Complaint Regarding Poor Service at AutoZone – Forest Ave, Staten Island (Dec 22) Dear AutoZone Customer Service Team, I am writing to formally complain about an extremely poor and unacceptable service experience at your AutoZone location at 2294 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY, on December 22nd around 5:25 PM. Earlier that afternoon, my car battery died. My insurance roadside assistance jump-started my vehicle and strongly recommended that I go directly to AutoZone to purchase and have a new battery installed the same day. Following my workday, I drove straight to the above location. I purchased a new battery, paid in full, and received my receipt. After payment, I repeatedly asked for assistance with installing the battery. Despite waiting for over one hour, no employee was willing to help. I explained multiple times that I urgently needed the battery replaced because I work a night shift in the medical field and could not afford to return the next day. One employee, Carlos, repeatedly refused to assist me, giving several excuses such as: • He was tired • He was busy • He did not want to do it at that time • He did not have the right tools At one point, he briefly opened the hood, then left again, stating he did not have tools. Later, he returned with a tool and claimed it was the wrong one and that he could not perform the installation. Throughout this process, I felt ignored, disrespected, and deliberately delayed. Eventually, I was forced to leave without the battery being installed, despite having already paid for it. I had to drive home in an unsafe condition, missed my overnight shift, and suffered financial and emotional stress as a result. I have documentation of the time I entered the store, proof of purchase, and voice recordings of my conversations with Carlos, if required for investigation. This experience was deeply disappointing and unprofessional. I relied on AutoZone for same-day service, as advertised and recommended, and was left stranded instead. Due to this incident, I cannot recommend this location to anyone. I respectfully request that AutoZone: 1. Investigate this incident thoroughly 2. Address the behavior of the employee involved 3. Consider appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and lost work 4. Ensure customers are treated respectfully and assisted as promised Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. I had an amazing experience at AutoZone thanks to Egorden! My car battery died, and he helped me right away. Egorden was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional — he checked my battery, confirmed it needed replacement, and had it changed out within just a few minutes. He made the whole process quick and stress-free, and his positive attitude really stood out. It’s great to see someone who truly cares about helping customers. Thank you, Egorden, for your fast and excellent service — I’ll definitely be coming back to AutoZone because of you!

What is up with how dirty this place is? Clean up the sidewalk and parking lot. This place looks like a junk yard. Get some landscapers to get rid of the weeds.

I walked in and said hello to the lady standing in the front and she told me " I don't feel like talking today" while she texted on her phone. I go into this store often and Everyone Is usually very polite to me when I walk in, but this worker was very rude! Her name plate said Victoria on it, if this what autozone condones I will stop spending money here.

Best customer service on the island, they definitely stepped their game up from a couple months ago, went in with a couple of questions and a check engine light, Eli A was very helpful and fulfilled all my questions and concerns. Definitely will be a returning customer again now that management and customer service has stepped up! 👍🏻

Store is extremely weird I was there Saturday morning the 12th there was a older asian man talking to his fellow employees out loud saying how he wanted to tattoo “made in china” on his private parts and went into great detail in front of me about how he’d probably get erect from the experience not the type of conversation you would want to hear when visiting a auto parts store to get some parts even the other employees looked very uncomfortable definitely will not be coming back here this isn’t the type of worker you want to have in a store environment especially when people sometimes bring kids into the store with them

Good morning I was looking for windshield wiper blades and something to hold my hood up because the struts were done finished kaput I went in there @2294 Forest avenue Staten Island and the gentleman named Gil helped me what a wonderful man. I will never go back to advanced Auto parts after using AutoZone he should be commended that you have such a friendly courteous and helpful men like him working for you just wanted to share that with you

I highly recommend everyone stay away from this store came in the night of August 21st guy with tattoos stood there ignoring me as I waited to be checked out only one worker tall gentleman was working the register when I asked to be rung up he gave me a lot of attitude and asked that I wait for the other guy extremely unprofessional environment

Th store manager Jimmy had excellent customer service and helped me in no time. I highly recommend this place for any battery issues. He checked my battery and tightened it up FREE OF CHARGE! Thanks again Jimmy! 😎🤙

The Asian man in there was very rude. Horrible way to act in customer service. Asked him how are you twice and didn’t even look at me in the face just grilled the computer asking what I needed. Just told me aisle two J hook. Sorry but I came to autozone for help, isn’t that what an auto parts business is supposed to do? Help you find the product you need so they can make a sale and profit the business? Luckily the other employee was nice enough to help. This is why pep boys down the block gets my business.

