Been using Pep Boys for a number of years for all my servicing, repairs, tires etc. They do a great job and the prices are reasonable. Shout out to Anthony he goes above and beyond to make sure everything is done properly and on time. I definitely recommend Pep Boys!

I had never been to Pep Boys today and make an appointment because of noise on the right tire. I thought it could have been the brakes. They told me that my brakes were great, but there was something lose that was rubbing. It was all really quick and easy. I will definately be coming back.

I took my car here in August 2024 because the AC was turning on and off. After a paid diagnosis, they told me replacing the blower motor and resistor would fix the issue. It seemed fine at first, but the very next day the problem came back and the AC stopped working again. I brought it back, and they said it might be something electrical and that they would call a specialist and even contact Jeep. Weeks went by with no answers. Every time I called, I was told the manager handling it wasn’t there. Eventually, I gave up because summer was almost over. Fast forward to February, and now the heat doesn’t work at all. I called and was told the repair was still under warranty and to bring the car in. I waited two hours, and they never even checked my car in. I was told to come back the next day. When I returned the following week, they suddenly said the repair was no longer under warranty and that I was told that by mistake. Very frustrating experience. The original issue was never fixed, and there were constant miscommunications. I won’t be coming back.

On Monday January 12, 2026 I had an 8:30 am appointment to repair/replace a flat tire on tires I purchased, with road hazard, two weeks prior. After waiting 1 1/2 hours, I saw that my truck was still in the parking lot. I was never notified of progress or delay until I finally asked what was taking so long. I was then told someone had called in sick, so they were behind schedule. I had to leave to take my sister to work and was not happy about still having to drive on my spare tire after spending nearly $1000 on tires with road hazard and waiting 1 1/2 hours with no service or communication. I called 1/2 hour later, after bringing my sister to work, and was told they could "get me right in" if I came back because the person who called in was only 2 hours late, not out for the day. I returned and waited about another 1 1/2 hours to have my tire patched. Yesterday, Jan 15, I opened my tailgate for the first time since being at Pep Boys on Monday Jan 12, 2026, and discovered my spare tire was not put back where it belongs. It was in the bed of my truck! After the extremely long wait and being inconvenienced by spending half a day at Pep Boys, the least they could have done was put my spare tire back! I was totally shocked! I'm a 63-year-old woman (probably capable of putting the spare tire back, but that's not the point, I definitely should not have to.) Did they really do that? Did they expect me to put it back under my truck myself after the terrible customer service I'd already experienced? If I could return all four tires for a refund and go somewhere else, I would. I will never do business with Pep Boys in Manchester again, and I will be sure to share my experience with anyone who might ask me about doing business there. I felt bad for the young woman at the service desk who had to deal with the unsatisfied customers, as I noticed I was not the only one.

I came into Pep Boys in Manchester, CT for the easiest job on the planet; install a set of tires I already had delivered to your store. All I needed to do was check in and drop my car off. Instead, I stood at the counter for over 25 minutes without a single acknowledgement. No “hey, we’ll be right with you,” no “give us a minute,” nothing. Just being completely ignored like I wasn’t even there. When I finally got someone’s attention; a guy I believe was the shop manager named Theo; I told him straight up how unprofessional it is to leave a customer standing there that long without even the slightest acknowledgement. His response wasn’t “you’re right” or “sorry about that.” He immediately got defensive and started arguing with me about how he was dealing with the previous customer’s stuff and that he would get to me next. That was literally the first acknowledgement I got from him the entire time; and it came with attitude. Things escalated into a shouting match, and the only reason it didn’t get worse is because a junior employee stepped in, deescalated it, and started helping me like a normal human being. But even then, Theo couldn’t let it go. He kept chiming in with the whole “oh, you’re not gonna talk to me like that, that’s what we’re not gonna do here” routine; like the real issue was my tone instead of the fact that I had been ignored for half an hour. And then the best part; Theo decides to cancel my tire installation appointment. So let me get this straight: you offer automotive services, take appointments, have customers ship tires directly to your store; then you ignore them for 25+ minutes, get defensive when they call it out, and cancel the appointment because your manager can’t handle being told his customer service is garbage. If you value your time, go anywhere else.

Complete unprofessionals and liars took 2 days to get 4 new tires and an alignment and was lied to multiple times. I recommend that if you have a choice go anywhere but PepBoys. This review was written with extreme anger from my experience but 100% true.

