What clients say about Pull-A-Part in Birmingham (AL)
The website says open to 6 pm Sunday to Thursay. They quit letting people in at 4:30. Drove nearly an hour based on their in correct information. The guy said there was nothing that could be done. A free entrance voucher for next time would have helped. Update the website to correct opening hours and when the gate closes.
Went today at pull apart in Birmingham. Decent cars out there. But came across some poop inside a truck very discussing told one of the workers there and he said, that don’t even surprise me. Other than that decent vehicles out there.
Nice place to find reasonably priced used parts to repair your vehicle. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the cars they have on the yard. I've been coming here for years.
I know we all have bad days sometimes but the cashier/checkout woman KACHANTA had a very rude attitude. it wasn't no hello how you doing or no type of friendly nice customer service or anything she have a very nasty disposition.
Bought a lot of good used parts here. Pretty good wrecking yard with decent prices. They keep it clean compared to over wrecking yards I’ve been to which is nice.
You have to pay two dollars just to walk in there. The public who are there to pull parts are incredibly nice and kind. But it’s probably best bring your own tools. The staff I can’t really say much about them.. I suggest wearing gloves and maybe even goggles. I know that sounds crazy but when I left there after pulling parts, my eye was red for three days straight there’s pieces of metal floating around in the air and all kinds of God knows what you’re breathing in.. also the gravel is treacherous so I would wear boots or something with a thick heel. I would go as early as possible because it’s so dang hot!! And they offer 30 day refund, but the refund is only good for in-store credit.
I went there today to see if they have parts for my car. Guy showed me that they have it so I told him I'm going get my tools and I'll be right back. When I got there the headlight was not there and front bumper was destroyed. I don't recommend this place
I went online, to see if they had a used alternator for my 2006 Honda civic. They said they had plenty of cars, but I could not search for parts for the car. I was only able to look up the general base price for all the alternators.. I am looking for 1 specific part, and they cannot tell me if they have it.
I absolutely love going to pull apart. Be sure and wear good shoes. That gravel is hard on a pair of converse tennis shoes lol!! And if your going to be a while bring you a sweat rag during the summer because it gets hot. But you can find anything you need at this place plus some items you had not thought about purchasing!!
For a service company they lack actual service. I have tried to schedule a time for them to tow a car twice. Neither time has been successful. Their tow driver cannot seem to give a time to actually do their job. They have shown themselves to be unwilling to work with me to set a definite time. Now they have lied because they apparently weren't willing to wait on me to get to the location of the car. Do not use them for anything outside of their version of a normal transaction.
Complete rip off they charged me $30.73 for one upper control arm that I had to go take off the car when I could have bought a new one for $2 more I don’t recommend anyone ever spending another dollar at this rip off establishment smh do better stop being so greedy feeding off people that can’t afford to pay someone to fix there car
I'm sure most of you has been to a pull a part and I'm sure most of you haven't been and some probably doesn't know what it is. But imma tell you guys it's the best invention they came up with especially if you don't have the money to go buy a brand new starter for your car they are expensive and at A Place Called Pull A Part you can get it pretty cheap got a used starter for 23 bucks it's a used part but at pull a part they are wrecked cars that still have good parts on them or even a good motor. I loved my experience at pull a part I can't say that it's clean obviously because it's a car lot with wrecked junk cars with still good parts on them and it's an awesome place and I love going there. So I recommend this place to anyone that needs a part for a low price if the part doesn't work they issue a 30 day warranty to bring it back and exchange it for they same part you got. So it's definitely a dam good deal.
I sent my husband and daughter to get a part for my car. My husband gave a $100 , My purchase in the amount of $38. 26 which would have left us with the amount of $61.74. When I got my money the amount was only $41.74, two twenties, and a dollar bill. I tried calling customer service many times as well as email NO ANSWER so we drove from Calera to speak with some one they come showing a video that shows much of nothing but on a sly trying to say maybe my daughter took it.. One of the male managers said maybe it fell in the console being sarcastic!! I am very pissed about my money so they not willing to own up to what's right for customer service. It's like you could care less. To drive way from Calera do you actually think someone would make up a lie. And to know places like this make all this money daily to where you checking people bags to see if they took anything but not owning up to the fact that you miss counted my money. Well I want you to know this company will loose more than they will gain when you don't do right by people. .and thw lady does alot of stereotyping , she has the nastiest attitude. She looks people up and down and has no interest in wanting to help the customers on a professional level. Then people why the fer sued for things because how they conduct themselves. So why check customers belongings as they come from the outside to see if anything been stolen if your not willing to do what's right!!!!
