Hey guys don’t get loaded here if you worry about your trailer they will load you up full trailer off Metal powder just drop it on the floor of your trailer like this. This is ridiculous. They start to load me by surprise Time to stop them loaded me they already Four shovel off metal powder on the ground of my trailer to clean it up, it will be a mess. I have not just to take it to my destination. If you wanna have a better idea what I’m talking about go the Address review you will see everything i’m truly apologize to you. I can’t post a picture of the trailer if I can at the meantime, I will put it up, but there was disgusting area to get loaded. He’s not about to get loaded. They put it in your trailer the main thing the way they load you oh man, that was crazy

The folks there are knowledgeable and a breast to current prices daily. They're pleasant and professional with prompt service everytime I roll up. Quite refreshing to have found a business that doesn't cut corners or take advantage of consumers. Keep up the great work.
DO NOT GO HERE! Scales are inaccurate. We took very accurate scale measurements before going to make sure we don’t get ripped off. Sure enough, scales have quite a difference. Both of their scales they claim have been checked back in July. However…one scale showed 60lb difference and one showed 40lb difference. Not good. Like a carnival ride, they modify the scales down after testing. Save yourself by going else where and watch out for yourself. If law enforcement could do something about this we would have called them.

My son in law and I came in to Wichita Iron and Metal to look for some metal sheets to make a firebox for his smoker. He is in the Air Force, and it was a good bonding day. I had been in many times before throughout the many years and had always been treated very well and fair. Masks need to be worn as the sign on the front gate displays, for everyone's protection. We were greeted by a very friendly worker as we entered through the front gates, refreshing indeed. We went on our way and found what we needed, (a gold mine of possibilities everywhere), and proceeded to walk from almost the back of the lot to the front with our heavy metal sheets. I'm young at 62 and still teach high school, my new son in law is not half my age. We were both doing well but I was feeling the burn. Then three gentlemen whom worked there came up to us about half way in and asked if they could carry the metal for us. WOW, with all that is going on these days with Covid and the challenges everyone faces, these young men took it upon themselves with some old fashion helping hands. Very politely and very much appreciated. Not only did they carry our material up to the front but also to our vehicle. The little things that made my day. I have always had a great time at Wichita Iron and Metal but today was extra special. The way I remember life being not to many years ago. Thank you, especially the three gentlemen that helped us. My son in law and I will be back many more times and will be telling all my teacher friends about today.
Terrible Business. I came here for a firepit of some kind. I asked how much they charge for a Steel Barrel and they said $20.00.
They asked me to go find one and they would pick it up. I found an aluminum barrel and brought it up to the office myself. Then was told it wouldnt work. I went out and found a steel barrel but they made me roll it to the office in the rain.
I told them I didnt want the entire barrel but instead was charged for the entire barrel even though I didnt take it. Since they cut it it was another $10.00. I ended up spending $30.00 on 1/3rd of a barrel. These people are scam artists. They dont have any respect or courtesy. They dont take debit/credit cards so I was forced to leave and come back with cash. After I gave the old man the money he said "You know you can take the other part of the barrel since its part of your money".
Like I said in the beginning I dont want the other part of the barrel.
The old man replied "Good luck with that and walked away."
If its part of my money then I want my money back.
Yup its a scrap metal yard nothing positive to say about these greedy people. Be Warned. They take advantage of good people! Dont do business here!
Terrible people always act like you are scum like I'm some junkie. They are the bad people always looking at you funny. I did not come here cause I need the money. Or ever have I used to come here because I own a business and make frequent trips to the dump and I try and recycle as much as possible. But i will not go back again they will not get over on me even if I don't need the cash I will not stand by while I was paid less than half by these theifs versus a competitor of theirs did the day before 53. Cents these guys paid. Abc srap yard paid over a 1.10 a day before. The price did not vary that much I'm not dumb like these crooks. I will contacting the better business bureau Monday morning. Don't believe their scale is accurate either. drity place no place to turn a trailer around once you roll over the scale totally unprofessional people and very very unorganized and just a plain mess. I'll throw it in trash before bring anything to them ever again.
I've been coming to this place for 30 some years, either to sell scrap.. or buy. I've never had an issue with anything, they always seem to have exactly what I'm looking for. I appreciate the fact that they let people go rummage through the scrap piles, and the yard workers are always available if you need help. I'll keep coming back.
Adrian and the crew are always quick to get our needs taken care of. Anytime we are at the yard they get us in and out quickly, if we call looking for material they are very quick to find exactly what we need. Wouldn't use anyone else in town.
I have been a customer of Wichita Iron & Metals for many years. I have always had an incredibly positive experience every single time I stepped on their yard!!! I can not say enough about the amazing customer service I receive from every member of their staff and would recommend them to everyone!
Terrible! They told me I couldn't weigh different items. I had clean aluminum on bottom of trailer with cast iron tub on top. Got scrap iron price on everything. Will never go back. Will tell all my people. Place sucks! Crowed and rude.
The manager and staff inside the office have always been top notch. I will not go to another scrapyard. The guys working out in the yard, well, sometimes their character can be less than desirable however usually they're okay, but most importantly, I trust their scales. I've called out errors in the readings given to me on the small scale a few times (I've been a customer for at least a decade) so my average experience is relatively positive. Every time but with one exception have I always gotten a correction from the "reader" of the scale. The one time that I could not come to an agreement to what the scale read, I decided to let it slide. The guy was apparently not having a good day and I wasn't going to raise all heck for 3 lbs of cans that he was shorting me. I didn't raise the issue when I went into the office to do the paperwork and collect my funds. Two months later, the guy that had been argumentative with me didn't work there anymore. It wasn't the 1st time that he had shorted me, in fact, previously, he had shorted me 1 lb three separate times but I let it slide then too. Fact is, I can read, write, and speak Spanish but I don't let on to the fact. This guy was a bad egg and he was giving his friends heavier weights then what they were bringing in and giving the "white boys" lower weights to compensate. I was waiting for something ridiculous b4 I blew my cover & let everyone that works there know that I'm bilingual. It works both ways. But like I said, the guy hasn't been there in a while so something brought about his termination. I couldn't imagine what that may have been. For the most part, those guys deserve every penny they make working in that environment, hell, maybe they don't make enough. I'm not privy to that type of information, and it's none of my business. Again though, I will not do business with another scrap yard in this town.
