Should be charged with auto-theft. They towed my car from my apartment complex parking lot even though I have a very visible sticker on my windshield. Called that night and gave the lady on the phone a very vague description of my car and where it was taken and she confirmed it was towed. Next day I go to pick it up and I give the dude the model/year of my car, where it was towed from, the license plate (which he read back to me after telling him). He tells me the police have no record of it being towed and looked at the security cam for half a second saying it's not there. Called the police after and they confirmed it was towed. When I went back he said he misheard my license plate. Pretty sure they were blatantly lying to get me to pay storage fees. Anyways after an hour and a half I get my car back and have to pay 125$ because the "sticker was expired". Thankfully my landlord called them and told them they messed up so it's being refunded. Absolutely ruined my night (had a show to go to) and I missed thanksgiving lunch with my grandmother. EDIT: LOL THEY DID IT AGAIN AS OF MAY OF 2025. SAME SCHEME. I CALLED, SAME GUY (RECOGNIZED HIS VOICE) SAID THEY DIDNT HAVE MY CAR AFTER I GAVE HIM THE VIN, MODEL, LICENSE ETC and told me to contact the police because it might be stolen. I contacted my landlord and thankfully a lady called me and apologized and brought my car back after threats of having to get police involved. This company is scum and whoever keeps LYING about NOT HAVING YOUR CAR and saying its been stolen should be fired. Absolutely unacceptable.

Changed the sign in front of a business from a $75 flat rate to listing no price in the middle of the night. They then call businesses before they even open to ask how long cars have been there, without giving them a chance to contest. (Mine was parked around 1am. I have fibromyalgia and can't walk all the way from the nearest free garage to my boyfriend's apartment. I have been parking in that lot for a year with no issues.) They will then tell you that the business *specifically told them to tow* when that isn't true. They'll also charge you extra if you don't pay them through their Venmo or Cashapp. This business is borderlining on money laundering. If you can, avoid parking anywhere that mentions this company on the sign!

Thank you Sean for being so kind and understanding, even in the middle of the night! Called around 1 am or so because I thought I needed a tow because my shifting knob was stuck in park. Dispatcher was very nice and Sean called me back promptly to get my location and the details of the situation. Sean showed up within 30 minutes and checked it out, turns out I didn't need a tow after all, and he was extremely kind about the entire situation, even though I felt silly and bad that I called them out in the middle of the night and didn't need to after all! I had already called several locations around san marcos before calling them, and NONE of them had a driver available on a week night! I was so happy they were able to help and were so great about it too! I will definitely remember them and be using them if the unfortunate event comes when I actually DO need to be towed. Thanks guys! Y'all are amazing! Shout out to Sean for sure he is great!

Impound yard's address is not listed or posted they are running a scam it seems constantly. The night guy is smoking dope I am pretty sure. Just wow I can't believe that the police would let these guys impound your car. Make you wonder what is going on in Sam Marcos

An unexpected tow …. This is the place to call if you need a tow! Very friendly….like customer service second to none! They were able to hold my truck in the yard and then recommend a shop for the repair. This is a huge plus since I am visiting from out of town. It’s college move in and had a trailer, so they were able to take care of that as well. I highly recommend Southwest Towing! Thanks Larry!!

Crappiest towing ever. Their truck was smoking, and they were stranding families for no reason but money. It was college moving day and there was nowhere to park but an abandoned parking lot. It said customer parking only when there were NO BUSINESSES. None whatsoever. So it was just a lot to get your car towed for no reason. Thankfully they were scared of us (me and my family) so they told us where it was. Again, thank god that we had another car since they were towing the nicer ones first, so we didn’t walk. On the way back, I saw an ENTIRE fricking family standing in the middle of 4 empty parking spaces. How sad. Get a job that doesnt involve ruining a family’s day.

Thieves who run an illegal scam. One man sits and watches to notify tow driver the instant you walk away from vehicle. Your car will be gone in minutes. Staff is also RUDE af. I have cursed this business and they will befall a terrible fate for their evil practices. In addition, am pursuing legal action against this auto-theft ring.

i just got home from out of town with a new car i got as a early christmas gift so i haven’t gotten a sticker for it yet. not even 20 minutes after arriving i walked back outside to continue to grab my things to find that my car was being towed. I explained the situation and still had to pay for my car to be released. now i have to just hope that they don’t take my car again until the leasing office opens up and i can get my sticker.