Last time coming this place had no problem when I took my son here every weekend that last few times had this woman that stereotypes people ask for cart they broken but see people use them ok no problem. Went this morning with my son got that same woman cart broken seen someone hand in cart keys told her oh that one broken my son to young go in he 14 never had problems before until now my tool bag to heavy couldn’t take it in. Last time going there
Mr. David at the Birmingham Alabama location did a excellent job with servicing me as a customer. I also saw him giving other customers the same experience. Mr. David is an outstanding employee that needs a raise. He puts more work in that is required of him as an employee for Pull-A-Part. Thanks a lot Mr. David, I will be back if I need to and refer customers/business your way.
Always have a great time when I get a chance to go. Customer service is always Prompt and Friendly. Coming here is like going to a favorite thrift store. You never know what you might get to come home with. Even if they don't have exactly what you came for, you're just about guaranteed to go home with something. I never leave disappointed or empty handed.
Our salesperson Jeramie Spaulding was fantastic! From start to finish, he was kind, courteous, and very knowledgeable about the cars for sale on the lot. He thoroughly answered all of our questions and was very patient and understanding as we searched around, test drove, and then selected a great vehicle which was exactly within our budget and style preference. Thanks so much for your time!
It's a pull your own parts scrapyard, the bar isn't set high with scrap yards but I had a good experience. Vehicle inventory was accurate, staff was quite pleasant. Layout of the lot is functional and decently marked. Check inventory the morning before you come as these vehicles are quickly pulled apart and cycle frequently. I was able to get all of the parts I was searching for on this trip but go with the understanding that this won't always be the case. The inventory listed car may be missing half of the parts if enough people got to it before you and that is at no fault of the business. Early bird gets the alternator... Decent place, will be back.
Great prices, easy to find the vehicles you are looking for. I was happy it was all gravel so it didn’t hurt my back laying down. Only issue I ran into was checking out, they took way too long to try to identify which parts came off the vehicle. They need to understand basic car parts more better.
Pros:
Great selection! Found one of the two parts we needed. Nice, organized setup with plenty of room to work. Amazing website.
Cons:
Masks required in an open-air building when the state mandate was lifted. Masks are not complimentary, but $1 and cannot be refused for medical exemptions. Very unsafe. Employees wear masks improperly with noses exposed. No alternatives for medical mask exemption, like outdoor entrance to yard- VERY unsafe for medical conditions that except from masking. Cashier spoke a mixture of Spanish and English to English-speaking customers.
It was easy 2 find what I needed & an all around good experience except that know one knew were 2 send me 2 rent a golf cart. I was sent from one side & back to the other until finally I was told there were no more available. After walking thru 2 the inside I seen 4 golf carts all parked there up against the wall. Its obvious there needs to be improvements made there on were to rent them instead of a bunch of confused employees sending people back & fourth but other then that all was great.
Good program to reuse parts. Getting in and out during covid is a little slower. But easy to get through. The website helps to search for parts before you go onsite and saves you time before you go.
This is your normal pick your own parts lot. Well laid out but the employees are the best part here. The employees are happy to be at this location and it shows.
Alternator $26.20 + tax
Install $50 - $100
That's cheaper than most new big box store alternators. So as you can see by that example it pays to be smart. Plus you're getting OE parts and not some China garbage. Support your local economy people.
Decent reasonable prices for used parts. Good selection of vehicles in a variety of states. Let's face it, I'd rather pay $20 for a used throttle position sensor that took me 10 minutes to find and collect that $120 brand new from a store, especially since once you remove it from its packaging you can't return it to the store.
