Carlos and K&W are honest, affordable, fast and friendly. They fixed my wheel bearings and this made all the difference in the way my car drives--at highway speed especially. Also fixed another family car, did great work. Thank you!

We love this auto shop. They are kind and honest and don’t try to upsell you on repairs you don’t need. We always go to them with both of our cars.

These guys are the most honest mechanic shop I’ve ever been too they’ve fixed my Chevy Silverado twice already no scams no bullshit very honest people 10/10 recommend you to bring your truck to them.

Carlos and his crew are terrific. They set an appointment for service and perform the service when they say. If they have to take more time, they let me know before they start the work. The prices are reasonable and the work is high quality. They do not try to sell me unnecessary work and work with me to work out what has to be done and what can wait.

It seems like they go out of their way to help you. Their quotes are fair, and they check with you before doing repairs.

Edit: Had a no-crank, no-start, and when I called them up I was told that they didn't "want to deal with any more electrical problems right now" and they would call back next week. I reached out when they didn't call me back, but they did not pick up. Left a voicemail and then called a few days later when I never heard from them. Still no answer. Not great when I need my car for work. Bummer since they were great to work with before. Would probably recommend if they agree to work on your car, but as it stands I have to lower my review.

Long over due post, but this shop deserves all the praise! After getting fed up with not only the overpricing of the dealership but also the incredibly rude service, we brought our BMW here from several neighbor’s suggestions. Carlos was so nice and completely transparent about pricing. BMW can be tricky to clear service lights but the shop knows how to do it. After the first visit they became our go-to mechanics! And anything they don’t do (ie tires) I go wherever Carlos recommends because I trust him. We are moving and once again will be on a hunt for a new trusty mechanic but if you live in the neighborhood you really do not need to look any further, Carlos & team are the best!

Brought my van to K&W after failing air emissions test. Carlos was extremely up front with me saying error codes are difficult to troubleshoot and it could be several issues. He suggested changing the mass air flow sensor to see if that would clear the error code. It did and I passed the test. Carlos was totally transparent when I asked about rotating the wheels suggesting that I get new tires rather than waste my money. Very trustworthy garage. They are now my go to mechanics. Recommend highly.

The best auto shop I’ve ever had the pleasure of bringing my car to — honest, transparent pricing, always reasonable, timely, and communicative. Truly the best of the best, cannot recommend them more enough. Real ones here.

I want my truck to last, so I sought a place to do some routine 100k maintenance. I had a big list of work to do and calculated it was going to cost about 2200. They came in at 1800. (Sounds crazy but believe me- there’s some things you need to do with an f150 at that mileage.). They were good with communication, reasonably priced, and my truck feels brand new. I’ll be coming back for the next round of work for this truck.

Long overdue review as I got my car fixed in May! I had a great experience here. My car was ready very quickly and at a reasonable price. They even fixed my break light for free which was unexpected but so appreciated! 100% would recommend!

I found K&W through their awesome reviews on Google and Yelp. I was in search of a less expensive alternative for a few services recommended by my dealer. After talking with K&W and bringing my car in, they let me know that these services weren't actually needed yet (my Toyota dealer was just pushing for unnecessary work). They also took care of me in making sure my car was safe to drive on a long upcoming road trip. I sincerely appreciated their honesty and friendliness and will definitely be back with any future car needs!

I've never experienced an auto repair shop where the people are so courteous, so prompt and so fair.

I brought my vehicle in earlier this year for a leak repair, which they fixed and asked me to bring it back in - at no cost - a few weeks later so they could double-check the work. It's been longer than a few weeks, but I brought the vehicle back this morning so they could do that check and for them to give me a thumbs up before taking the vehicle on a long road trip - a once-over I fully expected to pay for. Not only did they check the leak, they gave me a report on the vehicle with recommendations (none of them pressing) as well as the "okay" I was looking for before traveling. It's rare to have a "feel-good" experience at an auto repair shop. But at K&W, you will.

Re-editing this review from a while ago. K&W did it again! They’re booked and busy for good reasons. My car alternator was dying and it took a week to get seen. I trust their work so I waited. My appointment is for tomorrow but called today to ask if it was okay to drop my car off because of work. They happily said yes and less than an hour after I dropped off my car, they called me to say they’d do the test on my car and it’d be ready in a few hours. I asked if they had time to fix my electric key because the battery died and they happily fixed it. I got my car back less from 4 hours after I dropped it off and the cost was discussed over the phone. She’s running smoothly and I’m back in action. Impressed is understating how I feel. Carlos and his team are top notch!

