The workers are always so nice and helpful even if the new system is annoying (obviously not their doing). Be careful stuff doesn’t bounce out when you throw it into the bins ? (oops but they were so nice about it).
The town has hired some newer staff since COVID. They are polite, easy to deal with and helpful. This is a nice improvement over some of the older staff who were none of these things.
If you keep up with maintenance on your property and/or perform reno’s on it you can NOT LIVE IN A BETTER TOWN THAN MANCHESTER CT! Their employees ACROSS THE TOWN FROM SANITATION TO TOWN HALL TO POLICE/FIRE are THE FINEST in our great state! PLEASE APPRECIATE THEM every chance you get!

Their new pricing guidelines are outrageous and they don't even pick up the phone.
Used to be $4 per pickup truck and $2 per car. Now they make you buy a $25 punch card with five punches and a $50 punch card.
I believe a car is one punch out of the five and a pickup truck is two punches out of the five.
That means it's basically gone from $4 for a pickup truck to $10 per pickup truck. Funny how they implemented these outrageous pricing guidelines after the director hired some refugee from California that fled her state. They always make other states worse.

If you are a town resident, this is a very affordable way to get rid of things. They accept a variety of items including electronics, appliances, furniture, tires, mattresses and automotive fluids. They also create mulch out of pallets and branches that you can take. Prices are very cheap and it is well organized and clean.
Went there for the multi-town household hazardous waste collection. They did a great job. I showed up a little before opening and was in line a quarter mile away figuring I'd be there for a while, but was on my out about 20 minutes after they opened. They really kept traffic moving and made it super easy - just had to show proof of residency.
Well today again I've been to this landfill around six times I live here 3 minutes away for eight years and they still tell me to bring my wife because she's the owner but I have the same name same address I show my ID I've been there like I told you so I was lucky enough like they told me to be able to drop off some rubbish that I have which me and my wife pay a lot of taxes and to feel that they almost deny me to throw away my garbage my landfill that I pay you tax money for because my name is not somewhere where they have a rule that to me it doesn't that make sense when I show them ID and tell them that's my wife anyways if we can change something about this that'll be great please get back to me if you have to thank you
Hazardous waste opens at 8am. Not at 7:15am with the rest of the dump. If you arrive at 8am there will be a very long line. Everyone is pretty friendly there. However, one of the woman in the office is not very knowledgeable and gives misinformation often. More training in the office would be helpful for a better customer experience
Brought a load of logs and brush and one stump they charged me for brush. Brought a load of logs and one stump they charged me 150 a ton it was 550 . 60 bucks a ton for log rounds you do the math, And gave me a hard time about it. They pick and choose how they feel like screwing you. And I bought the permit on top of it. Iv never felt so insulted before.
These people are so rude, they think their grandparents own this freaking place and they’re only one that pay property tax for the whole Manchester. They forgot where their paycheck came from.
Controlling and entitled staff who dictates whether or not someone is a Manchester resident regardless of proof of HUS loan, unopened mail, and house purchase. Wants residents to pay 50$ instead of 4$ depending on whether or not they personally deny proof of residency. Residents taxes fund the job position of those who choose whether or not one is actually a resident. Clearly, this place needs to be restaffed. Further action with be taken to settle this injustice.
Sure, there's a mated pair of Ravens that hang around here and are fun to watch, but besides that, I can't see taking the whole family here for an afternoon.
Typical place to put trash. Very well organized lay out, easy to navigate. 5 stars because my experiences with staff and grounds keepers has always been top notch.
Your garbage is spilling over into the marsh land of the luarel marsh trail next to the hoxkumn river. Also I would appreciate if you didn't drive dump trucks through the marsh land as well.
Man did i have the best time of my life. I was overjoyed right as i walked inside the tear bearing gates. I left there Knowing that there is no one that can compare to the time I had at the Manchester local landfill
