I'm so thankful this place was referred to me! They go above and beyond to help fix any vehicle problems I've had. I finally found a place I can trust!! I highly recommend them for quality, affordable, honest and trustworthy work they've done on my car. I won't go anywhere else!!

Best prices in town. Willing to help find the best options and are one of the only places that didn't flat out lie to me about a special tool needed for the job Said special tool was the equivalent to a fancy stick and hammer to remove a pin. They knew they didn't need to use it and didn't try to charge me for ordering it.

Fast and friendly service at a fair price. My 76 year old Mom, my cat and myself were visiting Chattanooga when my battery died. We were stranded and needed to get to MO. They were there within 20 minutes and got us back on the road! Thank you so much!

Horrible service! Booked an Appointment a week ago for a job that was predicted to take under 2hrs. The point of an appointment is that time is scheduled for your vehicle. This was not the case, I called soon after dropping off my vehicle to get an ETA as to when it would be finished. I was immediately hung up on. I called back and spoke with a man who immediately told me to just come pick my car up if I'm going to "act like this". Asking for an estimated time of completion so that I can schedule my day accordingly is not unreasonable, being refused service because I asked for a time is poor customer service especially for an appointment that was scheduled a week in advance. Any car shop I've dealt with could give me an estimated time especially if we already know what the issue is and it's minor. Please shop elsewhere where professionalism is key.

Prompt service and reasonable rates. Great people to do business with. I will definitely go back for any repairs I need.

Dwayne is one of the best mechanics in Chattanooga for over 30 years he has been helping me and my family keep our vehicles running. They are very honest and hard-working I will not take my vehicle anywhere else

I went to their shop today because there was a strange noise coming from my brakes. I spoke to one of the staff members, and they told me to go to the front desk and talk to a white woman there. I went to the front desk and told her that there was a noise coming from my brakes and asked if someone could help me check it. I know my English isn’t perfect, but I clearly said “brake” and “check.” I don’t understand why she looked at me with such an indifferent expression and said she didn’t know what I was talking about. I felt discriminated against just because my English isn’t good. I don’t know why they treat customers like this, even if their English isn’t perfect. I don’t think I’ll ever go to this shop again because the attitude was terrible. I’d rather spend more money at a dealership than go to a place like this and be treated unfairly.

My 84 year old father stopped in last Thursday with a taillight out on his Buick and was prepared to make an appointment. He explained that he doesnt have a ton of money, but would like to know what it would cost to get it fixed. I'm states away so i can't do it for him. The extremely sweet lady at the counter told him she could get it taken care of for him That Day, and had him in and out within 15 minutes, and Only Charged Him for The Bulb!! Now THIS is Service!! I am a Service Advisor myself & this truly warms my heart when I hear that a shop is treating my father this way. I couldn't be more proud of Tranthams! They have been there as long as i can remember, and i hope they continue for many years to come! THANK YOU TRANTHAMS TEAM!! ❤️

I can't explain how much Trantham's has helped me with my car problems. They have very reliable and dependable mechanics. And have great customer service.

Overbooked results in long waits I had read/heard good things about this place, so I was initially happy to have them work on my project. However, that's where the problems started. Week-after-week they'd promise to start on my project and then fail to follow-thru. Clearly, they have too much work on their plate. Finally, I gave up on them after waiting more than a month for Trantham's Service Center just to get started on the work of installing my crate motor. Ultimately, it cost me $175 just to retrieve my property!

My axel fell out of my car leaving me, my daughter and my doggie stranded in the busy gunbarrel area- from the minute I called for a tow- was even taken home!-until my car was repaired I was treated with kindness and respect - I highly recommend Trantham's for great service, reasonable prices, and friendly faces! Had a issue with my alternator going out on my car and being stranded 2 hrs away from home and they got me back on the road with a new alternator and they was great on the price of part and labor and was back on the road in less than 3 hrs and couldn't have been helped any better by anyone else. Really appreciate the service and will be going back to them if any problems arise in the future.

I wasn't prepared for all I needed done, but this shop did a wonderful job of updating me at every turn & did all they could to get me back rolling. Even with one last issue they weren't able to take care of, they were able to provide a specialist to help address the issue. The greatest thing about this business is their wonderful and caring demeanor led by the greatest shop office manager ever. Amy was the best!!! I recommend Trantham 10 out of 10!

