The entire business seems sketchy and racist! They insisted on charging us for 2 days even after having our vehicle impounded for less than 24 hours. Once arrived the business is dirty and ran down it honestly looked abandoned! They charged us $387 after having our vehicle for 14 hours! They refused my husbands card payment and insisted they could only accept cash, we had been on the phone with them multiple times this was never mentioned once. They were reluctant to give a receipt and refused to let us speak to any management whatsoever. We left to go get cash from an ATM. When we arrived back at the business the gate was locked and the man was gone, we were probably gone not even 5 minutes! We once again called the office located in Marshall Illinois they told us someone would be there to get our money and help us. No one showed so we called again got the same run around. No one showed once again so we called again. Ask to talk to a manager we were placed on hold so the woman over the phone could talk to the manager still refusing to allow us to speak to management. Finally my husbands gets rude after losing patience because this has been an hour of back and forth.
The woman screams “WELL MAYBE YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE GOTTEN ARRESTED DUMBASS! I’M SENDING A STATE COP THERE NOW!” ??
My husband was not arrested he was pulled over and the car was impounded by the state police for driving with no car insurance! We left to go down the road and get cash that’s it, because we were told we had to. Then we come back and no one is here they’re refusing to open the gate and let us in. It just doesn’t make any sense.
Finally a THPD officer arrives and is very confused asking us why we called. We had to explain we didn’t, the Marshall location did and there is no one here at Terre Haute’s location. ?.
Soon after, the man returns unlocks the gate lets my husband in the asks for exact cash which my husband tells him he doesn’t have. He then tell my husband the keys are in the car, has him walk all the way across lots of ice and snow (my husband is disabled and has knock knees). Gets to the car and the keys are not in it. So he walks all the way back. He could have gotten hurt!
The guy goes in the back gets his keys no problem and gives him a receipt and finally lets him leave with his car. I 100% believe this was due to racism because my husband is black. I do believe it was a skeme to keep the car longer and charge even more and possibly pocket the cash due to cash only and having to be exact cash. And not wanting to cough up a receipt! It makes no sense? Very unprofessional and they work for the state police!
Called one wrecker they brought 2 . One wrecker worked meanwhile second wrecker didn’t do anything have on dash cam . Second wrecker sat on the side didn’t touch anything only had room for one wrecker regardless . Got charged 2 wreckers asked proof use of 2 wreckers got the run around never got proof . We have on dash cam only one wrecker filing a complaint with state as well .
Called in for a wrecker to pull me out of a width restriction where I got myself stuck. Instead of sending out the wrecker I requested, Kim decided to “stack wreckers” (a shady and unethical business practice where companies will pile on unnecessary equipment” and charge ungodly amounts for nothing. This man dispatched two rotators and their emergency vehicle for traffic control (even though ISP had traffic under control, none of which I needed as an oversized guy I had my own escorts. I firstly attempted to resolve this professionally and respectfully but in this day and age it doesn’t get you anywhere. Instead of being reasonable and not shafting me for two rotators as one of them did not work at all period, I was told the bill is the bill.
Conversing and trying to find middle ground won’t work so the process will carry on and we will rectify by other means.
It’s a shame when locals walk up in traffic and ask if you’ve called a wrecker, you respond yes then say who and they immediately tell you that you screwed up and are about to get wildly taken advantage of. In that moment I didn’t know any better and needed it out but my god I did not expect this. So word of mouth to the trucking community, and online reviews to spread the word is the way for now while we take steps to put a stop to these types of shady business practices. The Indiana Attorneys General office and local elected officials out laws on the books specifically for these guys and others whom are known to do this.
It wasn’t the $1,500 an hour grossly inflated charge (I was heavy haul wrecker before I was an oversized guy for 7 years I know how this goes), it wasn’t the two bolts they snapped with impact removing my broken driveshaft before they decided to do it by hand tool to remove the others, heck it wasn’t even the $500 an hour emergency response vehicle that did nothing that I’m upset about, it’s the stacking the second wrecker for 5 hours knowing it was unnecessary and refusing to budge on it that increased the bill roughly $8k.
I will do everything legally in my power to bring awareness and put a stop to this. It’s just nasty work to build a business reputation off of taking advantage of others.
Look them up and read about them there is many others with similar experiences. I wish I would’ve read first but I know now. No amount of state police donations will shield you from people knowing about the shady empire you guys are building.
Nearly $19K is just unfair and disrespectful at this point. There is lessons to be learned here.
I was stranded on the side of the road with my two children in Illinois, 45 min from home in Indiana. They were able to get someone to me within the hour, the price was great, and service was friendly. Wouldn't have asked for a better experience.
Had me off the side of the highway in less than a hour and gave me a discount on the bill. Was very friendly and recommended the best/fastest shop to get my truck fixed.
Didn't like the price it was definitely more than expected ( I'm in the wrong profession lol ). At least the lady at the window was polite & professional.
No one ever wants to have to deal with towing related issues but if you do this is the company to go through. No business has ever been as kind or compassionate towards me and it is something I will never forget. Josh and everyone else who helped me through this time delivered a fantastic and professional service.
