10/21/2025 Petersburg Courthouse parking area My family parked in an area where the court parking attendant directs people to park often. Apparently there is a non visible sign that even the attendant isn't aware of. A tow truck from J&R towing was also parked there, and proceeded to tow 2 cars as soon as they went inside the Courthouse. This is not only unethical but its also illegal entrapment. Does the owner know this is being done? Is he behind it? Each person had to figure out a way to the tow yard and pay $210 to get their car back. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Do better!

J&R Towing is better than their neighbors Final Notice Towing. They pick up the phone when called and help out even when it doesn’t require them to. Final Notice didn’t pick up their phone after towing a car in an apartment complex that wasn’t suppose to be towed. It took over 30 phone calls within 3 hours to reach them, and 10 of the calls were while they were open during business hours DURING A DAY THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO BE OPEN 24 HOURS. Give your business to J&R, not Final Notice.

They are very fast and reliable , very understanding would recommend for any tow related issues best I’ve worked with thus far !

they have towed my car twice from my complex with a valid parking pass. ive paid both times since even tho the pass was visible it had fell down on the seat, today i retrieved my car and its making a rattling/grinding sound AND my skid plate was hanging off ripped snd dragging. This place is seriously messed up and i will be reporting this to my apartments as well. They clearly cant properly tow a car. Out of every car in the parking lot with no sticker or parking pass they towed mine probably because of the out of state tags. These people are terrible and they do not know how to properly tow a vehicle my car is all scraped up. THEY ALSO TOWED MY FWD CAR BACKWARDS WHICH CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION !! I WORK ON CARS SO I KNOW A LOT OF THIS STUFF ! it takes a lot of force to rip off that skid plate ! ive had this car for years and have gotten it towed for repair reasons. i wasn’t even mad about my car being towed because i forgot to put back up the parking pass, until i realized the damage. a car thats really illegally parked and being towed doesnt even give grounds for you to damage it.

Absolutely predatory, will disregard parking passes and tow anyways. Refuses to accept any payment but cash so you can't dispute the charges with your bank

My car was wrongfully towed even though I had a valid parking pass clearly displayed. This company towed my vehicle from my assigned spot despite my parking pass being visible on the dashboard. I followed all the rules, yet I still had to pay to retrieve my car—costing me both time and money I shouldn’t have had to spend. It’s frustrating to be punished for doing everything right. This kind of carelessness affects real people’s lives. Mistakes happen, but there was no effort to correct theirs.

If I could give this establishment a zero I would. They are extremely predatory, unprofessional, and sketchy. I just moved into this apartment complex yesterday and they towed one of my visitor's cars because they claimed they couldn't see the parking pass. Once they realized the parking pass was hanging onto the rearview mirror and was 100% accurate with date/time they decided that they'd only charge half price to take the vehicle out of impound. That is absolutely insane, and I'm going to reach out to my apartment complex or anyone that can help. This is a headache that no one wants to deal with ESPECIALLY during the moving process.

SHADY & PREDATORY! This towing company camps out in residential parking lots often! My vehicle was towed from outside my apartment complex yesterday for “no visible parking pass”. I argued that it fell out the window, but was still on the floor of the vehicle. Expensive mistake but I paid the $250 to get it immediately. I got back at close to midnight last night. I just woke up at 4AM & my car is gone AGAIN. After paying $250 I didn’t have, I can assure you I made sure that the tag was current and visible when I parked home again. My mother was there and can confirm. I’m trying to contact this towing company to get my car & nobody is answering. I have two 1yo old babies and all their things are in the vehicle, because I’m supposed to be driving them to New York right now! This is just predatory and harassment, because they see I have NY plates!

This company is really fraudulent they going to sit there and steal people cars for NO apparent reason at all. All because of a parking pass that was in the car visible like it should have been they just want people money then the lady going to sit there and laugh in my face like it was funny I was already pissed off because of it then she made it worser lied to my face and said they sent an email to the apartment complex when I literally went into the rental office and they had NO DOCUMENTATION of them towing my car this place NEEDS TO SHUT COMPLETELY DOWN AND NOT OWN NOT ANOTHER SO CALLED TOWING BUSINESS LIARS LIARS LIARS AND THIEVES

I was parked at the library. They towed me. There apparently is a sign say violators will be towed. However that is if you are not at the library. The library parking and apparently runs into or overlaps the private parking. It should have more than one sign indicating which spaces are for private parking verses private parking. All the other vehicles in the parking lot didn’t have a parking pass. However my vehicle was the only one that was of value. So they towed me. My grandson is disabled. And for these causes I am suing them!

