Updated review in progress. Highly disappointed... Not sure why you edited your review, but I know why I'm updating mine. When you have your car "repaired" here, you should consider waiting and driving it for some time before writing a review. Ill spare you the multiple frustrating details I've had since my car was supposedly "fixed". Basically it's been a trial and error guessing game to try to diagnose the issue. A $4000 bill that I've had to return 2x for 2 of the same issues. It's understandable that you're mad that I brought my car in again -for the same issue! What's puzzling is why you think I'm idle enough to want to do that. I'm not paying for repairs so you can play guessing games. Obviously if the issue isn't fixed the customer will be back. It doesn't make you look good to cop an attitude, be condescending, and attribute it to the age of the car or that I'm trying to take advantage of you. Are you kidding me! I'll spare the details because I ended up getting an apology (after the fact). That doesn't change the facts of what happened. Just had major work done on my SUV that's been having several issues going wrong over the past few months. I knew sooner or later the repairs would get costly but I was worried about finding a trustworthy mechanic and shop. I found that in Cinco Auto. Tommy at the front desk was patient and pleasant, taking notes on several issues i had. Once the car got taken in for diagnostics, I got immediate feedback from Jim. Jim's longevity and expertise shows in his communication and work. First thing he realized was i had the wrong battery type for my car; good battery, but wrong type. That already solved 60% of my dilemma. He gave me a thorough diagnosis and quote and provided me a loaner. When he found other issues he updated me as necessary. It was a 3 day job and as much as it put a dent in my pocket, they went above and beyond with great service, concern, compassion to address the repairs as empathetic as possible. Jim, Cody and their team are trustworthy, friendly, funny, and warm. Thank you for bring a great community resource and I hope you maintain this level of service and even more.

We called and inquired about a smoke test and gave all specs info about make year and model of our vehicle. Upon being told it was good to bring it in, we took it in. The manager, Jim, proceeded to deny service to my husband based on the and I quote “The car should have been thrown away after 80k miles” he said it would cost more to work on than it is worth. We didn’t ask for his opinion, what we specifically asked for was to find out where the vacuum leak is. We were trying to pay for a service that they offer and they had it predetermined in their mind they didn’t want to work on it.

Jim and the rest of his team are amazing, and you can trust their expertise without having to worry if you are getting up-charged and paying for unnecessary maintenance. I recently took my vehicle to CincoAuto in Katy for a rear brake replacement and a full brake flush, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. From the moment I walked in, the team was professional, transparent, and efficient. They took the time to explain the condition of my brakes and why the flush was necessary for maintenance, which I really appreciated. The work was completed in a timely manner, and my car is now braking smoothly and quietly—exactly what you want after a brake job. It’s hard to find a shop that combines quality mechanical work with honest customer service, but CincoAuto definitely delivers. If you’re in the Katy area and need reliable brake work or general maintenance, I highly recommend checking them out!

Great shop - took my car in for an alignment with aftermarket shocks and upper control arms. Adel M. did an awesome job and made sure to take my input into account when doing the work (camber and toe specifics). They’re upfront with pricing and it was reasonable for my car and requests. Shop waiting room was clean and ALL the staff were friendly and helpful. 14/10 would recommend. I will definitely be going back here!

I had my 2019 towed in for a water pump replacement, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. The team was very transparent about pricing and exactly what work was needed. They were informative and provided excellent customer service throughout the process. Special thanks to Jim, Kevin, and Cody for helping me out and staying open so I could pick up my suv. I truly appreciate it and would definitely recommend this shop to everyone!

I have been bringing all four of my cars to Cinco Auto in Katy for the past eight years, and they have consistently gone above and beyond. Whether it’s something simple like an oil and filter change or more involved service, the quality of work and customer care has always been outstanding. On one visit, my car took about 45 minutes longer than the time I was originally told, and without me even asking, the manager took $50 off my bill as a courtesy. Jim’s professionalism and friendliness encouraged me that I was at the right place to have our car’s breaks repaired. The service at the front desk was excellent. I turned in my car for repairs around 7:30AM. And was notified via text that the car was ready for pickup around 10:30AM. That was awesome! Last, a strong recommendation: All Veterans should be honored and helped with better prices for those who faithfully served our country.

