American Foreign Car Service is exactly the kind of shop you hope to find. It is a true family-run business, and you can feel it the moment you walk in. There are pictures everywhere of U Street from decades ago, which gives the place real character and history.
I ordered a part myself and tried to install it on my own, but it turned out to be much more complicated than I expected. After finally giving up, I called them. A wonderful woman answered the phone and, even though they were fully booked for the day, told me to come by in 30 minutes and they would take a look.
They quickly diagnosed the issue, fixed it in about 30 minutes, and had me back on the road. No hassle, no upsell, just honest and efficient service.
Super happy with the experience. Highly recommend.
Paid these guys to do a pre-purchase inspection of an Audi, trusted their work, and they failed to notice both control arms are completely cracked. Now the car has failed MD inspection and I'm out $2,000. Avoid these people
Excellent customer service from Mr.Pedro. I went there for quick check up my car before I head on the long drive, he checked everything and a sure car is good to go.
I placed a call to inquire about a particular service as the name of the shop reads "foreign" lol however upon placing said call and as I arrived -- "politely might i add Id be remiss if I didn't"-- that immediately took on a whole different meaning. I was led to believe the shop provides unsaid (discretion) particular service. Unfortunately I was deeply inconvenienced by having to tow my non running car to a shop that misscommunicated their abilities only then to provide poor customer service and dismissiveness. Wish I could give it No stars.
Pedro is a GREAT GUY and does a great job in an expeditious manner. Brought my mini cooper to him and had the car back the next day. These cars are expensive to fix but I believe he was fair and honest.
Brought my Lexus here for a minor dent repair. They had another person drive my car offsite without my knowledge and rear ended another person during the transport. This shop never notified me this occurred and I was only made aware through the other person's insurance company. I was held liable because this shop is uninsured. Please beware taking it to this unethical place. I doubt their reviews are authentic.
Pedro did a great job on my car and even sent me a video of the problem with my car. He was able to fix an oil leak in 24 hours and was very responsive to again questions. Would recommend to a friend and go back again should I have car troubles
Pedro is a stand up man, great worker, and a kind person. His staff is just as great. As a daughter of someone who works on cars- he can be trusted!! I will tell my girl friends to come to this establishment for proper treatment/fair prices (we all know what other auto shops like to do when it comes to inexperienced customers.. scam them!!) He knows his stuff and takes time out of his work day to be a kind and gracious business owner. This business has been here for as long as it has been for a reason, great service. I will only go to this establishment from here on out!
This guy is a total liar and cheat. I used to go there because I lived in the building directly behind. He replaced the window shied wipers with the cheapest one possible, that skid across the window and made so much noise. He claimed the suspension system needed to be completely replaced, and estimated $1600, another dealer said that amount of work was not needed and fixed the issue for $550. He also claimed to have replaced my broken thermostat and when I asked for the broken one for evidence (my mom told me to do this), he responded by trying to lower the price a little. Super shady people that act all friendly, like they are your buddy. Go anywhere else!!
They told me 50 dollars for a terminal change then they took 2 days to do the change then she proceeded to tell me when I go to pick up the car that I owe another 40 dollars. Then proceeds to disrespect me in Spanish with her friend
