Great mechanic. They helped me out when my car battery was experiencing issues. Had such a good experience that I now bring my car in for general maintenance. Very reasonable prices!

A very pleasant first experience using District Line Auto Service. I had a couple of coolant lines that ruptured and needed replacing. I called as soon as the the shop opened and Ray said he could look at the car the same day. I was delayed a few hours in getting the car towed, but once it finally got there Ray went through diagnosing, ordering, and repairing the car in about 6 hours. He's very communicative, sending photos and text updates along the way. Labor prices are extremely reasonable (I've used other indy shops as well as dealerships in the region).

During the summer of 2023, my car air conditioning stopped working. I was on vacation in DC and called around to several places near where I was staying in an attempt to get it fixed, and every place I called would not give me a firm appointment time for an evaluation and estimate of repair except one: District Line Auto Service. I went there on the same day I called, had my vehicle evaluated, and received kind, courteous and expert repair of my auto over the course of 2 days, since the part had to be ordered and the repair took awhile to do. They texted me when the repair was done, which I found helpful as well. While all the other places I called disappointed me, District Line did not, and exceeded my expectations. Especially since I was from out of town and afraid of possibly being taken advantage of by mechanics I didn't know. I didn't have to worry about that at District Line. I got a fair price for the repair and it didn't take a lot of time away from my vacation.

I used this garage last year for brake pads and brake rotor replacement on a Mazda, and again today for maintenance (engine oil and oil filter change; tire rotation; air filter and cabin filter replaced). Cost is very reasonnable. I was able to drop and pick up the car in same morning, provided I arrived at opening (7 am).

I've been going to this auto shop since I moved to DC 4 years ago. Ray and his team are very reliable, transparent, and efficient. I've gotten oil changes, starter replacements, and brake replacements here. Fortunately I have not had too many issues with my car, mostly regular maintenance (aside from the starter issue that ray was able to identify and resolve after I went to 3 other places, including the dealership). I honestly don't go anywhere else because I feel like once you find a reliable mechanic, you stick with them!

I definitely DO NOT recommend. They gave me an estimate of over $900 to change a belt and pulley on my vehicle. Over $500 of that was labor. It takes less than hour to do that job and the parts cost about $165 at the most, so you do the math. They lost a potentially lifelong customer for trying to get over. Thank God I found an honest, reliable certified shop to go to instead.

Very quick turnaround on car repairs and even an oil change. Easy and quick to drop off and pick up my car and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I went to them after being told there was nothing wrong with my car at one shop down the road, took it here, and they immediately knew the issue without even having to look at my car. Got it fixed in a day.

Omg I would ride pass this place regularly and never considered using them until I needed a brake line replacement on my vehicle. The service is OUTSTANDING, they're fast, efficient great quality and they tell you everything you need to knoe about your vehicle. I recommend this spot. Definitely will return. Thanks Ray!

My family and I have entrusted our vehicles being serviced here which far supersedes a business relationship. Ray always offers transparent honesty regarding imperative repairs and cost-cutting immediate solutions, which are non-advantageous and comforting throughout the process. Location is Metrobus accessible and well known, as it truly sits on the DC/Maryland Line.

Prices are fair and they don't try to to any unnecessary work on your car. Jiffy Lube had said I needed a new serpentine belt but my car only has 40k miles on it, but the told me here it is fine. I was also able to bring my car in right away, no wait needed.

If you’re looking for an auto shop with fair prices, honest assessments, and no aggressive up-selling tactics, then District Line Auto is the place to go. I will definitely be returning. I was nervous taking in my “new”, used vehicle but I was made to feel at ease and the final cost was much lower than I was expecting.

If you want an honest and professional auto service facility, you don’t have to look any further! District Line Auto will never disappoint you. I have taken my car twice here (by recommendation from a friend) all the way from NOVA and both times they were completely honest with me and only fixed what needed to be fixed instead of fixing other issues which other mechanics suggested I fix. They will be honest with you and recommend you to fix ONLY what is necessary!! Both times, they completed the work in a very timely fashion and the job was perfectly executed. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in receiving honest and professional service. Furthermore, the mechanics are very easy and pleasant to talk to. I have been going to District Line Auto for over a decade. Beyond the reasonable pricing, the service is pretty great! For a car nearly 20 years old and still holding up is a testament to their work. I mostly deal with Ray who not just explains what's going on in a way I can receive it, but will also take the time out to show me as well. It's nice to go somewhere you and your car are cared for.

Ray and his hardworking crew at District Line Auto are top notch. You will get honest, thorough, timely, and reasonably priced service every time. And if your car has a personality and challenges that are hard to fix, he will persist until they get it right. We are grateful for the best neighborhood mechanic around! We have been taking both our cars to Ray since we moved to DC in 2014 and are really happy with their service.

I have been a customer of dc line auto since 1998 that has included 2 Mercedes and 2 Fords. Ray and John have provided me and my family exemplary service at a great price. they have even greatly assisted me in emergency situations as well as saved me money. they are honest and provide great service.

Great place, great service, great working with customers, remember customers and work great on auto while doing only what's really needed. Costs kept at reasonable only what's needed and all so knowledge about my car an older overseas make. Love the place n go there now exclusively even though no loaners or rentals readily available. Keep transportation going n functioning correctly at reasonable cost is better than loaner from dealers with inflated service n part prices. They can get any dealer part at better price if needed. They always call with what's found, cost n time estimate for approval before work. Just splendid.

