Bad: Had a 12pm appointment on a Sunday and after a 2.5 hour wait, ended up rescheduling when I never saw my car move from where I parked it in front of the store. Rescheduled for a Thursday at 10am appointment in hopes of service actually being completed in the 2 hours quoted and at 1:30 pm my car was still not complete. I was told they didnt have enough technicians. While I can appreciate that I would suggest that a better business model is to honestly book for what you can handle. I would be a returning patron if that would have been the case. After my time investment I will see this through but not return. Service requestment: Purchasing 4 new tires, balance and alignment. Good: Manager did provide update upon request and a discount at checkout. Thank you for both.

Amazing customer service and support. Ended up having to come for an emergency tire replacement with a dysregulated autistic 4yo. The staff was kind, patient, and helpful! I appreciated the humanity and humor that was shown during our wait. Not everyone tolerates the high energy of my son but everyone was fabulous. The service was quick and my car was on the road before lunch! Very grateful and will be returning!

Needed EV all season tires immediately for an unexpected long road trip. They had them. They had the right car lift. Fit me in the same day. Down in under 2 hours. No fuss no muss. It may not look like much on the outside but they've got it where it counts.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS BUSINESS. I purchased four tires several weeks ago. Upon inspection of the work performed, I noticed that my rims were damaged and the tires looked scuffed. The rims are $250 each. I have been given nothing but the "run around" from this location and from their corporate headquarters. Upon sending pictures of the damage to this location, I was told they would not only replace the rims, but also the tires. Two days later I receive a call that they were not going to honor that deal. I called corporate headquarters and have been waiting on a return call for four days even though they promised me it was "escalated" to customer service. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED IN MY LIFE!

This was a horrible experience. They did not open the store until 9am but signs states 8 AM. My vehicle spent 12 hours at this location for getting a simple 4 tire replacement and alignment. I called multiple times to try to get confirmation about when the vehicle would be done, kept getting conflicting times. I will not be returning to this location at all.

Dropped my truck off for new tires at 10am on Monday. They didn’t have the tires I ordered in stock so I picked different tires so I could get it done that day. Now it’s 4:30pm the following day and they still aren’t done. Looks like I’m going to be without my car for another night.

What an absolute dumpster fire of an experience. If I could give zero stars, I would. I needed new tires and decided to use a Black Friday deal advertised on Pep Boys’ website. That was my first mistake. When I arrived for my appointment, I immediately noticed the price on their screen was almost $200 higher than what I had already paid online. I pointed this out three separate times to Paulson at the service desk. Each time, he brushed off my concern like it was amusing, insisting it would “fix itself” once everything was “zeroed out.” It didn’t. When I returned to pick up my car, another employee tried to charge me the inflated price. I once again explained the situation and showed proof of payment. Instead of resolving it, he scribbled my information on a scrap of paper and told me he’d “call in the morning.” He never did. From there, the situation only spiraled further. The tire change itself was botched, and I had to return three separate times to correct their mistakes. One of those visits turned into an absolutely absurd six-hour ordeal while they slowly tried to fix issues they caused in the first place. Even after all that, they still charged me the wrong amount. Customer service has been completely useless, leaving me no choice but to dispute the charge through my credit card company. And as a final cherry on top, during my entire six-hour wait, the staff was also scrambling because they lost another customer’s car keys. This place is disorganized, incompetent, and completely unprofessional from start to finish. Save yourself the time, money, and stress. DO NOT COME HERE.

Very misleading services. I made an appointment and showed up twice just for the tires to still not be there when they said it would be.. manager is just as bad as the employees in terms of accountability, didn't even offer me a discount for not having everything ready by my appointment date but had the nerve to ask if I wanted to come back if the item got delivered. There's many other places to go that will do things more efficiently and won't constantly waste your time. Location also isn't comfortable in terms of parking, overall not worth it.

Very bad mechanic shop, took my car to put a patch in the tire, and it took them over a day to get back to me and the day they did they haven’t even put the patch in the tire. The tire patch they used did not even work the same day it was slowly leaking air and I went to get it checked a few days later and it turns out they don’t put the patch right and the patch was too small. The day I went to complain about the tire still leaking the same day they put that disgrace of a patch they tried to over charge me.