I called two weeks ago to set up an appointment for ac work on my car. Asked how long it would take they said two days and told me a date they could do it, and quoted a price. I told them that I couldn't be without my car for longer than the two days and I would drop my car off late on the evening before the day so that they would have two full days to do the work . I also explained that I would be renting a car during those three days so I needed the work completed. The lady told us no problem. So after I dropped my car off to them late Wednesday evening. I went and rented a car. Fully expecting my car to be completed on Friday. Well they called me this morning ( Friday) and they hadn't even started the repair to my car and they said the price jumped 200.00 dollars. They said it would be Wednesday or Thursday of next week for the repair to be completed. I told them not to touch my car. I would pay them what ever Was due for them just looking at it and I would find someone else to do my repairs. So there lack of professionalism cost me a 3 day car rental for nothing . I will not be using Thranthams for Any more car repairs. When I picked up my car I didn't even get an apology. Why set up appointments with customers if you are not going to honor them.

UPDATE: This following paragraph still rings true into 2023! Just had my vehicle serviced for an issue with one problem, and they figured out the single cause that ended up also fixing EVERY SINGLE other issue that I didn’t even come to have fixed this visit! My car is working perfectly now. My entire life banks heavily on reliable transportation. I can not express my gratitude enough. I refuse to go to any other mechanic. These people have always given me honest and straightforward advice and service and prices are heavenly affordable. This place has gone out of its way to assist me with my vehicle problems even during times when they don’t even financially benefit. I wish I had all the money in the world so I could just find excuses to take my vehicle to them. I’ve had so many mechanic chains try to sneak in charges by claiming I needed my oil changed when I didn’t and saying something needed replaced that was never broken, and Trantham’s provides that security and peace of mind every single time, which is INVALUABLE when going through the stress of vehicular trouble. They really know their stuff!

I moved to Ringgold about four years ago and have been going to Trantham's for all of my car maintenance on my two cars. All the crew are reliable, dependable and do a great job. I can tell you that there have been times I have asked for service and they inspect the component and tell me I don't need it yet. I appreciate their honesty and integrity. Been meaning to leave a review for this place for months and kept forgetting - I was traveling alone cross country this summer and got stranded in East Ridge with a brake fluid leak with no place to stay or friends/family to call. I found Tranthams on Google and went on a whim, they got me fixed up within the day and back on the road, even cost a bit less than my original quote. Everything has been running great since, thank you!

So far my Chevy Traverse has been there 3 weeks supposedly waiting on a part. It's been 5 days since I last called to check on it until yesterday. The girl answering the phone was so hateful and disrespectful I went off. They have one day to get my truck fixed or I'm taking it to Chevy. I will never use this so called company again. Your not going to disrespect me and talk to me like a dog when you have had my truck for 3 weeks and the final bill total is over a thousand. NEVER AGAIN!!!

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!! Total scam! I had my Chevy equinox towed from my house to tranthums because it went into low engine power mode and would not start. I called a couple times that week to see if they had a diagnosis. They did not. Finally called on a Friday (after they had my car for at least least a week) and the man basically told me not to call them, they’ll call me when they get to it. I waited the ENTIRE next week and did not hear from them. I called that Friday (after they’ve had my car for 2 weeks with no diagnosis) and get a voicemail that they were closed that entire week on vacation. None of them told me they wouldn’t be there and I would be waiting this long, which is extremely poor customer service. When he finally called me some time the next week he informed me that my high pressure fuel pump needed replaced due to a high reading. It would cost $1300. I didn’t know any better, and told him to fix it. A friend of mine said it didn’t sound like a proper diagnosis, but I was hopeful and trusted that they knew what they what they were doing. I should not have. After they replaced the high pressure fuel pump, my car still would not start. They told me that after further inspection a guide was broken on my timing chain. He told me I could either have my timing chain replaced for an additional $2308 and there is no guarantee my car will run after that because of possible damage to the engine. My other option was to buy a new engine and I was quoted between $7000 - $8000 on that from tranthams. After discussing how suspicious it all sounded with my friend who knows a more about cars than me, I paid the $1300 for the fuel pump (I didn’t even need replaced) and had it towed to another auto mechanic for a second opinion. The other mechanic shop was amazing, helpful, and quick to respond (NOT TRANTHAMS)! I had my car running and back to me the next day for $1400! When I picked my car up the new mechanic (NOT TRANTHAMS) informed me there was no way the previous mechanic opened the engine up enough to know if I needed a new engine or not. When I told the new mechanic the pressure the high pressure fuel pump was reading, prior to tranthams replacing it, he said it was a common reading for my car and it most likely didn’t need to be replaced. Tranthams scammed me out of $1300 by misdiagnosing the problem. They also tried to scam me into paying them $8000 for a new engine I didn’t even need when they hadn’t even opened up the engine enough to know if it needed replaced! I will never take my vehicle to this place again, and I hope that you save your time and money and go elsewhere!