Not only is this place a joke of a business but they’re desperate for business. They “patrol” apartment complexes and tow anything they can. My parking pass was on my back windshield…it’s a sticker and all of my vehicles (4 vehicles) have the sticker on the back windshield yet they towed the smallest vehicle. They claim it has to be on the windshield….they don’t make the rules but they want to act like they do. Plus the lady at the front is incredibly rude. With her fake long nails snapping on her phone the whole time. They basically steal from u then make u go at there pace to get ur own car back. I can’t express how much I hate this place. It’s a sorry business model, crazy these people depend on screwing people over to make a living. Imagine saying u do that for a living. Absolutely pathetic.

This business is a joke. Arbitrary 15 minute time slots to get your car back, with no prior notice or anything. So I paid for an Uber to get here and now will have to buy a whole extra Uber just to not get my car. They "close" at 1 on Saturdays, but I guarantee they would happily come out here to tow somebody away from a legal spot. I've been towed multiple times by them despite have a parking pass properly displayed. Tomorrow is easter and now I won't have my car till Monday.

Final notice Towing company illegally Towed my car From the residence Westover Hills apartment complex For not having a front license plate visible on my car, which is a complete joke Had several cars with no front license plate never had an issue Before, also my car has been on the property for about 2 to 3 months and never had an issue before, but for some reason this day they decide to Tow my car. Complex is getting Rid of them because they’re shady, And I hope that company goes bankrupt. Also, the lady at the front desk is a very nasty lady, extremely unprofessional and rude. She talks to you through a window! 🤡

I wanna take accountable for my actions. From day one years ago J and R owners are consider to me like family. Personally without them my daughter wouldn't be in the house I pick out before I had to turn myself in years ago. This morning word for today is accountability Thats all

I recently had the pleasure of using J&R's services two days in a row and I can't say enough good things about my experience. Dale and Ryan went above and beyond to help me. They arrived quickly, were extremely professional, and took great care in helping me back on the road. What really stood out was their kindness and willingness to go the extra mile. Their customer service was exceptional, and they turned a stressful situation into a manageable one. I highly recommend this company to anyone in need of towing services. One of their drivers was trespassing on my property. When confronted he ran like a b and wouldn’t stop to talk to me once the cops came they called dispatch and they said there were gps dings of a stolen rental car near my property so he takes upon his self to walk in my back yard even when you have 3 no trespassing signs when he was confronted he left at a high rate of speed and was reckless

They towed my car from my friends apartment complex for literally no reason. I have being coming to my friends place for YEARS and have never had an issue. The lady on the phone told me I had to have a parking pass. My friend reviewed his lease and not once did it say visitors must have a parking pass. I also spoke with an associate who works for the apartment complex and she said as long as visitors are in a designated visitor parking spot no towing should be required. It’s a shame companies such as this one do such shitty things to people.

These people post they are open 24 hours but they aren’t. They are open 11-1 on weekends but don’t have their website reflect that. There is a sign in the door only. Today the credit card reader wasn’t functional so payment had to be in cash. Yes, everyone has $200 cash on hand. Had to visit ATM and return to stand in line with all the other frustrated individuals. Colonial Apartments is a joke and the cause of this issue. Complaint about their requirement of a parking pass daily from midnight to 6 am will be posted on their website. I am wondering how much kickback Colonial Apartments gets from JR Towing.

I called this company to tow my vehicle to a mechanic. I gave clear information of where the car was located and let the dispatcher know that the car needed to be jumped (dead battery). I was told no problem, they could jump it for an extra fee. I traveled to meet the tow truck because I had the key. I also told the driver the battery was dead. The driver arrives then tells me he does not have any jumper cables, therefore my car could not be towed and the ground was too wet to back the tow truck up to the cars location. Again, I made it very clear the battery was dead and knew I would need a jump it in order to move the vehicle closer to the tow truck. This was a huge inconvenience for me today. The lack of communication could have saved the driver and myself from wasting our time. The driver even suggested before arriving I could pay and didn’t have to wait with the car. Good thing I waited. I wish I had looked at the reviews beforehand.