Maryland State Inspection SCAM!!! I moved to Maryland three months ago and needed to get the state inspection to get tags, apply for registration, etc. They charge $75 for an inspection. Afterwards, I failed! They said my “front ball joint” was leaking…strange. I just bought a 2017 Toyota Camry in April 2025. They tried to get me to pay $1200 for this “fix”. I said NO, I don’t have $1200 laying around, let alone, that made me suspicious. I took the same car this week to a local auto shop that is certified for state inspections and it passed with fly colors. This corporation just wants your money and is a scam! DON’T trust Pep Boys!

I came in needing real honesty and guidance. My car is old and needs a lot of work, and I needed people who would tell me the truth, help me understand what was going on, and make sure my car was prepared for winter. Not only did Edgar and Sunny take their time with me, they explained why things were happening so I could actually understand my car better. They were patient, friendly, and so knowledgeable — and they eased a lot of the fear and anxiety I walked in with. I left with clarity, confidence, and a game plan. These two are absolute gems. Their kindness, transparency, and expertise are unmatched. I genuinely don’t want to work with anyone else. I already have another appointment scheduled, and I’m only coming in when both of them are there. If they’re not working, neither am I! If you want honesty, patience, and people who truly care, go to Edgar and Sunny. Highly recommend.

I wish I could give this place a zero! I took my SUV there because it needed a waterpump. They installed the waterpump and it cost $600. Now, I had Carshield Warranty but because I only had it for 2 months and you have to have it for atleast 3months they said they wasn't going to pay for it. So, I said thats cool I'll pay for it. So, these crooks at Pepboys then going to say that once they installed the pump now its overheating. I said how its doing that? it wasn't doing that when I was driving it. They said we have to see why its doing that. So they come back and say its the thermostats but they have to get permission from carshield to fix it. So they lied and said they got permission. Installed the thermostats now they're saying it cost $2,000. They're also saying its still overheating so now they think its the head gasket.Carshield said they wasn't going to pay because they didn't give them permission. I'm not going to pay because I didn't give them permission and I lost my job because I need a car for work. I went up there and turned the car on the car ran for about 10 minutes and it didn't overheat and to get my stuff.They stole my bag with my work tools in it these people are thieves and crooks. So the lender is going to reposse the car. DONT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THESE CROOKS! They did that because I had Carshield and they was trying to work me so I would get Carshield to pay $2000. It was nothing wrong with the car but the pump! Stay away from these crooks or you will regret it!

Paulson made the entire experience amazing. Personable, professional, honest and just treated me like a person rather than a “customer”. For 4 tires, oil change and alignment…great price and super quick. I’ll definitely be back…it’s hard to find auto places you trust and this one is it for me.

They told me the work on my car would be completed in three hours, but I ended up going two days because the fourth tire wasn't in stock. They mounted three tires the first day (five-hour wait) and the fourth tire the next day (four-hour wait). The store's appearance is very unpleasant.

Highly recommend this auto repair shop. Came here with a rental and they did everything in their power to get it fixed for me. Really great guys who are easy and fun to talk to.

Do not take your vehicle to Pep Boys. 1804 University Blvd E in Hyattsville MD. Many items were stolen out my vehicle and trashed. Pep Boys made no attempt to investigate the issue. $1000 or more worth of stuff stolen. Tools, tire pump, cologne, Bluetooth transmitter, baby wipes, chargers and much more.

Excellent Customer Service. The team is excellent their periodically checked in throughout the wait time. Although the wait time can use some improvement this appeared to be more systemic that staff have no controlled over. Appeared to be a short staff issue but overall I would highly recommend this company the staff made it all worth it and the work done is excellent.

⭐ 0 Star Worst experience ever! Absolutely the worst place to get your car done. They told me they’d replace my 4 tires in 2 hours,which already felt like a stretch but here I am, over 5 hours later, still waiting. No updates, no urgency, nothing. If you value your time, don’t come here unless you enjoy sitting around all day for a simple tire job. Never again Front desk people are liars ! And no respect for customer time .

Moses was both helpful and honest. Car was ready when he said it would be and the price was as agreed upon prior to performing repairs. I appreciated him getting me in and done the same day without an appointment.

If I could give a negative number of stars I would. Unethical business practices, taking advantage of a customer. Lie after lie. Lou was the WORST! I am going right up the Pep Boys corporate chain to complain about the utter thievery this shop tried to pull. Thank goodness I could get me car out of there before they got their hands on it. They lied about the part we needed, the service time at triple the correct rate, and were going to tell us they repaired something that never needed repair in the first place. DO NOT take your vehicle there EVER and reconsider doing any business with Pep Boys anywhere in the country. @pepboys should be ashamed of themselves letting this store get away with whet they do!

