My wife and i went on a rainy day to recycle old paint and cans. We pulled up to the entrance to hear the center was closed due to the storm. While it did have lightning the storm was gone 20 minutes later. This is poor management. Middlesex county has a recycling schedule that its tax payers follow. Only to be turned away when attempting to do the right action. I certainly hope the Plainfield administration will review this matter and make clearer when a closure will occur and under what conditions it must close.
The road conditions around the coordinates (40.5622586, -74.4106998) near South Plainfield, New Jersey on Hollywood Ave are absolutely terrible and have been that way for years.
The roads are full of deep potholes, broken pavement, and uneven surfaces. Cars are constantly getting stuck, trucks struggle to get through, and vehicles are getting damaged. This is especially concerning because this area has a lot of trucking and industrial traffic, and the roads simply cannot handle the conditions they are in.
What’s frustrating is that this problem has existed for several years, yet nothing meaningful has been done to fix it. The township collects taxes and revenue from the businesses operating in this area, but the roads are still in unacceptable condition.
This isn’t just inconvenient — it’s a safety issue. Damaged roads can cause accidents, vehicle damage, and serious injuries. If someone gets hurt because of these conditions, it could have been prevented with proper maintenance.
The township needs to take responsibility and repair these roads before someone gets seriously hurt. Businesses, truck drivers, and residents all deserve safe infrastructure.
Football fields need some work. Snack bar was well run and the whole complex was fairly clean. Just the condition of the fields are somewhat of a hazard.
