This rating is based on customer reviews, inventory size, pricing, and service quality
Customer sentiment for Watkins Metals Co., Inc in Birmingham, AL is strongly positive: professional, helpful staff, solid scrap payouts, a clean, safe yard, and help with unloading. Many would choose it over other local recyclers. Themes: staff professionalism and pricing praised; yard looks tidy, but signage for first‑timers is thin. Complaints include no one answering the phone, occasional rude attitude, and small debris posing tire risks. Limited info on inventory/parts or wait times, so some uncertainty remains. Overall: 91/100.

What clients say about Watkins Metals Co., Inc in Birmingham (AL)
Went here a a year or so ago, and the gentlemen here were so helpful. Walked me through everything and explained what to do while also making sure I got every penny for my different materials
Watkins Metals Co.,IS THE BEST PLACE FOR YOUR SCRAP IS HERE THEY PAY YOU FOR EVERY PIECE ,THEY ARE CLEAN FRIENDLY AND HAS IT TOGETHER ,KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK .THANK YOU ALL ,TERA
No signs or instructions up for 1st timers, but then a man came out to tell what to do,then they help me unload. I will return to this local company . Great to have instead of having to drive down town for the same price.
To start with they wouldn’t answer the phone then when you get you there’s no instructions for first times there and when you ask what to do you get a horrible attitude and you better have good tire tread because they don’t rake up or pick up any small scrap on ground you just have to run it over. I would go back but still horrible customer service.
