The staff is always so rude and miserable. Don’t dare ask for help in there either. You’ll be told read the signs.
Depending on who’s working will depend if they even buy any of the stuff you bring. Brought an entire tote of brand new items and they took 2 items. Trying to find things to purchase in there is awful. Everything is always stained and dirty or just raggedy looking. No longer selling or shopping there.
Please make sure you're thoroughly cleaning anything bought from here. Bought a learning table and the amount of build up of stickiness and dirt, and pet hair from whoever sold it to them is absolutely disgusting, down to the battery cover. Make sure you’re cleaning and disinfecting.
They have a great selection and prices however the overpowering scent in the store is almost unbearable. I know there is a mix of laundry detergents and stuff from donations but it’s almost like they use plug in scents like glad plug ins or something. I leave with a splitting headache almost ever time.
Once upon a child is an inexpensive way to get quality clothes for your child who is growing every minute of every day, they have it set up so conveniently where you can find exactly what you're looking for. I love this place. I've shop there several times for my grandchildren.
Decent place to shop. Bright lights easy to see merchandise. But I do not recommend selling here. I brought in north face, joes jeans, American Girl, and other brand names and was offered about $2/item
I used to enjoy going to this once upon a child but after today I will no longer be going to this location. When you first entered it was as if everyone was miserable and rude. I regret selling items here because at the other location they would have offered more. I was with my toddler and the items they rejected were in a big bin. They did not once offer to help or anything seeing that the bin didn’t fit in the cart. There were a handful of staff just standing around.The staff at the west Springfield location are more kind and considerate.
Great parking, clean store (just a little crowded with stuff) friendly staff, good selection ( do wish for more voys clothes) and decently priced. I always try to catch them with there sales, I will buy more on those sales dure to I get more for my buck. Boys are dirty and keeping clean clothes on him is hard. Lol. This store even had his favorite coustum that he would wear anywhere. At 11 months I'm not going to say no. I let him pick out what he wants. They even have a amazing selection of shoes where we got Nike red and Grey color and we only spent 15 on them. I can deal with that, more since it was name brand.
Absolutely horrible experience. We went there to sell a bunch of baby stuff that has alot of worth when sold at the marketplace. Almost new baby crib, bumper jumper, high chair, graco swing, baby gate, rocker etc.. they rejected everything, giving irrelevant remarks on the stuff we brought in. Its a baby thrift store what do you expect? Do we need to bring in brand new stuff at your store. We had better luck on the marketplace then this place. Never going back there again. It was a waste of time and energy.
Workers aren’t friendly don’t greet you the selection isn’t very good or well organized. Every other once upon a child location I’ve been too is great upbeat and high energy with lots of selection. I always leave empty handed from here with no purchases. If staff isn’t friendly I won’t do business there.
They had a pretty good selection for my daughter 7 year old daughter who wears a 14. I was able to put together some really cute outfits for her and purchased a pair of new socks
Great items and prices. Large selection of clothes and baby gear. The only thing I’ve noticed is that the music is often very loud which is a problem when I bring my baby in the store and he’s sleeping in the stroller.
To start , Once upon a child - Enfield is right in the center of the action. Not far from the Enfield mall, shops, and cinemas, this retail location is in a prime location. You will find perfect designer clothes, and a they are legitimately like new. You will find brand new sit me ups bottles toys and shoes socks strollers anything you can think of! If you follow them on their Facebook social media accounts, you will find out when their best deals are!
This store is ridiculous!! I sent in a huge bin full of almost brand new baby clothes, hardly worn, like new. They took next to nothing from my bin, gave $20 and said there were "stained clothes" which I know for a fact there weren't because I checked every item and I am a very clean person. Also, they stated they are "pretty well stocked on baby clothes"
Is this not a children's consignment store? Do you think your inventory will last forever?

If you want lack luster service, offensive remarks and a complete waste of your time and energy, visit the Enfield store. Otherwise, stay away.
Also, they request when you send in items to sell, to have them neatly folded etc... and I received my bin back with everything tossed in there, unfolded. You expect the respect of neatly folded clothes but can't reciprocate when it's another persons belongings? I won't go back there.
Not to mention, the store is filthy and smells disgusting.
I cant stand this location. The manager has no idea how to speak to customers and most of her staff match her energy. Ive had to hold myself back from being rude to the manager multiple times bc of her attitude. While shopping I heard them making fun of the items they were going through to buy out from someone who left the store. …Yikes. I asked the manager if they had any formal dresses and she responded that they only have them out during Christmas in a rude manner as if I was supposed to know that... Not to mention often being the only person of color in the store sometimes; Im often ignored even when I look right at the staff. Its funny how Ive listened to them be super sweet to other people spending hundreds and then catch an attitude with me or someone who may look like they have “less money” to them. As someone whos worked customer service & retail im constantly shocked by their behavior. Not even a greeting most of the time. I recently brought them a box and some of the stuff was not even LOOKED AT! It was folded the exact way i left them. Maybe try hiring a better staff or even just nicer people who dont hate their job. The energy in this store is HEAVY & the manager plays a huge part. Was a REGULAR here but Ill be strictly going to the other locations from now on.