Excellent, quick service. We were locked out of our vehicle while traveling through town and our call was taken after hours (8:30pm). The owner arrived within ten minutes and opened the door quickly without any damage to the vehicle. He was friendly and helpful. Provided a receipt. We are very grateful for his business!
The best service ever, police called them because our truck was stuck blocking the highway-70, they came took the truck to a safe place and did not charge us for anything. Thank you for your business guys!!!
Called this company to plug in there computer device to my truck to give me a reading on a Check engine light . They told me they couldn’t with out an explanation . They are supposed to be providing a service and the first step in that process should of been this first step . This could of taken up to 10 min at most . Maybe at the point we could of established a relationship .
They are very crocked and drove our truck then tryed to sale it after 4 days they should be shut down .I'm turnen them in to the state don't use them call absolute towing they help people .stay clear there out to screw people
The service was very good. They arrived shortly after the accident and got the car and broken pieces off the highway quickky and efficiently. I later called their office with some questions, and got the information that I needed.
They arrived in a timely manner and got the car where I needed it to go. I ended up paying out of pocket because no one wants to wait for insurance to pay anymore...
Our van died on the side of Highway 40 on the way home from Plainfiled. Just myself and my two kiddos on a hot day. Called for a tow and they came in a reasonable amount of time, very friendly staff, and the price felt reasonable to me. Would use again for sure.
I hydroplaned and ran off the road and was stuck in the mud. Rode ten minutes down the road with some friends to get a chain to pull my car out, came back and it was towed 30 minutes away while they have a location ten minutes from where my car was. Took me 3 hours to find out who had my car, couldn’t get them on the phone all afternoon or evening to retrieve my car. The next day was Memorial Day so they were closed. They charged me a day of storage on the day they were closed and wouldn’t answer the phone on the day of the towing. Total crooks. Avoid them. Or learn a lesson from me and don’t leave your car unattended.
Woke up this morning in my semi truck,it wouldn't start,called heavy duty truck parts and they gave me the name,looked it up and called, they were at my location and we got the truck started . All total 1st phone call to truck starting 20 minutes.
Called to get a quote for a tow and was told $120 dollars the same distance as every else was $65 when asked just curious why they charge almost twice as much as everyone else, their person who answered was very rude and said well you can just use one of the others then. This company and their customer service skills are horrible. I will never use this company.

This company has stolen the only two vehicles I have in the past year. 2002 Jaguar and 1988 Dodge Ramcharger. I paid cash. Hard earned money.I walk now. I am retired.I have receipts.Those vehicles are gone.Thanks to Josh. I still have titles and all the paper work . Receipts from tow bills and storage from them. No vehicles. Hard earned money. I needed Edington's Wrecker Service to tow our car to a shop for repair and they were prompt and courteous. Their wrecker drivers have years of experience and there is no one else I would trust to tow my vehicles. I would refer any friend or family member to them.
I've used them and had no trouble! I gave them a call to pick my daughter's car up and take to a garage. I was pleased with the price and the excellent service.
Got shut down at the scales on the state line for air leak and busted slack adjuster. I gave these guys a call . A nice lady answered the phone with a courteous tone and took diwn my info and what they needed and said we'll be there in 30 minutes! In the trucking industry thats almost unheard of vs. the normal 2hr wait. An Experienced mechanic quickly came out and immediately identified several issues and parts that i needed. After a quick return to the shop , he then fixed all the issues and got me back rolling at a price that is fair enough to say , they got the big names in service Beat!!! I wish we had more OTR truck service like them. Thanks for all your help

Worst service ever in my life. Overpriced and disrespectful workers. They towed for one mile $350US pick up a part $300US. When you ask questions they tell you get out. And also racism is still very much alive I had no choice but if you get stuck have a truck tow you further these people are thieves and probably the worse people Ive ever met in my life. However they did complete the job 4 days later a job that should have been $600 cost $2600. Oh yeah tack on my $200 hotel bill. Heartless and immoral is this establishment. I gave 1 star because I cannot give 0. Completed May 22 2017
UPDATE: 5 hours later after paying this incompetent company thousands my truck shut off. Stopped at the dealer, dealer confirmed real problem was never fixed by EWS. Problem is still ongoing. The dealer showed me the problem and I can only hope to make it back home. Do not go to this business they don't know what they're doing. These truck fixers are guessers. They tell you what they think it might be
UPDATE 05.23.17: one day later brought to an electrician and problem was one loose ground wire which caused a short from my ECM. Total cost to fix this $150 CDN. I paid over $3000us to this wrecker for a fuel pump that I didn't need installed to be put in and on top of that kept my pump refusing to give it back to me
I got jipped big time but I'm warning future people that may come across these guys don't waste your time. And if you happen to be a minority and not white like them good luck because they will talk to you as if you're dirt.
They have no respect no morals no business skills. Worst customer service ever and worst of all they no nothing about repairing trucks
After blowing a tire, i called EWS for a tow and new one. They worded quickly and efficently to get me back on the road safely. Big thanks to the EWS crew
I would recommend Edington's Wrecker Service to anyone I know ! They are very kind and and efficient. They helped me out when I needed a tow and were very friendly. They have the top of the line equipment!
I understand it's not their fault that the keys were locked inside and I understand needing to make a living... but charging $150 for a pop lock is THE VERY DEFINITION of HIGHWAY ROBBERY.
