Check your receipt when exchanging parts. I purchased the wrong part and exchanged it for the correct one. Although the new reciept's total was correct, the newer part wasn't listed on it. That became a big problem when I discovered that part was defective from the factory. The product was Car Quest branded spark plug wires that had their boots glued too far away from the wire ends. I decided to buy from a different parts store despite only getting store credit for returning the defective part.
Rudest employee on the planet works here. I went in looking for a side terminal battery bolt. I passed a guy outside on the phone when I went in. He be looks like the guy that was working there yesterday. I browsed the store looking for the bolt. I didn’t see it in the electrical section. I went to the batter section. Not there either. So I went to the counter. I told the parts man what I needed and he waved to the general merchandise. I asked him to show me. He huffed, walked over to an aisle and slapped some things hanging up, scooted back behind the counter and waited on the next person. I selected the part he slapped and walked to his counter and tossed it up there and waited in line again. He was offended and started to tell me how rude I was and he refused to sell it to me. Well at that point I laid into this guy. He doesn’t seem to know why he is employed by the store. TO HELP THE CUSTOMERS. He obviously needs special training from corporate to learn his job. I will avoid this store from now on at all costs.
I went to Kingston Plaza Advance Auto. Had my battery replaced by Elijah. Awesome experience! Super helpful and knowledgeable. Elijah did an outstanding job, excellent customer service!
They installed my battery, right there, in the parking lot - amazing! John, who I spoke on the phone and installed my battery was very helpful and friendly. Never really shopped at Advance before, but will in the future. 😊
I always get my parts here just go in person or you'll be placed on forever hold. You'll sink into the abyss of hold and never come back. So just go to the store in person and the guys are friendly. I took a star off for the way they handle phone calls. As they ask you to place you on hold but just do it without your response. You will find everything you need there
I usually come here for UPS pickups and the employees have been generally helpful. On some occasions, they said it wasn’t there and checked again only to find it.
There was a new employee at the desk today that was very unhelpful and combative. I asked him about a package and he took exactly 1 second to say it wasn’t there. I came back in the store showing him the tracking showing it was received and who it was received by.
He starts dismissively telling me it’s not there. I asked him what is the next step to take as it was received by autozone. He tells me to “work it out with UPS” and it’s not there fault if someone else picked it up.
This is incorrect, you need to sign off when something is picked up and he didn’t even check the system. He then tells me “I never seen your name or you here before”. Not only should that not matter, but i’ve been there 30-40 times to pick up packages.I left as I didn’t want to argue my point anymore.
I no longer trust this location to pick up packages. I will need to deal with customer service for Amazon for something that is likely in the store.
I guess they usually have what I need, everything except counter help. Always seems to be only one register open, with one employee searching for an obscure part with a customer, when all I need to do is pay for a few quarts of oil.
Prices are all incorrect for items. Went in to purchase microfiber towels, they were on an end cap for $8.99 the store manager said it was just a mistake, that someone just didn't do their job right. He also stated that advanced auto does not honor their display prices. So if you do shop at advanced auto, it is my suggestion you do not purchase anything and expect the displayed price. They also did change the price while I was standing there to another wrong price.
Most of the guys that worked the day I'm writing this review for didn't know that much about cars, but were eager to help and friendly. Later went to Napa and they solved my problem figuring out what the right part was.
Was in search of a CD visor holder found it rite away; however, had 2 wait bcuz the 1 & only cashier available was on the fone getting information 4 a customer.
Great staff clean organized place. Would be a 5 star but due to the covid 19 they are not able to scan your car for codes. So you are stuck buying a code reader that you can't return. Only to use it once.
A really nice employee named Paul walked over to the Hannafords parking lot with me and helped us jump-start our car. Great place to go and get auto parts!
We went in with a dead car battery and Joe was so helpful. He installed the new one (which Advance Auto Parks does with most car models, unless it is too difficult to access). While doing so he noticed that our headlights were dim because of the scratched and cloudy plastic and he suggested an affordable restoration kit. He also notice a very dirty cabin air filter while he was changing the battery -- we had never changed it and didn't know we had to! He explained it was easy to pop out and replace so we ended up buying a new filter and popping it back in. Crazy to think we had been breathing in all that dust and pollution! We take our car to a good mechanic regularly who deals with many of its issues, but we had never been alerted to these things that Joe noticed in a few minutes. Joe really seemed to know his stuff and care. He manages to make fixing your car and maintaining it accessible to anyone. Thanks again!
Went today. Guy refused to help me pop in a lightbub into my headlamp. It would've only taken a minute. No one else was in the store. He said no go find a mechanic to put in. That's ok the other Auto Parts store on Albany Avenue put it in for me even though I bought the bulb from somewhere else. They're much better.
Love the store and Albany Avenue soggy stores OK very clean and Socrates plaza store I don't go to too often because people don't know what they're talking about they just work there for the money in the job Albany Avenue store has kiko Ronnie and Sue that know what they're talking about if you need any help with anything they will order you the right parts
Went in to get filter and oil and saw that the Mobil One oil was on sale with filter. Didn't have my filter in any brand but k&n. The subbed the filter and matched the price.
Only complaint was the new guy was still learning the system and took him a while to figure out the manager needed to do an override. So it took about 45min to get 2 things with minimal customers in the store.
Very bad service . you need people working in this store that want to work. NOT GIVE AN ATTITUDE AND STAND OUTSIDE SMOKING MAKING YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS WAIT IN THE STORE FOR A GOOD 20 MINUTES.