If I could press charges for ugly, mean, nasty, lying, predators, I would. This company towed my daughters car from a restaurant she was in 4 minutes after she parked. I’m sure they patrol the lots in which they have signs. It was late in the evening and dark. Her boyfriend took her to get her car. The people there were mean and nasty to both of these kids, not allowing him to go back ( behind a rusty metal wall in the woods) to get her car. This is like something out of a horror movie! Young college students are struggling anyhow, and the “fees” attached can put them in a dire situation. This is clearly predatory and mean spirited. This business needs to be investigated by the city and college. Terrible human beings!!!

If I could give this company negative 1000 stars I would this place is so trash! They towed our car from our apartment complex with visible permanent tag and claimed he didn’t see the tag. Tried to charge us 250 dollars for there scam. So do yourself a favor do not use these crooks..

If you ever need a jump start, call these guys. If they are busy, you may have to wait a good while, but they will show up, unlike some of the other companies I called today. The above text is an edit of my original review that changes it completely. These guys edited my original review, so they are liars and underhanded. I called them for a jump start, and never heard another word out of them.

Do not use this towing service. They openly mistreated my family and didn't care. Our family had them scheduled to come help us unload a heavy item at 10 AM. I called them at 10:45 because they were running 45 minutes late. The dispatcher answers, then tells us that they weren't going to come at all. I told them that we had movers at our home. That we were all waiting for them and that we had relied on them to do what they said they'd do. They didn't care. They just told me to have a nice day and hung up the phone. I can’t believe anyone allows themselves to treat others this way. It's not right. Southwest Towing should be ashamed of themselves. Use another towing company.

Middle of the night, ~1:00am, Thursday, 24 March, 2022. Called SW Towing. Said I was in a predicament & needed a tow truck. Dispatcher contacted a driver who contacted me. Driver said where he was and approximate time he'd arrive at my location. Arrived on time. Assessed the situation. Worked quickly and efficiently to extricate my vehicle from construction trench. It cost me some, but under the circumstances was worth every penny. Thank you Sean and Southwest Towing.

Thank you so much Southwest Towing for doing an awesome job! Shout out to Sean! He was super sweet and friendly! Very professional and helpful. Be careful reading the bad reviews, it’s a shame some of the reviews overshadows their good work.

Just awful. They not only take your vehicle and hold it but, they also charge you for days they are not open. They will also tell you they are open and then they are not. I tried to ask one of the ladies working there for help and she ran away from me and kept avoiding me the entire time. I had to chase her all around the tow yard to try and get help. I ended up having to talk to a tow driver who was very nice to help me but, I still couldn't get my vehicle. It is a huge scam and I hope no one has to use this company or get towed by them. Good luck trying to get your vehicle back, they will hold it and charge you a ton of money for it and change the prices when they feel like it. My car went from $280 to almost $600 in the course of 4 days.

I got towed from a place that was supposed to be overflow parking after just moving into the place. On another note, after expressing that I just moved in they gave me a reduction in price. Nice gentlemen helped me and made everything easy. He is the only reason they even got 2 stars though!

Today 8/28 I saw southwest towing recover a silver Mazda sedan that I presume was illegally parked in the jack in the box parking lot. After hooking up the car the driver who had long hair attempted to go through the drive through to get something to eat but subsequently struck the dumpster with the dolley beneath the car dislodging it from its proper position and wedging it beneath the car, undoubtably causing damage. The driver than backed out of the drive through and quickly tried to rectify his mistake before being seen and sped off shortly after. First of all I hope this persons vehicle wasn’t damaged during this instance and secondly if it was I hope this company admits fault and repairs whatever they likely just broke.

5/19/20 I parked in the same spot at Faust bridge as I've done for years, the business was not open, all parking spaces were open. I arrived back to find my vehicle had been towed to San Marcos. They charged me $290 to get my truck. There are tow signs but the owners never have called to have anyone towed before. The signs say $75 towing but have been painted over. The price to get my vehicle out was ridiculous! I'll except that I parked parked in the wrong spot, but how can you paint over posted signs and price gouge people like this! It's robbery! I will be making a complaint to the better business bureau and taking photos of the painted over signs. This is not right in any way.