I’m always cautious with mechanical work and prefer not to judge too quickly, but this experience was disappointing. My car’s check engine light came on, and an AutoZone scan showed the thermostat was likely the issue. I took it here and paid $129.99 for a diagnostic, expecting a clear explanation. Their response was: “It could be the sensor or the thermostat, and we need to change both — otherwise, we can’t warranty the repair.” The total estimate was around $1,300. That didn’t make sense — I paid for a diagnostic and expected them to narrow it down! So I went to a well-known, reputable shop in 77079, which confirmed it was only the thermostat and fixed it for $227. Two weeks later, the car runs perfectly fine. Lesson learned: This shop didn’t build trust. The diagnosis was vague, the price excessive, and the warranty excuse unnecessary. I recommend finding a mechanic who focuses on honest diagnostics and fair pricing, not pressure tactics.

Oh my gosh! This place is awesome. Not only did they do a great car wash, but they communicated clearly and asked if there was anything I needed extra. I pointed out a tiny little spot and they went right to work on it. Plus, if you leave a review, you get five dollars off your next car wash so heck yeah! Yeah, I’ll check this place out

I highly recommend this car shop! The manager Cody and his team went above and beyond in caring for my Volvo. He provided super thorough answers to all my questions, gave me a great deal, and provided multiple complimentary services which saved me a lot of money. Update: After posting this review, Cody from Cinco Auto reached out to me directly. He offered a sincere apology for the way he spoke to me, which I appreciated. However, my original concerns remain unresolved. Specifically, there was a discrepancy between the amount of oil I provided and what was returned to me, and I was later told it may have been used in a service that I also paid full price for. In addition, the way the situation was handled in the shop left me uncomfortable. I respect the effort Cody made to follow up, and I’ve noted that here so readers see both sides. At the same time, my overall experience with this visit still reflects what I wrote in my original review. I had a disappointing experience at Cinco Auto in Katy (25827 Cinco Ranch Blvd, Katy, TX 77494) during a recent oil change. I brought my own high-quality oil and original filter, as my car requires MB 229.5-approved oil that’s not typically available in stores. My vehicle holds 8.5 quarts with filter replacement, and I provided 10 quarts to ensure full coverage. When I returned, I was handed one of the two gallons I brought—with less than 0.1 quart remaining. After checking the car, we confirmed the correct amount was inside the engine, meaning several quarts were unaccounted for. When I asked about the missing oil, I was told it had all been used. Jim, who introduced himself as the manager, was respectful and offered two replacement quarts to make up for the discrepancy. However, another employee was loud, confrontational, and raised his voice, saying they would never accept customer-provided oil or filters again. His aggressive behavior made the situation uncomfortable. Jim later explained that my oil may have been used for an additional engine flush service—which I paid full price for—without informing me that my own oil was used. I find this unethical. If a service is charged at full price, it should include the shop’s materials—not mine. Between the missing oil, the lack of transparency, and the unprofessional attitude I encountered, I’ve decided not to return to this location. I appreciate Jim’s effort to resolve the issue, but the overall experience left me disappointed.

I went in for an emissions inspection and every person there was very friendly and made sure to inform me of everything I needed to know (as someone who is newly “adulted” and doesn’t know how everything works). Cody completed the inspection for me and it was completed in about 10 minutes. I definitely recommend Cinco Auto for any auto concerns, especially if you want a personable experience.

Visiting Cinco Auto was a welcome change to my neighborhood automotive business. I required a battery replacement and popped in to Cinco Auto as a first time customer. In less than 20 min, and for $150 LESS than my neighborhood service station …I was able to get a new battery AND now know where I’ll take all my car serving needs! They are reliable and trustworthy! I went in to have my car checked since the flat tire light was on. Adel welcomed me and listened to my concerns and immediately took action to address my car problem. Within less than 5 minutes, I had my car back with the air in my tires properly topped up and inflated and was good to go. Best of all, Adel didn’t charge me anything for the quick and efficient service. I will be using CincoAuto more moving forward. This business and their people know how to properly service cars and their clients.