From a few years ago: They just gained a lifetime customer today. I went to have them change my license plates for me and they didn't charge me! They simply did it for me and just wished me a nice day! The guy who did it for me was kind, profession, and quick. (I wish I had asked for his name!) As a female, it's hard to tell when auto shops are ripping you off or not, making it hard to find quality places. I will definitely be coming back for any services needed! Thank you!

K&W are by far the best mechanics in the DMV. Very professional. They are very easy to talk to. Prices are very reasonable. Carlos and Edwin are the GREATEST!!!. I had a problem with my car. No one could figure it out. They saved me!!!. Not to mention they replaced my AC evaporator at half the price of other mechanics on my other car. I will never use another mechanic EVER!!!

I have had the most fantastic experience with K&W Auto Repair. I brought my 2014 Mazda in— it was making screeching noises and ended up needing a new rear differential. Carlos was fantastically kind and helpful in explaining the issue and my options and he even helped work the repair around my summer travel plans! All for a very fair price, I might add. I truly can’t recommend K&W enough. I’ll definitely be bringing my car to K&W all future repairs and oil changes.

I chose to have my work vehicle repaired here because I had prior excellent experience. Upon choosing them to provide service, my completion time was pushed back twice and I had to have my wheel bearings and hub on the front driver and passenger side replaced by another service provider no real biggie. When they did return my vehicle ac/heat wasn’t functioning properly. I finally got time to return the vehicle to have my ac/heat fixed. Upon picking up the vehicle after hrs my ac is exposed and wires, along with a humming sound coming from AC/Heat area as if it’s not secure. This isn’t how I received the vehicle upon first initial repaired, this isn’t the condition they received it. I’m highly displeased with services provided. I chose them because of there quality service in the past. This is unacceptable.

This auto repair shop is amazing! They took care of my care so efficiently, they were beyond honest and followed up to see how it was driving. If I could give them 100 stars I would. Carlos was so professional and kind, I will never go anywhere else and I am recommending them to everyone I know!

I've been going to this shop for the last few years now and I've always been treated like family by all of the staff.

I took my car in for regular service maintenance (oil change, tire rotation, etc.) at another shop closer to home, only to have them tell me that my car was in serious need of repairs ASAP. Their services would have costed about $600 to $850 accounting for parts and labor.

I soon scheduled an appointment at K&W, since I've gotten great service here in the past. After inspection, Carlos told me that the parts in question were just old and worn from regular wear and tear. He had seen much worse before and advised me that a "fix" or replacement wasn't needed just yet.

I was told that since my car wasn't worked on I wouldn't even be charged!

K&W has earned a customer for life!!!

Incredibly friendly, reliable, trustworthy. It is hard to find an honest mechanic these days. Carlos is professional and personal. He inspected my car for free and talked me through as he looked under the hood. Once I schedule a service, the car was ready same-day in a few hours. The pricing was affordable. I feel confident in bringing my 2007 Toyota Yaris here again.

I needed a number of things done for my car, including weatherstripping and diagnostic of an A/C problem. Even though they weren't able to solve the A/C problem with the cheaper solution they were honest throughout the process and very generous on labor. I will update this review when I go back to them to fix the A/C with a part I purchased on their recommendation to save money but their professionalism, transparency, and quality of work is top notch. Already boasted to a friend in the area that he should go there.

Update: Been about a month since the A/C Compressor was replaced and now it works great. They helped me tremendously and will go there again for a car repair.

I made an appointment to do a complete inspection here. Carlos was very polite and answered all my questions. He was great. They told me my car was in very good shape and didn’t charge me a penny extra. They recommend few thing but at the sale time also said they are mandatory to change. Over all a great auto shop on Hyattsville. I highly recommend them.

These guys are AWESOME. My air con stopped working and the reason wasn’t an obvious one. They tried a bunch of different things and brought me with them every step of the way. I appreciate that they are so willing to explain. I now have an air conditioned non-clunking car! (They also replaced my muffler last minute and super fast). Thanks guys. You’re the best. I’ve asked them to fix brake things for me too in the past and they have done those super quickly.

We have been clients of K&W for about six years now. There is no other place we take our cars for mechanical issues. We have always gotten fair estimates and recommendations about what work is high/low priority. We've even been told when work wasn't needed! This place is the real deal. Quick service. Fair prices. Excellent customer service.

After being stiffed by a mechanic, I went online to read reviews on mechanic shops. I came across K&W Auto Repair. I was so impressed by the positive reviews, I decided to have my ac fixed there. I left a message and received a call back by a pleasant young man, named Carlos. He told me it would be about a week before he could get to me. I chose to wait instead of going anywhere else. I am glad I did! I left my car, and later received a call informing me that because I had a turbo, my charge would be more than previously quoted. I appreciate that.
