music and a good selection of brews. I went on $5 draft Monday and that is a great value. Got the Kaaterskill IPA and the red IPA (can't remember the name), sampled the Juniper Ridge and ended up leaving with a 4 pack of it. Many restaurants within walking distance as well so you don't have to go far to get a good meal after your visit
I am SO glad I went here for lunch today. I tried multiple beers, all different styles, and all were excellent. The bartenders were so kind and lovely to talk with. And the delicious pho from the food truck (Asian street food) there today was the icing on the cake. I only wish 1) I lived closer, and 2) I’d had time to go back for more beers later in the day!
Really great beer and atmosphere. First time there and I'm definitely coming back. We got there after the kitchen closed but they let us order from a nearby restaurant that delivered there. The atmosphere overall was very relaxing and there was some live music in the backyard. Highly recommended!
Such a lovely place to visit. I came back twice over the course of a weekend stay in the Catskills because I so regretted not buying their amazing pullover sweatshirt. The staff is great, the decor is beautiful, and the beer is creative and delicious. Bonus points for all of the n/a options in the fridge!
Really excited about this brewery!! The theme reflects the vibe of the smaller towns outside of Kingston and in the Hudson Valley. I tried a few of their beers and all of them were great! It’s pretty laid back and it’s a great little spot.
Perfect compliment to the brewery out in the Westkill Valley. Sitting in the atmosphere of an old Catskill Mountains hunting lodge (in downtown Kingston) is a refreshing change from the look and feel of all the other small breweries. And of course West Kill beer is great...
Some of the best beer brewed in the Hudson Valley. The beer is now brewed on-site here, but not far away in the Catskill mountains. World class craft beer, cocktails made with local spirits, local cider and local wine, all in a very cool atmosphere with friendly staff and clean restrooms. The outdoor area will be great when the warmer weather comes. There is no food offered, but they frequently have food trucks and allow you to bring takeout or have it delived. I actually was hesitant to write a review because I don't want it to get too popular and I crowded, but they deserve all of the accolades.
Great spot!!! They took the charm and feel of west kill location and brought it to Kingston. This place is going to do well! Stop in and grab a beer, they are all tasty. Doodlebug is the stuff!
The bar design and interior is awesome. Congrats to west kill and the crew!
