We stopped in a few days ago for a bulb for a car headlight. We had just recently changed the other side. Knowing not to touch the bulb owning a lighting store ..my husband purchased one and I replaced it. We'll this time it didn't light up. We pulled it out took it into the store and the lady at the counter..I asked if it was a good bulb. Well yes it came out of a package. I explained it's not working...I was holding the bottom not the bulb..she got all screaming Don't touch the bulb..we can't refund you it's out of the package. I said again can u test it or tell me if it's a good one? She said you will have to take your car to someone to test the electrical side...that's probably something like that. Thinking great we are retired just paid for new brakes..something else before xmas. So we waited made an appt at a shop that checks the car on machine..thinking $$$. Well we ended up paying an extra 50 for the checkup and another new bulb. I think we were worried about the outcome for days. I ended up trying to sell some things to pay for the couple hundred they mentioned. All of this could have been avoided.
I stopped by this AutoZone location late in the evening while on my way to Canada, after a panel came loose under my car. The staff went above and beyond to assist me—providing not only the necessary parts but also professional support and outstanding customer service. I truly appreciate their help during an unexpected situation. Thank you for your dedication and excellent service. Keep up the great work!
Possibly the best parts store in Altoona (if not for several towns around). Generally kind people with enough knowledge to get you what you need. The store is cleaned, organized, and stocked well. A good place to stop if your car is more rare or a project. They'll definitely see me again soon!
I had a wonderful experience! I drove in from New York and my windshield wiper flew off. I stopped in, and the manager got me new wipers and put them on for me! I was very impressed with his kindness and efficiency.
Stopped in and the store manager James Mock waited on me. We were having some major issues with our car while on a trip, and he was able to figure out what it was and then proceeded to take the time to fix it for us. He said it was an easy fix, and for him it may have been, but we were hours from home with bad weather so to us it was panic time. Would like to make sure someone knows how much of a valued asset he is to you and we appreciate him helping us.
My husband stopped in on Thursday James was at register . We were stranded, car stopped was told once started if no bumps get to auro zone. James was so helpful . We have had him before but we are one satisfied customer. He is so patient, listens and a wonderful PR person for the company. Our hearts are grateful. We are seniors he was so kind to us.

We broke a wiper blade on the way to the Altoona Curve game last night during the hard rain shower and knowing we had an hour and half drive home I called around to see if anyone had what we needed. An amazing employee named Rocko answered the phone and after telling him what i needed and where we were coming from he was willing to wait for us to get there even though it would be a few minutes after they were scheduled to close. There aren't many places that go above and beyond. Not only did he wait he changed my wiper blade and did it all with a smile and genuine kindness. The world definitely needs more people like this. Call this place to see if they had 40:1 per mix they yes and I ask how much they told and I said I will be down be for hanging my Austic son had a melt down they said you need to tell you retrted son to shut up and I ask what did you say the person you hear what I said I ask the person there name they hang up on me so I went to Napa instead at Napa they were very nice and help me out.
I walked into the store in need of Windshield wipers, and had the best customer service experience I've had in a while. Evan greeted me upon walking in and proceeded to help me find the best wipers for my vehicle. If you ever go to Altoona AutoZone, Evan will be of great assistance. He was friendly, personable, and knew his stuff. I'll be back - thank you again Evan!

What a great experience! Got a battery replaced yesterday for my new-to-me Honda. A very enthusiastic young man, CJ, did the work ... And truth be told I went there because of the excellent way he handled my earlier phone call. While he was busy working on my battery replacement I had a very pleasant discussion with some other people there. Recommend highly.
Fantastic customer service! I visited today with battery concerns. James the store manager took care of me personally. He tested my battery, made recommendations on what would work best, and made sure I understood everything. I also want to thank CJ for his enthusiasm and efficiency while changing my battery. I will definitely be back!
Have had good luck here. I bought some parts at advanced auto and they don't rent the tool to depress the caliper so I borrowed it for free from these guys. I'll buy my next parts from here. Customer service was good
Amazing location..... "Motorhead"group (I hope that term is taken with absolute respect) meets here Friday and Saturday nights. A group of them jumped in to analyze my son's car problems and resolve the situation. Auto Zone made out with parts we purchased and the good folks working there couldn't have been any more helpful... Thank you!!!
I appreciate the help that James gave me at the Altoona store. At 80, with arthritis in my hands, I was unable to loosen the hardware on my old license plate to install a new one.
James did that for me and even advised me about returning the old plate to the DMV. He is a very nice young man. Thank you, James.
I went in there looking for spray paint to paint my motorcycle, I needed alot of how to information as well. The kid in there sold me raptor paint brand and gave me tips and instructions on how to sand prime and paint. The paint worked great and i followed his instructions and everything turned out well.
The one young kid who works Sunday mornings went above and beyond for me in single digit temperatures. I had my check engine light come on about weeks ago and came here to have it checked. Nothing came up. A week later I had the same thing happen and came here again for a code scan. We went back in and got the code. He showed me the part that was bad which I needed to replace. Helped me get the part and I had my car fixed the next day.
They ordered the wrong computer for my truck. Had them order the right one was told it would be in by 930am the next day. Went in at 1030am it hadn't come in yet called at 500pm it hadn't come in yet was told it wouldn't be their until after 1pm the next day. Normally wouldn't be a problem but them ordering the wrong computer and telling me it was the right one cost me 700 in other parts and about 7.5 months of time wasted trying to figure out why it had no get up and go just to find out it was because of a screw up by them

Excellent service from a very friendly team. Would highly recommend them over the 'other guys' down the street. If they don't have it, they can get it relatively quickly. Prices are comparable to everyone else, but the service is what makes them stand at the top!
I called and spoke to Clint while sitting sad and defeated in advanced auto parts parking lot. He told me to come out. I came out and he stood in the cold and the rain and looked for any reason my car didn’t work. We didn’t check the tail light bulbs cuz the guy at advanced told me they were fine. At the end, Clint checked the bulbs and both were blown! A $9 fix! I will come here from now on and I’ll never go to advanced auto parts, especially the one on pleasant valley blvd, again. Thank you guys soooo much! I was so excited I ran in the store to let him know they were working! I would have hugged that man!
They have a good variety of parts, though some things are more expensive than you can find anywhere else.

Not a bad place with decent prices. Retail clerks were very kind and very helpful even with classic/obscure vehicles with decent availability. However the manager does not seem appreciative of long stays and shoos you out the door. Otherwise worth visiting. Very clean and well kept
