Brought in a cargo van with a weird vibration. They checked it out basically told me it’s not even worth digging into since I’ve already done a lot before taking it into them. When I picked it up they didn’t charge me anything. I know they had at least an hour of their time between having it on the lift and driving it around so that’s pretty respectable. Good that I know about them now and I’ll bring them something again.
Had a differential issue with my car. I was referred to Hartman. They checked it out, worked up an estimate, and kept me posted on their progress. On time, on budget, quality work. Great job!
Incredible Shop. Dropped off my driveshaft before a holiday weekend and they still knocked it out for me by Friday. Got my 2500 back in up and running smoother than before. Easy going, very knowledgeable. Wish ya'll luck getting that TA back down the 1/4!
Really helpful. Kept me updated throughout the job on my chevelle rear, Let me know what they were finding as they were doing the work. Really great guys. I recommend them to anyone looking for quality work!
Work is good but the prices are shady! Price went up an extra $100 without getting my consent. Or advising me of the situation. Customer servicing is terrible from one of the employees. As well… definitely not going back.
Was quoted a price and drove a hour and a half to drop it off. I even supplied the parts to save them time. Waited almost 2weeks before I even got a call saying my driveshft would be done. Well now it's extra because I supplied the ujoints.. funny that wasn't told when I called and explained everything.. seems very odd and fishy he would do this. But now I know I need to find another shop to build the next 5 projects I have goin on. Sad u charged me for bringing in my own parts.. what kind of business does that?
I was referred to them,, since they rebuild without removing,, my 03 truck is old and my normal shop said that most connections to replace would be cut or broken off. They are a hidden gem,, quality work, done in 2 days, price was Great. Way better than putting a new or used rear in!!
Was referred to Hartman by the Phoenixville Ford Dealer for a drive shaft. Hartman was great. Knew exactly what they were talking about. It had to be custom made. It came in sooner then they said and called as soon as they got it. Very good communication.
Tim and Brandon are both great mechanics. They are very, very good with suspension work and alignments. I highly recommend this shop. Great, friendly service!
Call Hartman to have a drive shaft for my 57 chevy shortened 1" and balanced. Was quoted $125 for the job. When I got there they said it would be a little more because I need a special rear u joint (two differance sizes) and that the front joint gm uses plastic to hold the caps in. Should have been $50 more. The caps need heated to remove them. Two weeks later I called. Never called me. They said they lost my number and that they had to replace the front yoke because it was a kind they couldnt use. I have a drive shaft with a good yoke but didnt uses it Which it seams like they should have know from the start which one they can use. My bill was $291. When I looked at it. The bill said $135 for cutting and balancing. I asked about it because they said $125 to do this. They said they had to press the joints on both ends so it cost more. I was told they do this to out it in the lathe anyway. Another thing I should have been told or they should have knew. They should have called me before all this work. Seam like a bait and switch shop to me. I'll never go back.
The shop does solid work and has great attention to detail. I’ve had a differential redone and axle seals redone there with great results for reasonable for how well the work was performed.
Now, the reasoning behind the 3 stars is due to invoicing and how they have collected payments from me. My wife picked up my axles the first time and made the full payment they requested. Upon coming back for the second job (the differential) they tagged a 90$ invoice onto the second job. They reasoned it was unpaid from the first job (for reasons unknown stated by the men at the shop.) even after showing our receipt for the first invoice paid, they still insisted that we add 90$ to our bill on the second invoice....
I thought this seemed like an honest shop, but when they slap 90$ extra charges on a second job for a previous/already paid for invoice I get hesitant to come back there. Especially when they don’t even know what the 90$ was for and still insist that it was paid. (Which it was)
I’ll most likely taking my work elsewhere due to lack of transparency.
Went and asked about repairing a driveshaft, they said bring it in which I did waited all day no phone call or nothing I come in to check on the progress get hit with a bill for 600 bucks and then they tell me they couldn’t balance the shaft because they couldn’t get the parts they needed, I thought if you can’t do the job don’t take the job! Must be new ownership went there a few years back got the job done right away had no problems now I have an unbalanced vibrator under my car, never again.
Great place with great work, needed a carrier bearing knocked off and a new one pressed onto my two piece drive shaft for my hauling truck. Called in the A.M and dropped the shafts off with a new carrier and ujoints after lunch. He had the drive shaft assembled and completed within the hour. Definitely recommend 100% and I will be a returning customer in the future.
HIGHLY recommend trusting these guys with your car. I always take my Truck to Carsonia Care care (also very highly recommended). Carsonia was unable to fix the rear diff and after the second attempt (no charge) referred me to Hartman Driveshaft. This place is one of the ONLY places that won't take you for a ride. They fixed the diff without issue. I also asked for an alignment. The last place I took it to tried to push me to buy a special alignment kit needed for Rangers. Hartman's was honest and let me know the kit was not really necessary as the alignment was not that far out of spec. Its always refreshing to find a good down to earth family business. I will be returning and recommending them to friends anmd family.