Jimmy the store manager, was so helpful. He is literally is the best, helped me to where my car was parked and assisted me with jump starting my car. That is the true definition of going above and beyond. Thank you once again🙏🏾

On 10/30 I went into the store because my headlight blew out. I had no idea what to ask for so I asked Jimmy the store manager for help and when I tell you he was so helpful,polite and not to mention funny.Thank you Jimmy for making my experience pleasant one. Excellent customer service.

Writing this review on behalf of my dad he said he stopped by this store and there was a shorter gentleman named kellen I believe he said that he was very helpful my dad doesn’t speak English very well and the worker even went out of his way to speak to him in Spanish my dad said he’s never seen a gringo speak Spanish so fluently so thank you kellen for your kindness

By far the best Autozone on the island. Theres one 5 minutes from my house but I still drive 25 minutes out to this one since the service is so good. Michael, Ariel and Kyle are super helpful and can deal with any problem you have. I was having trouble with my check engine light and they fixed my problem super quick. Highly recommend

Absolutely amazing customer service! Went in to buy a battery and get it installed and the cashier was very sweet and helpful. They were super busy when I came in but Despite the fact she called someone out to help me right away. The manager Ricky came out immediately very calm with a huge smile on his face and changed my car battery in 5 mins!!!!! This after I was denied service because it was “too late” and told its going to take at least 15 mins (by the manager mind you) at the other forest Ave location the night before!!! Ricky was also very nice and took the time To explain all the warranty info about the battery as well. After a terrible experience at the other forest location the night before Ricky completely redeemed my opinion on auto zone!!! Safe to say I’ll be going back to him for all my auto needs from now on even though it’s a further drive. THANKS AGAIN RICKY!!! 🐐 🐐 🐐

Came in a few minutes before closing...Derek and Michael were so patient and helpful. They did not try to rush me at all. They came out to test my battery and took the time to explain how to change it. Derek is a great manager and I could tell he was very knowledgeable and really cares about service. He told me his upcoming shift times so I could come back if I needed any help. Great experience at this store. Keep up the good work!

I am beyond grateful for Kenneth he was AMAZING. I came in with a flat tire and not sure what to do. He told me what I can use and even came out to plug my tire for me. I love his customer service skills and that went over and beyond. The world need more people like him. I would ALWAYS recommend this autozone

Derek F. , the sales manager of this location is the epitome of great customer service. I went into the store not knowing exactly what bulb I needed for my car and instead of having me buy both and taking the chance, he wasted no time and walked out to my car to see what bulb it was that I needed, and took it a step further by changing the bulb for me after I purchased the bulb that I needed. Of course me being so appreciative of his initiative I was eager to give him a tip (which was well deserved), but he declined so I’ve just decided to give this autozone a stellar review because the customer service is AMAZING and all employees are extremely kind and welcoming. I would 100% recommended this autozone for any of your car troubles

I shopped here very often and was always at this store almost every weekend. To think that the more you come and go as a very frequent customer you wouldn’t feel like you are not welcome. Except for 1 or two employees the staff is very rude and has no clue what they are talking about. Sadly i don't see those gentlemen there anymore. As someone who has been in the Automotive field for 7 years you can sniff out the BS and inexperience these people have. Please do your self a favor and take your self to the Advance Auto Parts store 2 minutes away and you will see the real difference of experience and people skills.

Car started giving problems on the way home to Jersey, found this store while in route, ten minutes before closing!! Sean/Shawn stayed back and helped us with tools and parts, he was a God send! Excellent customer service, he stayed back after closing! It's great to know that people like this still exist, there is hope for humanity!!!

Walked in store with reciept last night to return an 8 dollar item. Employee Miles"I will issue you store credit" Me. "Can I have cash I paid with cash." Miles gave no answer. So I asked again "Can I have cash back? This is when he blew up and said yelling at me "I GOT YOU,YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN" I still remained calm and told him "I think you need to calm down all I did was ask you a simple question and you are yelling at me. At this point he tells manager. " I cannot help this guy" and takes the next costumer. I am baffled and still have no idea what I did to this guy. On my way out I went to get his name. He gave me his name and asked me what mine was, so I told him my name. Now he tells me "I got your name now I got you" I consider this a threat toward me and may file a Police report.