Took my car in this morning to look into a check-oil light; they cleared the problem by just confirming that the oil was fine, but the system hadn't been reset. Didn't charge me a dime! I'll definitely take my car back there when I have a real problem.

I was initially skeptical about visiting Pep Boys after reading some reviews, but my experience was great. The location was convenient and covered by my warranty, which made it an easy choice. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and didn’t have to wait long. Kelvin was excellent; upfront, informative, and kept me updated throughout the process with calls and updates. The waiting area was clean and comfortable. I understand some people come in frustrated with car issues,and our schedules messed up because of it, but that doesn't mean it's employees fault. They are genuinely trying to help. Don’t take out your frustration on them, they’re doing their best. Overall, I’m very satisfied and would highly recommend this location, especially Kelvin!

Car performing well but didn’t get much information with the complimentary vehicle inspection but every establishment is different so can’t really complain. They did the job they were paid to do 🤷🏾♀️. Also relatively quick turn around and only one bus ride away for me so that was great also. Update: I returned for a system check and they did work that I did not ask for and was never told about until they finished 3 hrs later , then kept going back and forth with me as if I bore some kind of responsibility in the situation. Like literally just sitting there looking stupid because I didn’t just go along with it. I now see why people pay for the dealership ….. the only reason I’m leaving 2 stars is because I had a good experience my first time using this location atp I think that was a fluke.

Had to take the car back to be looked at after first alignment attempt. Told to drop it off at 9a & at 9:30 (the line at 9:10 was slow & long) was told my car was next up. At 12:30p, the car was untouched and I was told an hour. At 1p the car was untouched and I was told an hour from whenever they finished the vehicle ahead of me as there is only one mechanic available. Lovely staff, but my time is more valuable than this corporation seems to have esteemed it.

Tried to get my truck aligned. After a long while, just to have someone come out and check my truck. The guy immediately said he couldn't do it because I needed ALL *new* tires. They were gently used tires and had just been put on my truck earlier in the week but then he directed us towards their tire selection... So, it's funny.

I had a really bad experience. At pickup, just prior to closing, I was informed that my car wasn’t serviced and I could wait until 9:30 in the evening to have the service done, or bring it in the next morning. I brought it in the next morning and again had to inquire about getting the car serviced because they began servicing vehicles that came in after me. After servicing the vehicle, the issue (tire sensors) still remained. They also confirmed that they did an oil change. I checked the oil level after the indicator still showed that the car needed an oil change, and it was empty.

One of my worst customer service experiences in recent memory. Took over 10 minutes before anyone greeted me (despite the staff, including the manager, making sure contact and walking past me repeatedly), and I was the only customer waiting! Bonus: They only greeted me because I got their attention. There were one or two helpful mechanics, and one of the salespeople was eventually sort of pleasant, but I will never go back. One star is generous.

Avoid this place if you can!! I bought four tires from tire rack— delivered here. Scheduled an appointment to have them installed on a Saturday at 1pm. Dropped it offer early and it took 5 hours to install (with an appointment). When I inspected the work, two of the four tires were installed wrong. (Directional tires) at a tire shop they can’t figure it out. I luckily had time to go back a few days later and it takes them well over 3 hours to take off two tires and correct their mistake. Like I started— avoid this place if you can!! Kofi the front desk guy flat out lied about timing when I sat and watched the techs work on other tires and cars. When he told me I would be pushed up the line for the inconvenience you all caused. Mind you not one person on the pepboys team apologized for the mistake they made or the inconvenience of wasting my time.

The best manager and service team including Zemichael- Manager , Yenessi-lovely and diligent front desk assist. , and Chris O the coolest mechanic fixed my Brake pads, added new rotors and cleaned out my squeeze back brake drums. Learned so much from this team today w my two frenchies. Highly recommend their honesty and valuable service! Much appreciated! 🙏😘

The las week I have problems whit my car tired and I go to pep Boys university bulevar ( langley park) and they help my a lot I was completely impresionante the attention for costumer and Olson mr zemichael help me to get the best price in old my service in that they I did oil change, alaigmet and tired replace ofcurse. !! Please. Is you need help whit your car go to to pep Boys langley park and ask for mr zemichael he is the man !!!