I used to work at the Manchester OUAC about 10 years ago and have been going there after having my own baby. Came to Enfield OUAC purely because of convenience, as it was near other shops I needed to visit. Having worked at OUAC I know what are and aren’t “acceptable” items and while I understand minor staining (which obviously I didn’t catch when packing it up) and seasonal/holiday clothes are always difficult, I have perfectly clean, never-worn, and trendy toddler items that were turned down for being “well loved”. On top of that, the customer service was atrocious. The first thing I walk into is “put the bin on the floor. Have you sold to us before?” And when I replied with “yes, but in Manchester” I received a snarky “well, you haven’t sold to us then because we are all independently owned” . Why the attitude?? Don’t waste your time here, go visit Manchester for friendlier service, a more honest buying process, and a much larger selection of better quality clothes!
Love this store! I would say 90% of my childs clothes are from here! This is the best once upon a child I’ve been to. Everything is very tidy, neat, and organized. Friendly staff and lots to chose from!
I'm giving it a 1 star because the girls working there in my opinion had bad customer service skills. The one who was ringing me out was having a side conversation the ENTIRE time she was cashing me out and paying ZERO ATTENTION to me. She barely said 2 words to me which is so RUDE. She just left all my stuff on the counter and I had to ask about a bag (which are $2.99 which is absurd) she didn't ask if I found everything I was looking for, she didn't tell me to have a nice day or thank me for my visit, she didn't even tell me my total I just knew it because I saw it on the register (she also didn't tell my mother her total who was behind me in line)... she carried on with her side conversation as she handed me my change and receipt. She asked me for my number but I don't even know what that had to do with anything or what even the points mean because she didn't explain it. The store is very clean and the clothes are well organized but the employees really need to learn that you give your customers your undivided when you are interacting with them, and that you always, always say thank you for visiting because if it wasn't for the customers you would be out a job... also that it's polite to exchange pleasantries and engage with the customer.
I've bought a lot of things here as I foster children and have for decades. In the last few years, they have not been careful on what they take in and resell. They rejected things I was selling that were top quality brands in excellent condition, so I stopped bringing there and sell on Ebay and Facebook Marketplace instead for a lot more money. I also stopped buying here after I bought an infant swing that was put together incorrectly and not fixable without taking the entire thing apart and a shirt that was not in good condition. They should have noticed it before selling. I stopped in the other day to see what they had for sale and bought a couple pair of pants for my newest foster daughter. It was $6.00 for a pair of Cat and Jack pants, which is pretty close to retail when on sale, but they are cute so bought them. When I went to put on my daughter, I discovered that the snap is broken so there is no way to close them. How did they purchase these without seeing this issue? It's pathetic that the store is so poorly run. Never again.
Some items are ok to buy, but selling is a horrible experience. No dog hair, little stains, have 100+ items get offered 5$ after waiting an hour and a half. What a waste of time. Then you realize when you buy clothes from them they also have, small stains, pet hair, out of date. Crazy. Don’t waste your time selling unless you just bought the item and want to sell it for 65 cents
This place is a rip-off. They only give you $0.65 for a decent piece when they buy from you, and that price has stayed the same for the past 10 years! However their prices have been going up every year. Check other Once Upon A Child stores around and you will find other stores will pay you more than twice than they do, and their prices are more reasonable too.
While I was waiting for them to price my stuff, I checked out their stuff. There was nothing I would even consider because the items were either overpriced or had stains or holes.
The customer service was terrible too . They were pretty rude.
Great 2nd hand store for all kids. The staff is very friendly, and always busy. They have new and used books as well as accessories. They carry a variety of toys for your toddlers and all extremely well priced. If you are looking for dance leotards or even snow suits, for your growing child and dont want to spend lots of $$$$ this is the place to go!
Great used kids toys, shoes, clothes and baby gear. Some prices are ridiculous however the sales you will find are great. I got a winter jacket for my daughter for $4.50! Make sure you clarify sales before you shop with the front manager. I've been duped a few times like when they say 50% off Girls Apparel, dont think this mean all clothing, because they have quite a few exclusions which can be super frustrating when you've filled your cart thinking 50% off everything you picked out. Some of their marketing material just doesn't include the fine print or exclusions and their employees are honestly super unfriendly about it all at this store and others. I got that same negative vibe from this store and Enfield, CT. So shop prepared and clarify sales before you shop! Also. Sign up your phone number to have discounts and sales sent to you. I only discovered this place 2 years ago and I love it!
I am a new mom who came into the store to stock up on some things after getting cash from my baby shower. This store has a really good selection of clothes and toys and items like bassinets and playpens. The staff was very patient with me and very helpful as I was in there for almost 2.5 hours. Of course it is a hit or miss as with any conaihconsiahop but they do a good job inspecting items and you can find some great deals. And there was a 40% off sale on already low prices for jammies and clothes.
This place is clean and really well organized. Wide range of all different kind of clothes starting from Newborn till Kids, swimwear, dresses, hats, shoes, toys and books... The staff is friendly and supportive! The prices are absolutely fair and they have an email list for deals!
Usually an awesome place. They have cute sometimes brand name clothes and like new toys for cheap. They also sell shoes books and furniture too; strollers cribs baby carriers etc. It's a second hand store so sometimes you find great stuff and sometimes you don't. They buy stuff too but call ahead because some days they aren't buying like during certain sales. Do not go on the stuff a bag sale days. It's MOBBED. And even if you fit thirty things in that bag for $15 they regularly have two for $1 sales so what's the big deal?? Not worth waiting in line!