What a fantastic shop. James (Semper Fi!) and Sammy went above and beyond when my family was traveling and ran into trouble with my Jeep. The way they treated us is what every company in the world should strive for. They were compassionate, understanding and helpful. I'm forever grateful for our experience with this company and would recommend them to anyone in need of auto repairs. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

After calling another company with horrible customer service and that company wanting to overcharge me, i'm súper grateful that others reviews of Tranthams urged me to cáll them. Not only was customer service better, i called not long before they were going to close and tow truck came quickly. Instead of having to be towed, David showed me how to get my gears unstuck and i was able to drive home AND they offered to refund most of the Money i paid over the phone. As hard as it is to find GOOD,HONEST mechanics, i KNOW where i will take my vehicles for any issues in the future. Thank you SO much Tranthams, Keep up the honest Good work, it is greatly appreciated!

What a great find. Our family had driven in from about 10 hours away, limping in on a bad wheel bearing hub. Tantham's was able to get us on the road the same day, and for a very reasonable price. They even came in under their estimate! Super nice people.

Well i would have liked to have given them a five star rating. But my last experience was a terrible one and will be my last experience I will ever have with trantham's service center. I paid my bill and picked up my truck that was supposed to fixed and on the drive home the truck i thought was fixed. The very next day my vehicle started doing the same thing as before so i took it back to them. So they had my truck for 2 weeks and i had to call to find out what the deal was. that was the first thing i mean i should have not had to call to find out what was going on. Well my call was transferred to the back to talk to the technician who looked at my truck. As soon as the guy picked up the phone he was rude and very disrespectful.the first thing he says is its your catalytic converter, i said oh okay well how come you guys didn't catch that when you guys had my truck and charged me almost 1,000.00 dollars to fix. His reply was did i really want to do that this morning i was like do what ask a simple question about the repair job that was done to my truck. He said for another 400 they could take it to maxi or i could take it either way it was B.S. so i went to get my truck and it is still not fixed. I think they messed up and didn't diagnose my truck rite and fixed some issues but not the major issue. And then to be rude about the whole thing was the last straw for me.i hope this review helps people to make the decision to not take their vehicle to tranthams. Thank you for reading.

Patrick was great. My Granddaughter had a blowout. Patrick arrived quickly Put on a spare. My Granddaughter then Followed him to the shop where he replaced her tire while I was able to talk by phone to the cashier. They also honored the tire warranty that we had on her car. Well Done!

These guys are the BEST! My truck broke down while traveling through town and they diagnosed and fixed the problem with ease. Got me back on the road and I finished the remaining 800 miles without a hitch! Knowledgeable staff, excellent prices. Highly recommend!

This guys are the best in town. They are honest and fairly priced. I have been having nightmare of experiences dealing with my Subaru at Kelly Subaru. And if the problem is not under warranty, I go to Trantham's. I even go to Trantham's to get Kelly work double checked. You absolutely can't go wrong with these folks.

I found Trantham's service center through a Google search. I had come to Chattanooga to visit family and was going to be here for a few days. I had towed my fifth wheel and noticed that the front of it was covered in oil. I had also been to Atlanta two months prior and had similar problems. Previously, they had replaced the ABS sensor on the top of the rear differential which was where the leak was. They, the other company was really nice but I felt that they were not really eager to help me. Needless to say, it was leaking again and it was due to aftermarket parts and lack of attention to detail. I pulled in to the RV park the night before and was searching for somewhere to go. I found Trantham's but was concerned as I didn't know anything about them, but they were right across the street. I felt like I should go to the Dodge dealer to have this done but didn't want to go that far. I showed up 20 minutes before they were scheduled to open to a very busy place as they were preparing for the day. I was asked if I could be helped, not shunned before business hours and my truck was taken into the stall for diagnosis. Before opening time, I knew what the problem was and what needed to be done. They ordered the part, accomplished the work and surprised me with an incredibly reasonable bill. I was prepared to pay much more than they charged as the other company had charged me double what they did and well look where I was, getting it fixed again. I would highly recommend Trantham's for your auto service, they even told me to come back by before I left and they would double check to make sure it was still good before I headed home to Texas. This is a class act. I could not give a higher recommendation than what I am.