Caught the presumed owner trying to run a scam. At the Faust Bridge (Millside) there are signs for towing that show $75. The entire Milltown district was closed for Mothers day, and their lot was empty. Their towing has never been enforced until this new company took over, so a lot of us got surprised. (Fair enough I guess.) The reason we were towed though wasn't due to the venue calling on us. Nobody was there. Instead, one of the SW Towing employee's was hiding in the back of the parking lot in a dark car and calling it in as people drove up. They swooped in and towed out vehicles until the lot was clear. Immediately after, another one of their employee's in a white ford got out and started painting white over the "$75 Tow Fee" on all of the signs to hide the price. Lucky for me, I was smart to record this on my GoPro as proof and got before/after footage. On one of the signs, he didn't even cover it enough. I walked over and filmed it with the thin layer of paint, then he saw me and came back and completely covered it. (See pics) Once I and some other towed vehicle owners arrived at Southwest Towing, we were told it would be $250 plus fee's. We immediately rejected this. The fee said $75 before it was quickly painted over AFTER our vehicles were already towed, and all the signs inside of the Towing complex had black duct-tape over their prices. (I filmed that as well.) Some had other stickers blocking prices or marker writing for the prices. The presumed manager we were speaking with was telling MANY lies about how the signs were painted over weeks ago. He continued to lie as I proved him wrong, and upon discovering I had recordings he would just keep trying to evolve his lies based off information I fed him. Eventually his only defense was "Well you read the sign when you parked there!" to which we pushed back and demanded that those same signs also said $75! The sign either means exactly as it says, or it means nothing at all... You can't have it both ways and just invent your prices on the fly! He said many of other sketchy things that were recorded, including that since he wasn't in New Braunfels city limits and didn't have to obey their laws. After a small group of us pressured the hell out of him, he eventually admitted they made a mistake on the sign paintings and got us out at the $75+fees price. $111.30 total. He didn't give a name, but his shirt said "Old Poor Boy" I think. I considered taking this to the Harold Zeitung, and someone else is considering a lawsuit and reporting it to the Better Business Bureau. I would heavily recommend checking into see if you might have been included in this scam attempt. I will gladly pay my wrong-doing of $75 as stated on the sign, but I will not let evil people try to take advantage of me. I lucked out to have my GoPro on me coming out of the river to record what happened, and I firmly believe that's the only thing that protected us from this scammer.

Don't waste your time! "Find another wrecker service" is what I was told after they did not communicate with me whatsoever after I ordered the tow & waited hours. I couldn't give zero stars for their incompetence. Untrustworthy "company" who's drivers LIE to the receptionist to get out of towing one car 5 minutes! . Avoid at all costs, this is the second time they couldn't do their job!

They took my brand new car without licenses plates from my own apartment complex after the office had already closed. I called their business several times over an hour nobody picked up. I came up there myself thinking it was busy, nobody was at the front desk. Had to call police non-emergency just to get someone on the line. Still took over 30 minutes for them to come.

My car was stolen and later picked up by police. This is the towing company that impounded it. The woman on the phone was extremely rude but we paid our impound fees and a wrecker came to pick it up. The same woman later claimed that the car was still there and we owed her $70 more dollars. We verified that the wrecker had already picked the car up. When we called her back to let her know that she must be confused, she answered by screaming and then hung up on us. She made this nightmare situation 10x worse. Shame on SW towing for having such low end employees.

Good news for bad parkers! I work as an assistant property manager of a small apartment complex with limited parking. Over the course of the past year I've called this company at least 12 times to come tow cars that are illegally parked. The good news is this company seems to have a legit side hustle because they haven't shown up a single time when called but somehow can afford to stay in business. Will be dropping the contract and hopefully never dealing with these people again.

Why is there NO stars? One of their employees had my daughter's car "about" to be hooked as they were putting up their tow signs. Noticing the man, my daughter asked if that was a tow, and if so, she would gladly move it. He ignored her. He continued to chain up her car then rudely told her she could have her car back if she paid him CASH $50. She had no money and he suggested her that if she would go to an ATM, withdraw the money, and give it to him, he would give her car back. That is a "business" armed robbery . They have your car, forcing you to withdraw money, and holding your car ransom. If you are thinking of doing business with this company don't. The problem is finding a towing company that is reputable. I reported this to our bank and I'm filing a complaint with the BBB. Don't do business with this company.

Simple and to the point. Have a bad experience with them but they are humble and only doing their job. There was a misunderstanding about a friend's car being towed from my apartment. He had a visitor pass but they towed it before he could even realize that he needed to put the visitor pass inside right away. With no hesitation, they took his car with no warning. We got it back of course, within that same day. Straight forward process. They are only trying to keep people safe.

So I got my car towed at Copper. & I knew they towed but I completely forgot and parked anyway so it was my mistake. I'm giving them 5 stars because they were very responsive and I got a call back when they missed my call the first time. A man named "david" helped me figure out what i needed to get my car out. He was very nice. These people have to deal with a**holes everyday so I appreciated his patience with me. Anyway, I got my car out and it was $118.22 for 1 day. Cheaper than other places that tow. If you know you messed up just pay the fee. if your friend lied to you then make them pay half. :)

We've called southwest towing 4 times for the same car. They're the only company to tow for our apartment complex and we had to park outside the gates. We pay for a covered spot. We called and 2 hours later still nobody has come by. It's ridiculous.
