I’ve been recycling here so long but they now have restrictions & being picky on plastics to accept, which are only the ones they can sell $$$. It disappoints me. What happened to saving the environment which is why they are there to help dispose plastics? I’m finding other places that will help dispose ALL plastics.
This is so convenient; everything is clearly marked; there's never any wait to drop our stuff off and the weekend employees are helpful. So easy to recycle.
I like that this recycling center is available 6 days a week and that they take used oil, plastic, clear and brown glass, tin, aluminum cans, mixed paper, news paper and cardboard. There are no other recycling centers in the eastern portion of Chattanooga through Cleveland areas that are available this often and take as many recyclables. Also, I have always had friendly service from the attendants. Granted I'm just in, out and then on with my day usually only there for 4 minutes. But when I do see an attendant, I make sure to say hello and have always been greeted with a hello and smile back. I am thankful the center is in operation so I can do my part in helping to reduce waste.
**Please note: they do not accept plastic bags, wire fencing, dog/cat food containers (bags or cans), pizza boxes or styrofoam.
Absolutely rude every time. I have been going here for almost 7 years and I have never had an experience with one of the employees that was not terrible. They are all rude and condescending, which is so out of place considering that this is a facility designed to help well-meaning people recycle. Zero stars should be an option .
RUDE AS HELL! I pull up and one of the seemingly regulars or workers tell me to go talk to the man in the building. That's fine. 5 inmates come around my car, no one saying a word. So I walk towards the building and the guy says "thank you bye" as he is waving bye to me. mind you, I haven't said anything to the man so I ask if he was talking to me, and he says yes thank you bye. what is he thanking me for I haven't even said hello to him. The other worker says you have a tire right? I nod and say yes. The head guy says, well drop it off. I proceed to tell him I didn't know where. He says to me "well the guys are all standing RIGHT THERE to get it." uh, OK rude ass. How was I supposed to know. There isn't a manual that says drive to recycle and give inmates tire and be shunned and disrespected by the man "in charge". I gave them the tire, but I was very hesitant. I honestly wanted to just keep the tire and say forget it. But the inmates were cool when I told them what happened, they could tell I was livid and told me not to worry about him. somebody needs to get that together.
