A seamless and relaxing stay. The check-in process was smooth, the room was perfectly prepared, and the atmosphere throughout the property was welcoming. Staff demonstrated professionalism and genuine hospitality. Every aspect of the visit reflected high standards and careful management.

Great hotel, in a great location. The staff are especially helpful. I had accidentally left my suitcase in the front lobby and a hotel employee by the name of Arvin ran me down as I was waiting for my uber to make sure I didn’t leave it!! So thoughtful and so nice!

The location itself is great — very central to everything. However, the hotel is still under construction and does not offer room service. You also have to come downstairs to receive any guest or visitor at any hour of the day. The front desk will not call up or send them up, which feels unreasonable. I understand there may be security concerns, but it makes you wonder what the purpose of the front desk is if they cannot assist with basic guest coordination.

The staff is super friendly. The reviews led me to believe it was a much nicer hotel. There was significant construction going on and that created a lot of noise in the common areas like the lounge, and that was a real drag. The room is kind of worn out, with generally deteriorated surfaces, especially in the bath. The water pressure in the bathroom was really substandard. The bathroom wasn’t very clean. The only way to get a Coke or something in the evening is at the bar, which was kind of a drag. Coffee service in the morning means visiting the hostess stand in the restaurant and spending five bucks for a to go cup of just okay coffee. Felt like a ripoff. It’s in a good area with wonderful dining and entertainment options within walking distance. We walked to Chinatown, the National Portrait Gallery, and may excellent restaurants. Next time I visit I will spend a little more per night and stay in a nicer place. It’s not management’s fault, it’s just a worn out property—room finishes and plumbing, particularly.

I have mixed emotions about my stay here. I was greeted Friday 2/20/2026 by John who seemed to be a manager of some sort. He was very kind and even upgraded us to a suite with a balcony. I was very excited and appreciative but upon entering my room and giving a quick inspection I noticed a strange bug inside the shower. I was displeased and brought this to the attention of John, in which he simply said he’d list it in the report of the room. No food voucher, no offer to switch rooms, no type of compensation to justify what I had just witnessed in the shower. I believe something could’ve and should’ve been done to accommodate my guest and I, as I was charged a deposit for each night I stayed there. It was 60$ for the first night and 50$ for the second. I hope someone reaches out to me and does something about the issues I had here. Thank you.

I’ve stayed here several times and have been pleased each time. Rooms are definitely outdated, but still clean. Great location

The location is very convenient. The staff is very friendly and thw rooms very comfortable. I plan to come back whenever I have business to attend in DC

Washington Plaza Hotel offered us great customer service. Rooms were nicely finished and had what you needed. Overall very clean hotel and their parking was awesome.

Was here during Christmas 2025. Since Federal workers were granted (3) holidays this week the normally congested and busy area was like a ghost town during the holiday weekend. The hotel was quiet I did not visit the bar or restaurant within quite simply because no one was there. My room was clean absolutely no hotel smell in my clothes. Only complaint is that although I rented a premiere room it was very tiny AND no microwave. There was water in the room and your coffee station is located in the bathroom...so shower and sip (like an inmate). Of course being at Thomas Circle location is near whatever you want. I ordered me a couple super slices from 18th Street and there were there in like 20 minutes no cap!!!

Bed was terrible, really poor quality mattresses. 2 singles pushed together to make a kingsize and they weren't even the same height it felt like there was a plank of wood in-between them the springs were dead and you can feel every single one. All down one side of my body went numb. I did not sleep at all. Was told I would get a call back from management to discuss my disappointment but no call back. No refund, nobody cared. I would recommend spending a little more on a better hotel if you value your sleep

The room was cozy and the staff was very friendly. Note that the following statement is not a negative note towards the hotel. But simply a personal one: the room would not go below 70⁰, despite setting the thermostat to 65⁰. For me that made the night a little uncomfortable, but I still got a full night's sleep. I would definitely come here again. I'll just bring a small fan with me next time.

The hotel itself was clean and well maintained, but unfortunately our stay was very disappointing overall. The rooms are quite small, which we could have managed, but the biggest issue was the construction. There was extremely loud renovation noise until 9:00 pm, and it was clearly audible—even from our room on the 5th floor. It made it very difficult to relax or enjoy our time in the room. What made this especially frustrating is that there was no warning at all about the construction or renovations when booking. Had we known, we absolutely would not have chosen this hotel. Transparency matters, and guests should be informed in advance about major disruptions like this. While cleanliness was a positive, the noise and lack of disclosure overshadowed everything else. Unfortunately, we would not book this hotel again.

It's a great hotel.right in the heart of the city. Staff was super amazing and very helpful especially the lady at the front desk she was awesome and very professional. There are many places and restaurants nearby. Hotel room was nice with a good window view of the city and the beds were comfortable. I would definitely comeback back here.

Staff was very attentive during my stay. I forgot a receipt from the Hotel Restaurant and had to call back a month later. Asia (from the front desk) went above and beyond to find the physical receipt and send it to me so I could report the expense. Thanks so much!