The team there at J&R Towing is second to none. They came through for me when my vehicle broke down on 95. I highly recommend you consider them if you're in a bad situation. Chris is a fantastic tow truck driver who knows his stuff and he has a big heart. I understand that this service is mostly thankless. So let me take this opportunity to thank all of you at J&R towing for taking care of me and my family. 5/5

Had the misfortune of interacting with an employee of this towing company. I’m parked within the confines of my apartment complex where I live, yet am subjected to some shady contract that must be set up specifically to screw anyone over as they please, as I am told my car will be towed within the next seven days if I don’t update my inspection sticker. I was overtly accused of taking a previous sticker off (how COULD anyone forget such a sticker- I had to scrape it off my window with cleaning solution and my fingernails) spoken down to like I was some meth head (when in reality I’m an elementary school teacher who quite literally neglects damn near every aspect of my own life because I’m very consumed by my job), all in spite of having proper registration and an apartment decal sticker. I am thankful for the fire set under me to attend to my own life, but don’t be sending people out who cannot differentiate between the people they are dealing with for the narrow minded stereotype through which they must stigmatize and condescend the individuals they meet.

They are a scam they tow for my apartment complex and have towed my family and friends cars at least 10 time when i've lived here for 7 months and charge 200 with a pass in the vehicle or not, we've tried reasoning with them multiple times that it is absolutely ridiculous to tow the cars with passes then make up lies about other months being circled when it wasn't.

Had 2 cars towed and both were damaged where the operator entered the right side. The operator scratched my window & piano black trim on one car and did the same damage to a second car. When calling/texting with the company I heard nothing back from them regarding my damage. I volunteered to meet with the to show them the damage and heard nothing back from the company!!! Do yourself and you car a favor...do not use them!!!

This company is doing shady business. I’ve been a resident of an apartment community for 2 years and unfortunately, THIS PARTICULAR company has a contract to tow vehicles on the property when there is a parking violation. As a resident, my guests have followed protocol by using current parking tags when visiting. My boyfriend was parked at my residence for 3 hours with the proper month’s tag but simply forgot to circle the actual date on the pass. Clearly the pass was current with the current month and had not exceeded the limit for that month. This company towed early that morning & didn’t report anywhere so we were without any idea where to locate the vehicle. We did locate the community’s sign with the towing company’s contact so that we could be in a position to retrieve the car. When we arrived to the towing company’s address, this dude tells us he doesn’t open until 11am!!!! He had been towing cars in the early morning hours with proper parking tags visible, yet he tows to make a dirty dollar with the nerve of keeping his trash towing office location closed until 11am. We were willing to pay right then and there but instead he argues with us and refused to allow us to pick up the vehicle until 11am. There was a line of cars alongside my boyfriend’s vehicle at this towing company location with the same proper parking tag of which he towed from my apartment community so he makes his dirty money by robbing others. It’s one thing to be without tag or an expired tag but he makes his money by robbing others because of the actual date not circled which was an oversight on our end and we were first time offenders to that mistake. He doesn’t deserve to benefit from his contract and I’ll take this grievance as high up the ladder as I can. This guy is a snake. Never call him for business. I will be reporting him to lease office and Better Business Bureau.

My car was towed from the spot in the photo this past Wednesday. After finding out my car was towed, I called and asked why for the last 3 months someone has been parked there with no consequences, yet I park there ONCE (like ever) and I got towed. Woke up this morning to go get my car from their tow lot and saw a car in the exact place I was towed from. When I mentioned this to the tow company, showed the photo to her, and she ignored that fact and proceeded to ask for $250. I told her I was more than willing to take accountability for my actions, but where was the consistency in their towing???? My wife stayed up all night waiting for this car to be towed, it’s almost 3 pm and it’s still there. I am embarrassed that a woman owned company is basically picking and choosing who they are going to bully out of their money. PSA to anyone parked somewhere they shouldn’t be, even if no one else has gotten towed.

As I read all the reviews I noticed the perfect reviews, come from customers whom called to request towing. Eric was very aggressive, as he ran back to his tow truck, quickly rolling up his window, driving off, after hooking up my elderly mother's car in broad daylight, as I was visibly trying to get his attention, I then throw up each of my arms, in disbelief. Eric, then rolled down the window, aggressively saying "Do not talk to me unless you are going to pay the fee to drop this car down!", I asked Eric why speak to me this way, I am a person, also. I then started videoing, once he seen the phone, the cost of dropping the vehicle went from $50 to $40. The vehicle was retrieved, note: there wasn't any signs stating "parking was not allowed". I then called J & R, Kerry answered, she was NOT customer service friendly either, I then asked to speak to the owner. JeNay, the owner called me back, her tone was much more customer service friendly. I say all this to state "Without customer service, companies will not thrive". How associates act in front of their superiors, should be how they continue to treat others throughout the day, not Go from being a devil, to an Angel, when the owner get involved. "Have to do better managing JeNay", whether it's a tow, in the right or wrong, your employees should always keep it professional. ***Customer Service is 🔑*** We are why you are still in business.
