I bought some chicken.. Yesterday!! Today I was going to cook it. It was already smelly. The day I was in the store. I got a real bad smell.. I saw a pack of chicken , and pork tore open. That was the smell... If I can help get you closed I will.
Bought some sliced ham that was rotten.
Bought liver wurst that ran out of date May 18, 2025. Today is June 8th.
Bought tomatoes that had mold on the bottom.
Will not be back.
We bought several packages of ground chuck and all of them had a funky taste after cooking! Like it was old or on the verge of being spoiled! Never had that happen before but I was very disappointed with it!
Prices are only cheaper on certain items so you just have to look for deals. Be very cautious when buying your meat because I have seen meat that's already turned dark and they're still selling for full price. Also noticed mold in the containers of the strawberries and grapes. In all honesty, I prefer shopping at Walmart Super Center instead of Shoppers Value in Hamilton.
Cost plus 10% store. They have a very good meat department! They will cut meat special for you, I buy pork loins and have them cut into chops etc. Best meat and usually best meat prices around. Good produce department too. Friendly and helpful workers.
Love this place, there's a great selection of snacks, drinks vapes and cigarettes (if you're a smoker) the prices there are about the cheapest around. I would go out of my way to shop here, Great place and people
It's a pretty clean little grocery store if you don't want to go to Walmart cuz supercenter this is your only other choice in town. Unless you're going to the Bent and dent store across from the housing projects
Last few times I have bought groceries there , the quality of the food was horrible. For example, the other day, I purchased a can of Hormel chili, expiration date was 2025, but when I opened the can the food inside the can was bad. I normally don't complain, but this has happened over a period of time. And of course, you don't bring it back cause it's just a can of chilli. But one time it was chicken Alfredo, can of soup. Over a years time that is a lot of wasted time money !
I buy my groceries here so that I'm not supporting a business like Walmart who's guilty of crime's against humanity and treason! The food here is just as good as Walmarts and I'm not supporting sinners! Also child sextraficking evil people are about to be exposed and if you support the one's doing it it's no different than you doing it yourself!
Good prices on meat. Not many other deals. Employees are friendly. Just wish the place didn't stink so bad. It smells like their coolers haven't been cleaned out in a long time.

Found pork chops in Mark down area where prices had been marked $7, then marked down to just over $5.... Found NORMAL chops (almost same weight) were also $5....hmmmmmm.... marked up and mark down?????
Found most prices higher than Wal-Mart..
Dollar General has better can good prices...
The grocery store is clean and organized. The employees are always helpful and nice. The thing I dislike the most is the parking lot. It's hard to push the shopping cart because it is so rough and uphill. A 12 pack of drinks fell out of the bottom of the buggy while I was pushing the cart to my car. It wasn't the first time this has happened to me either. So when that happened it busted one of the drinks and I didn't know it. So when I got home I had a huge mess in my car and it was all over the rest of the groceries I had purchased. Fix that and it would be 5 stars to me.
Ok. This place really doesn't have that great of a deal on a lot of things. You have to be really careful on what you buy. They do have a reduced meat section in the back that I hit up all the time. The biggest issues is that you have to be careful about the dates in some of the meat in the reduced price section. Some of it may have been expired for a week or r more. However, just check the dates before you buy. All in all I love this place. I spend a lot of money there.
Relatively close to my dwelling and usually not too crowded. I have had to ask employees on two occasions to put their mask on properly. I have not observed them wiping down the belt either, but that's probably not necessary. The store is improved somewhat under the new ownership. I do miss the volume of marked or clearance items they used to have, but the aisle of 88 cent stuff helps. Better selection at times than Wal-Mart and the freezers seem to work now. If I could have perishable goods delivered to my home I would not set foot inside again, but otherwise it is a tolerable experience.
Always busy, barely any lanes open, but always has staff running around doing what appears to be nothing. On top of that I also have gotten food poisoning 4 times from there!
This is a little town, and when you enter the store the employees treat you like family. Super Valu is very convenient for me I live appx 3-4 blocks away. I feel much safer at Super Valu during this pandemic. There is nowhere near the amount of people at Super Valu that there is in Walmart.
They are always pleasant and friendly. I go there almost everyday. I also happen to know for a fact that they get locally grown produce in the store from time to time when available.
Love going here, great deals and very friendly staff! Oh and if you don't know this they carry your stuff to the car for you and load it up for you also, so anyone with an elderly family member wanting to shop for them self this is a great place to go.
They're not good on their Prices!! The thing I don't like is you have to pay 10 percent on everything!! So, this makes your grocery bill higher!! I don't get food stamps and 10percent more plus taxes makes things higher!And im on a set income!!