I’m actively typing this review in the dark where the power has been out for nearly FIVE hours in below freezing weather. The front desk has basically said “sorry, they’re working on something” multiple times and keeps pushing how long the power will be out, further and further. Not only was this supposedly planned but NOTHING was mentioned during check-in when I arrived on Wednesday and it’s now Friday. Great location, terrible service and planning.

Rooms are being updated. I know this because I could hear the construction going on. Once that is done, it gets five stars all around. My room was definitely dated. Nice , but dated. Great gym, pool, and everything you would expect from a fancy (expensive) hotel.

The conduct I encountered was extremely disappointing and far below the professional standards expected from a hospitality business. Specifically: • Poor Customer Service: [Describe what happened — for example, “My concerns were ignored, and staff spoke to me rudely when I requested assistance.”] • Unprofessional / Disrespectful Behavior: [Describe what occurred — for example, “The hotel manager displayed an unprofessional attitude, raising their voice and refusing to listen to my complaint.”] • Lack of Accountability: [Optional — “No one took responsibility for resolving the issue, and I was left feeling disrespected and frustrated.”] Such behavior not only violates basic principles of customer service but also damages the hotel’s reputation and trust with its guests. Every customer deserves to be treated with respect, honesty, and fairness.

Staffs are friendly. The rooms don't have any microwaves. Rooms are not that great either. You would expect better for $300+ per night.

What a great hotel! The staff was extremely friendly, and the food in the restaurant was very yummy. (I highly recommend the crab cakes!) I took 1 star off because the rooms don't have microwaves, and the restaurant has rules against warming "outside food". [Suggestion: One could easily be placed in the areas where the ice machine is located.] Other than that, I'd gladly stay again (and remember to eat all my "outside food" so leftovers don't go to waste).

I had a very unpleasant experience with the housekeeping manager. In the morning, she knocked on my door extremely hard, practically kicking me out in a very rude way. My flight had been canceled, and I had already paid an extra $85 for a late check-out. Just five minutes after the check-out time, she came back banging on the door again like the FBI, shouting and demanding that I leave immediately. She was a Latina woman speaking Spanish, acting as if she were above everyone just because of her position. Totally unprofessional and disrespectful. It’s a shame to leave the hotel with such a bad impression because of her behavior. I won’t recommend this hotel and hope management addresses this inappropriate conduct

It's clean, the garage is good, the staff is incredibly friendly. The rooms are a bit dated and the windows let a lot of sound in, but considering its price and location its still five stars.

Had a good stay, room was nice, the area was quiet until the bustle of the city started. You need your room key to make the elevator work so that’s fun. Especially when you have your arms full of stuff because you poorly planned your life. I realize this is a me problem.

Positive: Centrally located Negative: Hotel is very old, outdated and musty smell. The furniture is black, verrrry old. Bathroom has no vent, coffee maker is in the bathroom. Do not pay the extra $50 and park in the garage-truck will get scratched.

The room was very small that the coffee maker is placed in the bathroom. The Front desk staff and door staff kind and friendly. Very disappointed about with management. I stayed in Sept 15 which is already a low travel peak to DC. I was charged 250 dollars a night for seven nights, and when I stayed another night, I was charged double. I spoke with John manager at the front desk who indicated that the price varies night to night. I explained that hotels honor their guest when staying more nights with the same price or even less not double, and he was very cold with his answer that "it is their policy to have a different rate according to reservations demands." the place was empty. He even denied me at 2pm late check out. The hotel across the street same location name Zena was charging 150 dollars a night. I will not return to Washington Plaza Hotel or recommend to anybody.

Stayed for two nights, love this hotel! Staff was super helpful and friendly. Room was very clean, beds were so comfy, love that they give out bottles of water unlimited. The neighborhood is great, walking distance to bistros and pubs. Nice vibe in the hotel bar too. Great drinks, try the Limoncello Martini. ! I'm definitely coming back. Wish the room had a microwave, the frig was a plus.

Lovely hotel. Rooms were clean and tidy. Reception staff helpful. Nice swimming pool area. Fantastic location with White House and other attractions in walking distance down road opposite. Bars and restaurants just around the corner.

I really enjoyed my time here. The location is excellent — close to everything, but still peaceful. The staff were kind and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The coffee was surprisingly good, and the pool was a nice bonus — clean and relaxing. Would definitely come back!

I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. The front desk staff, a lady with dark skin and her hair tied up, was extremely unfriendly and gave so much attitude during check-in. I didn’t feel welcomed at all. On top of that, the room was very small and uncomfortable. Management should really train their staff to be more professional and welcoming. Definitely not worth it, and I will never come back.

Had a great stay at Washington Plaza & the pool is great on a hot summer weekend!! Rooms are decent & location is fantastic but the best part & most valued employee I believe is Sarah the bartenders, she's been working the entire time we are here & remembers her guests & is super attentive & friendly. The rest of the bar staff is great also but she SHINES!! The doorman is also super great. I will stay here again next time & hope Sarah is here again!

Excellent location. We didn’t get the chance to use the pool, but it looked fantastic. The hotel staff were friendly and professional, helping us every step of the way. Parking was convenient and easy to find, and the in-and-out privileges were great. You can also park there until 6 pm on the day of checkout at no additional charge, which is a fantastic perk.
