Have been by twice since we moved into Marion county- the people have been super helpful & nice. They take trash, recycling, old tires, scrap metal, & old paint.
This is a place to dump our trash as our street is too narrow for the trucks. It's not a problem as it's about 3 miles only nexus a u-turn is required to get there. It has an area for tires, an area for refrigerators/freezers. An area for paint, batteries. I'm sure more, but I can't think. As a female, I appreciate when the gentleman helps me with big trash bags or boxes. Everyone I've encountered have been helpful and kind. There is a stigma that I believe is built into society about jobs such as this. Imagine a world with no recycling centers, so I ask: Please speak and give a smile. Not just here, but every swrvice job. This is the very least you can do. It might make them feel good and it will definitely make you feel good and it might uplift someone's day. Thank you
They take mattresses. Tires. Wheels. Scrap metal. Appliances. Cardboard boxes. Standard household trash. Batteries. Glass. Oil. Paint. Electronics. Debris Such as plants leafs sticks.
Have your trash ready for quick access to pull and dump instead of fiddling around picking piece by piece.
I've been a "customer" for almost ten years. In that time I've seen people (and roosters) come and go. One thing remains the same, the nice people and their professional attitude. The place is kept clean and they even help unload my rubbish at tines. As for the comment about recycle bins being full all of the time - duh. Its people like you and me that keep filling them up.
The entire staff are very professional and offer excellent customer service. Warden, Greg and Nikki(if I didn’t get her name correct, she is the only female at the site) are amazing!! Always friendly and offering assistance.
Seriously this place sucks. They consider everything construction and send you to baseline. A small cut up hot tub is not construction. Website isn't exactly clear on a lot of stuff you can and cannot bring and good luck trying to call ahead of time. No you have to show up and waste your time.
Made the mistake of loading trash on a trailer , instead of the bed of my truck. The guy working that day told me I had to go to baseline, because I used a trailer.
This is a great place to take just about everything. They have a place for scrap metal, old appliances, old electronics, Chemicals like Paint and Turpentine.
Recycling bin is always full! This location needs another recycling bin or more frequent pick up. Extremely frustrating as the garbage services no longer pick up recycling. The staff are always nice and helpful. The county, not so much.
Very convenient set up and helpful staff. Marion county made a good decision to help minimize dumping or hording waste by having these drop off centers. The county is much cleaner than other countries in Florida.
Simple place to remove the bags of garbage and it even includes a recycle isle too. It also has many spots of throwing away objects like yard related stuff or electronic items.
Only getting 3 due to not accepting carpet or tack strips labeling it construction. I live 2 min. away and baseline is like 40-45 min with traffic. Why would I waste that fuel? Please supply a dumpster to take carpet and other construction related materials since you wont pick up garbage from our house. Our taxes run your facilities, the least you can do is supply another dumpster.
Very friendly attendants. Very helpfull. Clean and easy to get to. Just off 441. North of 326. . Line moves along quickly as people need to have trash bagged or in containers. Their is an area for yard debree. Tires. Batteries and large appliances. And of course your old furnature. No charge for residents of Marion County. Regards Brenda
