Usually very pleased with service that is done on my vehicles here. However, I took my car in a few weeks ago. include with other services, I requested an oil change. Afterwards, my car seemed to run hard. Especially when starting in the morning, it sounds like a truck!
A couple of weeks later, my oil light came on. When checked out, there was no oil in my car at all. No leaks, No cracks..🤔
I didnt have any problem with my car in the past. Its a very good running car and always maintained. Curious about that last incident...
I have taken my cars for inspection. This is where other auto shops make money by reporting an issue which is not an issue for inspection to pass. Or report that you can’t drive in XX miles. It’s better fix now.
Abbots auto are honest. They suggest only if it’s required. Repairs pricing is reasonable.

Came here for a car inspection when I first moved to VA and the inspection was fast and priced fairly. Returned recently when my cars maintenance light came on; had my car back within 24 hours and it was just an oil change that was needed! Will definitely be coming back here whenever my car needs maintenance :)
Have been going to Abbott's for over a decade with half a dozen different vehicles. These guys are amazing, you are never sold anything you don't need and they know their stuff. Never had a single issue with any of the work they have done and have always felt they were priced competitively. Steve (one of the head mechanics) is great... there was one time he spent hours with the car and wasn't able to solve the issue (was to an electrical issue that was part of a recall that had shorted out almost all of the computer chips on the car) and he said it would need to go to the dealership. He refused to let me pay him for his time since the problem was not fixed despite me insisting that I pay him. Car ended up needing several thousand dollars of computer modules replaced which was luckily covered under the recall (eventually). That turned me into a customer for life.
They were able to fix my car very quickly for a fair price. They communicated with me through the whole process and were up front about everything. Very thankful to their skilled mechanics getting me back on the road the same day I dropped the car off for evaluation!
Steve worked it out so I could bring my car in at 7am in order for me to wait while the car was inspected. It only took about a half an hour. I was very pleased with the service.
I've been getting all of my work done here for years. They always do good work and are above board and very clear. An honest mechanic is worth their weight in gold.
Great! I called in around 7:30 this morning, needing brakes. They said they could work me in. I dropped it off around 8:15, and three hours later, everything was ready, and it was done at a very reasonable price. I couldn't ask for more.

Had my car towed to Abbotts yesterday and had the best experience! They were fast and efficient! Diagnosed my problem quickly and fixed it! Cost was reasonable too!
I used Abbotts to diagnose a wheel bearing issue and repair it. We dropped it off at 8:30 and they had it fixed and ready for pick up by 3 PM! Great service, fair pricing, and nice staff. I will definitely use them again.
I have been taking my cars here for services and repair work for the last 5 years and has been extremely satisfied with their work. Abbotts is decent car service. I took both my cars from simple oil change to some minor issues. Bottom line is that they are good at what they do and importantly they won't rip you off like other services. They don't sell anything more than you need. They don't force to buy parts. If you get it cheaper somewhere else, you can bring it and they charge just for labor. The only downside is finding a parking lot. Overall, I trust these guys anytime.
I'm a tow truck driver for Thomas Towing and Recovery in Richmond, and I have many customers who choose Abbotts to service their car. They're obviously good at what they do, or my customers wouldn't trust them.
I had high hopes for this place as all the reviews I read were great about them. I took my SUV in about a week ago for them to try and diagnose a noise I was hearing. I left my car there for the day and paid them 100 bucks. When I came to pick my car up that evening it was 8:30 at night and I went to start my car and the battery was completely dead. I was left alone in a dark parking lot (as a female) with a dead battery. I just bought a brand new battery a week prior to this - so I knew it was not an issue with the battery itself. I had to walk across the street to an open business to call roadside assistance and wait an hour for them to come out and help me. This should have never happened! The guy from the tow company said all the cables to my battery were loose & he could not tighten them. This was a total inconvenience as I had just gotten off work. When I called them on Monday to explain about my battery the manager told me to come in and he would look at it. He did, but yet another inconvenience as it made me late for work, but I needed my car fixed. I never once got an apology regarding this or anything, and this was my first appointment with them. Needless to say, I am not going back. Lastly, I took my car to the dealership so it was covered under my warranty. But, turns out both of the wheel bearings in the back were faulty - not just the one like Abbotts had diagnosed. They both needed replaced. So, I still would have been screwed if I only fixed the one side.
Great Service. Today 1/10 I went for state inception at 7 am. As soon as I gave the keys, they started working on it. This is the fastest service I ever got. Definitely recommend. Will be seeing you guys moving forward. Thanks 👍🏼
Very nice team that understands the customer and provides exceptional service. For the recent visit, got the rear brake pads for my van replaced and the total came to half of what other popular stores were charging. Will recommend to anyone looking for exceptional auto care!!
Abbotts Auto is excellent! After multiple years of trying multiple different mechanic shops, this one does a great job! I really appreciate that the folks at Abbotts give you a realistic time estimate and then actually get your service done within that time (or sometimes finish it early)! They have charged fair prices and don't hesitate to tell you if another place would be a better fit, which is amazing!
For example, one of my first experiences at Abbotts was calling them to ask if they replace tires. They said that they definitely could replace tires, but that I would likely get a better price and turnaround time at a place like Discount Tire (since Abbotts would have to order the tires beforehand). Their recommendation was spot on, and I appreciate their honesty!!
I have taken my car to their shop for oil changes and general maintenance ever since and they always do a great job! I've even called in with some diagnostic questions and they were very helpful over the phone. After so many negative experiences with other mechanics in the area trying to charge for services that the car doesn't even need, I am happy to have found excellent service and honest answers at Abbotts!

My experience with Abbotts has been honest and excellent - never before have I been told by a mechanic that a service was not actually needed for my car! Also, unlike my experience with most other mechanics, I have never got the impression that they were trying to upsell me on problems that don't exist!
And on top of everything else, their prices are reasonable!

A++ on installing a little FlowMaster noise on my RAM1500. Made an appointment 3 days out, gave me a ball park estimate. Hit the estimate dead on and it was done in less than 1 hour. Stop in and ask for Billy, the go to for custom work and a top notch Master Mechanic. I’ll be back!
I've been going to Abbotts for years and they've never let me down. I own several types of vehicles and they can do it all. I send all of the elderly ladies I know to Abbotts as I know they're honest and do good work.
Been coming here for years, the only car shop I've encountered where they're completely honest and don't try to upsell you on repairs you don't need. Never had any issues taking my car here.