Had issues in the past with multiplr misdiagnose with my previous car, and never addressing the main issue (a screeching noise in the wheel) with my previous car. After years of avoiding them i gave them another chance, not only did they schedule me for an appointment for a simple heat/AC repair, where the mechanic left early, (forcing me to reschedule after i arrived) but proceeded to lie to me saying wires where "burnt out" and to go to dealership only to find the wires and box where chewed by a rodent, and someone broke the box open with a screwdriver voiding my warranty. Thanks guys

Find somewhere reputable and don’t make the same mistake I did. Mechanic #1 clearly caused damage to my car. They also didn’t provide the customer inspection report nor perform the additional inspection I paid for. I took the car back a week later for them to assess what the new issue was (I assumed it could be from new brakes) and the guy at the front desk clearly was listening to his AirPod rather than the issue they caused. Mechanic #2 now found issues which should have been highlighted by #1, since I paid for the inspection. But the issues he found are not related to what I brought the vehicle back for. I’m not a mechanic, but struts should not cause a noticeable grinding. Maybe it could be a wheel bearing? Neither mechanic #1 nor #2 suggested this though. After the second appointment, I called Corporate to provide feedback and I should have been contacted within 48 hours. It’s been 5 days. Edit: Never received a call from corporate. They only closed my case. It’s been reopened and I’ve emailed the below email address with every piece of information highlighting the issue this shop caused. 12/23 edit: Still have not received a resolution. Because of this, I’ve raised an issue with the Better Business Bureau. 48 hours is their claimed resolution time, but Pep Boys is more on track for 48 days. Seems like they’ve lost their pep.

Service was atrocious. Took about 4 hours for 4 new tires and an alignment. Should’ve only taken about an hour and a half to 2 hours. Car didn’t get into the garage until 45 minutes after my set appointment. Technician spent more time on his phone than working on my vehicle. When I asked for an update I was told “4 tires and an alignment doesn’t just happen in minutes!”….this was 3 hours into my appointment. I will never go there again or recommend anyone does. Absolutely atrocious service

Took my car in this spring for 4 new tires, the tires never leaked air prior to them installing and now all 4 leak continuously and have since I got them installed. Not to mention the alignment and balance out of the door was faulty as well. Best take your car to a more reputable place and avoid these guys at all costs

I went there a few days ago got 2 new front tires. I didn’t have an appointment but was see right away. I talked with one of the workers named Anthony. He was great I had tires that were a little smaller than should have been and he told me what tires I needed for my car. To me with the bigger tires it runs better I can feel the difference. Anthony was very professional friendly a great worker. The price was great and I’m very satisfied.

I made an appointment online and dropped it off. The tech told me it would be done in 2 hrs. I came back slightly over 2hrs later and my car had not even been taken in and no one notified me. When I was finally able to pick my car up, it was trashed. Everything in my glove compartment and center console was thrown on the floor and my passenger seat and left there when looking for the wheel lock which was in the original bag and in the front of my glove box in plain sight. The experience was horrible. Get your car serviced elsewhere.

I never leave reviews but I will now. I booked an appointment two weeks prior for tires. I planned to wait and was told it would be roughly one and a half hours. Drove 40 min to the shop to wait in line with other costumers (also upset) over 25 min. One costumer was told he would be waiting over 3 year hours. After I got up to check in (which was 10 min after my appointment was supposed to start), the man at the desk told me none of my information was in the system (after I spoke multiple times upon booking to ensure my info was) so they weren't sure if they had tires. I also explained that I was told I would be waiting maybe max less than two hours and the guys at the desk laughed and said essentially I would be spending half my day there. I ended up just leaving rather than getting more upset. So in all I drove an hour plus for nothing. Will never go back.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Scheduled an appointment for a simple tire patch at 5:00 one afternoon. By 6:15 my car hadn’t been touched and they said would probably not get to it by closing time. If I wouldn’t have asked they were going to let me sit there till close and waste my time. Just not how you do business. There’s better options around than this joke of an establishment.

Please do not take your car here, they damaged my vehicle just doing a simple oil change. Damaged my rims taking a tire off that I never even asked for because they wanted to upsell me. Waited nearly 4 hours for an oil change with an appointment. They did not care about me, my business or my property. I dont normally review anything but please stay away from them.

I appreciated that the coupons were mentioned to me, but the total cost for parts and labor ended up being much higher than expected. I also had three specific issues I wanted inspected, and the advisor (Carlos) said after my brake service was done that he forgot to relay all of them to the mechanic, so not everything was checked or completed. I really wanted a thorough inspection done and felt like it was being avoided/overlooked. That miscommunication was a bit frustrating and affected my overall experience.

