Called and scheduled an appointment for 3 tires to be mounted and balanced on my wife’s car. Also had the oil changed and state inspection done. My wife drove the car home after the service was done and commented that the 3 tires that were just mounted had 40-41 pounds of air pressure according to the TPMS. I adjusted the pressure to the recommended 33psi. I thought I should check the oil level as well. I found the oil level on the dipstick to be a 1 1/4” above the full mark. Be cautious about getting any work done at here.
My step daughter’s breaks went bad at college and I was Three hours away. And on the coldest day of the year. I was going to have to go to her and fix it for less than gas money for the trip they fixed it for her, after another shop told her 5x what they did it for. Thanks again reliable I appreciate you guys!
I can’t say enough good about these guys. My daughter is attending Penn state and 3 hours from home and our mechanic. She went to a tire place and they attempted to take advantage of the fact she has little knowledge on vehicles and was in obvious distress because her rotors were gone. We were going to have to come up to install them because we couldn’t find anyone willing. To do the labor only job until she contacted these guys. They had her in within an hour and put the door. She said she was comfortable in the waiting area and able to do school work while there. They treated her with respect and never once tried to take advantage of the fact she is still young and doesn’t understand how these things work. I would recommend them to anyone having car issues. As a mom it’s hard having your baby so far away as. Harder when these things happen. Thank you reliable for being decent human beings and helping my daughter with her first ever repair.
I got locked out of my vehicle on a Friday at 8pm, I called Reliable and they were able to get a technician with the hour. Great service and great response time!
These guys at Reliable Towing Tire & Auto are great. They have always helped me with getting the correct tires for all my vehicles, trailers & campers. I have no worries when I send my wife or daughter to get stuff done.
Our car was acting up on our way home from Ohio. Road side assistance was a complete failure so I called Reliable. Without hesitation, they put me on the list and towed my car to the car dealer I requested.
Made a roadside call via AAA. Reliable towing was dispatched. It took them 30 minutes to call AAA and request information on my location, then another 10 to say I am out of there area. Didn’t realize 10 miles outside of Altoona was outside Altoona area. Guess there time is more valuable than mine.
This company showed up for AAA and was arrogant, would not tow us saying we had a commercial vehicle. It's an F150 with no stickers just a cap. First off when he called us after getting dispatched he wanted to let my vehicle over night in the city instead of towing it. Guess he was to tired...had to wait 12 hours in addition for someone to come get our vehicle.....
Amazing service and return time, the mechanics there are awesome and did not do me dirty on what needed to be done price wise. I got phone calls with updates and a pick up time. I've seen Travis hustling to get cars moving about in and out the parking lot so I know hes a hard worker. Great job guys!
I called at 9.30p on a Sunday night with a flat tire and a spare that wouldn't hold air, on a road trip from Philly to Pittsburgh, and two small kids in tow. The fellow who answered the phone knew exactly where we were, came out with the truck in fifteen minutes, brought us all back to the shop, and took a look at the issue. It was a straightforward fix: blown tire needed replacing, and there was one in-stock that could do the job. He was apologetic that it was one of the expensive ones, but we did really just want to get home and were happy to take it. From pick-up to back on the road was under 1.5hrs — and the total bill was under $300! If I ever find myself stuck in Altoona again I'll be sure to call these guys first.
“changed the battery” TWICE in two separate cars and they BOTH died the next day . Put “air” in my tires , but light was still on. Didn’t put oil in my car and my engine locked. As well would like to add after they said it was my battery (when I stalled not even a block away after paying and picking up) it was supposedly a “dirty” filter but they could not tell me which filter it was . Do not come here , they might give u a 100$ discount but you’re still paying over 800 for ur car to break down the very next day.
They like to put an emissions sticker on without permission and then make a giant list of stuff that needs done to your car so that you're forced to get the work on their list done for them to put the other sticker on. That leaves you with no choice but to go through them. Classic garage scam. Definitely don't get taken advantage of people. Take it somewhere else.
I can't post as to the quality of work, as no work was completed. I had an appointment at 8am, as I was pulling in my girlfriend was being assaulted in the parking lot by a small male technician. I absolutely would stay away from any business that employs morally unsound individuals willing to assault women!
After being stuck on the highway and towed to Reliable, we couldn’t have been more pleased with the service . I give them a 12 out of 10. We were back on the road in less than 3 hours. The cost was also excellent!
I've taken my car here multiple times and so has my fiancé. They're always prompt with checking out and fixing the car and their prices are very reasonable. I once took my car to them for for a suspected issue that turned out to be nothing and they didn't charge me for checking it out, so they seem to be honest as well. 10/10 service, will continue to recommend.
Absolute CARELESS work… Massive gouges to my $1,600 forged wheel from removing the balancing weights. I’d stay far away if you drive anything worth looking at!
Got a flat on the highway 500 miles from home, and these guys jumped right in, repaired the flat, threw it back on, and helped me re-stow the spare. Made it home safe with no issues, and a very short delay. If I ever need tire or car work done near Altoona again, I will 100% come back. Thanks guys! Y’all are awesome!!!!
I will continue to be a repeat customer with these guys! The main guy who works at the front counter, he's in there everytime I go in and he is always helpful and works with you quickly. He's very straight to the point, and anytime I had a question he always answered it without ever making me feel as if my question was a burden! They do great work and they have awesome service/staff!
Standing here as I type. Brought my truck in with an appointment for 8 am. Was here on time to have stud tires put on my vehicle. It’s now 950 and the tires are off the vehicle just sitting on the lift. When I questioned the service people they had no answer for the delay. Don’t come here. 10:15 still waiting.
The man in the office (Brad I think ?) was very helpful finding the right tire size for my car and giving prices. I also checked with R Tire Shop and they wanted $10 more per tire for the same brand. Scheduled my car for the following afternoon and they installed 2 tires in an hour. Reasonable prices as well. I would definitely use Reliable again.
They're very honest and that means a lot. Sometimes repair shops see a girl coming and think easy money. I 100% trust them to always fix what is wrong, tell me if it doesn't need something and to charge a reasonable price. They've never been nothing but kind and helpful.
Over the top service at a critical moment. Timely repair with updates and absolute committment to excellence. Brad is tops at the front desk. Communications and honesty are a hallmark. I feel, for the first time in a long time, that I got relaible service at a very fair price. Well done. Oh...nice discount as well for a veteran.
Use them for our business and personally..great mechanics, good prices, wonderful customer service. They take care of our entire fleet and our trucks get used! They maintain our oil changes, our studded tires fir winter and all of our repairs.

I called them around 2:15pm, needing my car towed and the starter replaced. They had the car in the shop before 3:00 and had it finished before 4:00.
I’d heard good things about them, and after calling around, I found them to be the least expensive. I’m glad I went with them. Reasonable prices for towing, labor, and parts, roughly $400 less than most quotes by others in town with many not even including towing. They were available, affordable, and provided fast top notch service. If need be, I’ll be a return customer.
Can’t recommend them enough.
I've had a couple problems here and there where labor and parts were very expensive, but all in all, they do a pretty good job. This one in particular charges more for both parts and labor than the smaller one on Walnut Avenue. If you're looking to save money, definitely go to the one on Walnut Avenue, otherwise this garage is really fast and definitely reliable.