Great place! I have been working to get a BMW up to standard there. Ray and John have always been real upfront and supportive of my needs and understanding of my lack of finances at times. As a result, they give me very competitive pricing to get things done. They give great service and are my official go to auto maintenance shop.

I had just purchased a used car as a second means of transportation and I was looking for a Mechanic (Repair) shop that could provide honest integrity, qualified mechanics, and affordable/reasonable pricing. I was looking for a location, near to where I lived. After reading so many excellent reviews about District Line Auto Service, I decided to give RAY a call. Upon meeting him and discussing my dilemma, with my 1992 Honda Accord needing to pass inspection, Ray shared his insight as to what my objectives were and proceeded to fix some of the pending immediate issues. He extended himself and he made me feel as though, we have known each other for a while. I was pleased with the service and his mannerisms. I also, spoke with a few other patrons, that stated "that they have been coming to District Line Auto Service for years". I finally found and good place to bring my car.

I've been going here for the past 8 years since my move from Philly. District Line has always provided great service for my previous Honda and my current Acura. Prices are fairly reasonable and services are guaranteed with no fuss.

District Line Auto Service is the only place I take my Acura Integra for service. They are always honest, courteous, competent, reasonably priced, and work quickly. I have a very old car, which I am trying to keep as long as I can, and I have been able to do so because of the professional service they provide; they fix an issue the FIRST time. As a female customer, I am treated with respect and dignity; in fact, they try to get to know their customers by name and face, so I am greeted very politely whenever I visit. I highly recommend the service to my family and friends and I continue to support this business in our neighborhood. It's right on the 70 and 79 bus lines on Georgia Avenue which makes it easy for me to get there and home again within minutes. And they work in the mornings on Saturdays, which is a huge plus since I need my car every work day. Five stars plus for sure.

I originally chose this shop in 2011 by recommendation of a friend who said they produce quick results at a reasonable price... and he was not kidding! I had major brake issues and needed my car up and running soon. Ray delivered, and ever since then I brought my car to him and each time I was satisfied with the result. He's friendly, honest, and willing to work within the customer's financial restraints. I highly recommend him for whatever auto troubles you're having.

I moved to DC from the Bay Area 4 years ago with a Saab 9-3 and have been taking it to District Auto since and here I am only now writing this review!! I so appreciate the willingness of Ray to explain to a non car person like me what exactly is going on with this Saab 2002! The consistent and excellent customer service received from the honest, competent, professional and personable staff of District Line Auto make it a pleasure to do business. Everything from a 'regular service' to a diagnostic check when that dreaded 'check engine' light appears to more major work such as fuel pump amongst many other Saab dilemmas...Repair is handled quickly and I could not give a higher recommendation! I still love my Saab also!

District Line is an extraordinary auto repair shop with excellent service. I have been told repeatedly that my aging 2003 Hyundai Elantra wasn't worth repairing. I first used this shop when I got into my first car accident. Ray was very concerned for my safety so he even fixed my mirror that was dangling from the car. I told him I was a student and I need my car to get back forth to school so he worked with me and told me what needed to be fixed right away and what I could come back and fix later. They also fixed an issue with the car failing emissions, and handled taking it back through for me and getting it to pass. I have always found District Line to be fair, straight forward, and honest. Ray and John worked with me patiently to come up with a repair plan I could afford, helping me prioritize which repairs were most important and which could wait. And, my personal favorite aspect of working with Ray is that he didn't talk down to me. I've had many mechanics be dismissive or unwilling to explain, or even get offended at me asking questions. That has never happened to me dealing with Ray. He speaks to me respectfully and recognizes my cognitive capability. I would and have highly recommended District Line to friends and family.

This is the first time I have taken the time to write a review because I feel everyone should know about the exceptional services provided by District Line Auto. I started using District Line Auto when I was stationed at the Old Walter Reed Military Medical Center. For over 10 years now District Line Auto has provided honest, fair and quality service to myself and everyone I have recommended. I refuse to use any other mechanic. I consider them friends and fully trust them with all my vehicle maintenance and repairs.

While the customer service is exceptional, the primary reason I have been a loyal client of DC Line Auto since the doors opened 20 years ago (when I was a DC resident) is that they are honest in a industry that is typically not honest. I get a honest diagnostic of my problem, an accurate time line to fix the problem and a fair price for the service. I have even left tips before! Should there ever be a (RARE) problem, its addressed directly, fairly and most importantly quickly. They will give you honest analysis of what needs to be address now and what things can be addressed later. The shop has excellent staff tenor. So the mechanics get to know your car. I feel safe referring my male AND more importantly my female friends and family knowing that I do NOT have to go with them to make sure they get the "man" service or price. My referrals ALWAYS report positive feedback and fair pricing. My ONLY problems is that I now live all the way in HOWARD county and I there is no way I will use anyone else even if they are closer to my home. DC Line Auto is worth the trip. No frills or shiny lobby with multiple flat screens and flavored coffee JUST good, honest trustworthy, competent people who get the job done right.

I have been coming to District Line Auto Service for nearly 20 years. I have found them to be competent, fair, honest, and reasonable. Over that period of time, I had 3 cars that I brought used. One of which was totaled as a result of a car accident. I can truly say that these cars, one that I still have, were kept running as a result of District Line. I have recommended them to family and friends. Everyone are completely satisfied with their work, fair price, and honesty. You will come away knowing that they are not trying to stiff you by telling you something that is not true just to get your money. John and Ray will not only tell you what is wrong with your car but will show you and take the time to explain it in terms you will understand. They will also tell you what the least and most you can have done as well as what will happen if you don't get it fixed.