I made an 8 am appointment for an oil change and check tire pressure. 10 am I asked guy where’s my car, he went back and says give them 15 min, I gave them 2 hours for an oil change with no updates. The tire pressure was never checked and I find it hard to believe they did the care check. Will never go back.

Horrible experience Joseph (tech refused to speak me) after me asking why is my tire light & other gages are on after getting brand new tire. They tell me to drive it around for 50-100 miles and it will go off after I paid $300. I will never come here again. It’s only getting a one b/c you need to give it a star so I can post!

Brought in my car for two new tires, my service was supposed to come with a complimentary inspection and alignment. I was told to pick up my car and when I did they said he "didn't have time to do an inspection or the alignment" and that I would need to get in aligned within a month or it'll create damage. Why am I being told to pick up my car if the service is not complete? I got a a flat in my back tire 2 days later that I suspect was from the misalignment. Now I've had to pay for that and I have to pay a different place and take time out of my day for an alignment. Never heard of getting two new tires and them not aligning those wheels. Expected a lot more from Pep boys.

The Manchester location is a complete joke . I went in with an appointment for an oil change and to check my dash since I had two lights on . The tire pressure sensor and air bag light . I get a call saying I have bad sensors and I could use a set of tires . I give them the approval to take care of those items but when I return to pick up my vehicle I notice the lights are all still on . I go back inside and was told to drive the vehicle for a few minutes and they should rest. I go for a drive, the air bag light never turns off so I go back to the store. I was told to wait for a tech to check the car . 40 mins go by and mind you I’ve paid already . I ask when I will be helped and the service tech goes who are you . I was astonished . They claim I never asked about the dashboard lights so they didn’t assess if there was an issue with my airbag and that I would need to take my car somewhere else to correct it. This is after they claimed to have done a vehicle inspection that should have shown there was an issue with the dashboard lights. So I get sent home $1200 later with a vehicle that I still can’t confirm is safe. I am severely disappointed with the staff and how this was handled . In my time there the service tech was being rude to other customers as well. Claiming without the name of the person you spoke to we can’t help you . That is the opposite of customer service . Seems like some staff need to go or require retraining .

Very worst experience in my life. I was waited at this Pep Boys store location for more than 6 hours to complete my car tire rotation. I can’t tolerate this much of time taken. Not understanding others valuable time. I will recommend, don’t go with Pep Boys

I came to Pep Boys for a battery change. Their entire team were very cordial from the moment I stepped in their shop to the moment I left. Benny was great at answering any questions I had regarding the battery and other issues I’ve had with my car. The price for battery and labor I was charged was fair and I was happy to have my service completed quickly as well. Thank you so much!

Went in because my tire was low and didnt seem to be refilling. Sat for over 45 minutes while no one had a clue what was done to fix it when I got the message that it was ready for pickup. Only the girl at the counter seemed to even care enough to go find out. Not a soul in the shop had any idea my car had been serviced. No one even tried to help her. Man at the service desk was talking on Video Cam the whole time during my check in with headphones in. Danielle was more then fabulous tho.

I can’t say enough about the Manchester, CT team and the excellent service I received. I especially want to praise Danielle, who went above and beyond to make sure I got everything I needed at the price promised. She researched and found a way for me to leave with 4 new tires, instead of just 2 like a had planned. I left with brand new tires, brakes, rotors and peace of mind. They have very competitive pricing. Don’t even bother shopping around. Thank you!

Had tires installed same day, which is nice but when you use hammer on weights on painted rims on only one of them and then you stick on for the other one and then gouge my rim in multiple spots tends to bring the rating a little bit lower, so glad I paid the extra money to have them scratch my stuff you can easily tell it’s not curb, rash or rock chips. It’s from improper installment.

Was here for work, the service side will remain open and offer services such as tire changes and basic oils changes but the retail side of the operation is no longer available. Staff was friendly and plenty of parking spaces available. Location right off of the highway and access is relatively easy.

I want to say that the staff behind the service department were awesome they get a 5 star. They even have complementary coffee which is great, But the guy doing the work on my tires is another story within itself. He gets a 1/2star. My front driver side needed new valvestem and the rear driver side needed a plug... Here I been for 3hours and he just about completed it. I think.. I dont know what he is on. I think hes high. Now hes on a personal phone call at the service desk. His name is Chris. I use to work in a tire shop and it takes at lease 30 min to do it all.
