What clients say about Southern Accents Architectural Antiques in Cullman (AL)

Walking into Southern Accent Showroom truly feels like stepping into a Hallmark movie. My girlfriends visiting from Florida were completely charmed, and my best friend said the whole experience—both the town and the store—felt like a movie set in the best way. Garlan, the owner, was absolutely incredible. Warm, welcoming, and overflowing with knowledge about every piece—its history, its purpose, its story. He shared his finds with such enthusiasm, offered great laughs, and even toasted us with a little bourbon. This store will make you want to buy an old house just to fill it with the treasures they discover. An absolute must-visit in Cullman!

Absolutely amazing. It’s honestly overwhelming when you first walk in because there is SO MUCH to see- but the owners are super helpful and will make sure you find what you need !

What a neat store! Truly a salvage place. Old solid doors, fire place mantles, chandeliers, boards, trim, all kinds of door hardware, shutters. It's all there if you like the good stuff from days gone. Will be back when in Cullman. Easy to find off 65 and to park.

So far this is the WORST customer service experience. I ordered cabinet hardware over a month ago and still don’t have them. I’ve called probably 20 times only for someone to pick up twice then say they will call me back which has not happened.

Great place to find items from the olden days. Would be a good place to shop for items for a repair or replace for the older houses.

Would have been a 5 star but to the very end when they went all 'big brother' and wanted name, phone number and city of residence for their database...on a cash transaction!

Insanely unique. Museum grade pieces. If you are renovating a historic home this is the place you need. Well organized. Prices do reflect the rarity of the pieces so be warned.

Very interesting place to browse very unique collections of decor, hardware, and items removed from old buildings. Free cokes and water while you shop. Nice ppl. Recommended

This is such a unique antique shop and my husband and I had a blast wandering through to check out the old pieces. While we did not purchase anything, we definitely will be back once we are on our next project. The store offers complimentary glass cokes in this cool ice chest and the staff was very attentive. This antique store is two stories plus a warehouse in the back.

I drove from Birmingham to see the "largest selection of architectural antiques in the South". I was impressed by the beautiful, historic things, but wanted to cry at the ridiculously high prices on EVERYTHING. I understand that one of a kind items, from a limited source are going to be pricey, but old doorknobs don't have to cost $65! I found a chandelier that I fell in love with at an antique store and paid $25 for it. This place had one and it was marked $125. Enough said.

5 stars alone for Tiger Pierce but the shop keepers were incredibly kind and inviting even telling us to not worry about closing time!

Wonderful selection and even better service! We purchased some reclaimed wood for a remodel. Sandy was amazing! So patient and such a tremendous help! Thanks a million!

I loved everything in this rarely going salvage antique store. You can get amazing wooden doors and mantles and awesome door knobs and classic crown molding pieces of installing new molding in a home. And there's an amazing rod iron stuff outside and old sides were gas stations in. Really, great black rod iron handles for drawers and cabinets. Also had other intricate doorknobs and signage and rehomed type antique stuff. You can choose to look at and purchase baby everything. They even have an old coke bottle machine. You can get a bottled coke for free while you shop. A really fun and neat place to visit. It had 3 parts and is very much like a vintage building type of everything store. Has both indoor and outdoor sections of the store and a back huge warehouse room of wood things you can look through to purchase too. but if youre not very mobile you may want to stay in the first part of the store

Amazing selection, everything is super well organized for such an enormous amount of stock. The sales lady was able to tell us exactly where everything we needed to look for might be. The prices were great for the items we purchased and Sandy was so friendly and welcoming. It’s the best place that we have found for unique vintage or antique architectural pieces for our projects.

What a great place to find anything house, home or structural related to old buildings! 1800's, 1900's everything from doors, door hardware, old lumber, glass, if it was used in old structures, it's here! Even saw a complete fireplace had carved mantel that was about 15 feet wide by 20 feet tall, I believe it was Mahogany wood, beautiful, 1920's from Pennsylvania. Just saying the source their product from all over the country. This place nearly gave me a heart attack from just the shear amount of materials they have in their several buildings! Seriously, redoing an oldie, making a newie look like an oldie, or just looking for a certain period specially piece, it is here! No doubt!

This place is absolutely amazing! If you have an old house and need literally anything, they have it. If you want to add some cool old charm to your new house, they have it. There is a huge selection of everything from hardware, doorknobs, doors, windows, lights, trim, and a separate warehouse for reclaimed wood. They can make you custom doors if you need something special. The staff is amazing and always accommodating. And seriously, if you have an old house and need obscure items, they likely have it. We have been trying to restore an old craftsman home and this place has been a life saver! I cannot give this place enough stars! Do yourself a favor and come check it out!

This is one of my favorite places to go when I visit Cullman. I love downtown with all their shops. Across the street was a great place to get hot chocolate or coffee if you like.

A wonderful place to explore! Make sure you walk through all of their space. Beautiful antique doors! Stained glass! Knobs! SO. MANY. things. And the VERY knowledgable staff is always ready to answer questions.

Love visiting here, always something new to see, a must to explore all over not just the main store front. There is stuff you won't find much anywhere else and because of this priced as you would expect for rare hard to find things. Beautiful doors , interesting windows, accents etc. The back building has an excellent collections of vintage doors of many varieties, outside has vintage bricks and mailboxes and other out door decor.

Beautiful antique pieces. The owners were very helpful and super nice. We had our children with us and they offered us all bottled sodas. We will definitely be back!

Okay if your are remodeling or just trying to replace something in an older place this is your store. I have done a great deal of work in the historic district in Savannah Ga. The items required to bring these structures back to their former glory are hard to find. This place is a gold mine. You will find things you've likely never seen before. great!

Fantastic place!! The owner Garland is just a doll, very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to share my knowledge of the old Shelby Bulbs with him and he was very interested. They are truly saving history!!

Southern Accents has the largest selection of architectural antiques in the south. Mr. Gudger is extremely knowledgable and very helpful. I met the kindest and most helpful part-time worker one Saturday and because of this personal, old-fashioned service, I'll be back and tell everyone I know. The guy's name is Billy or Bill best I can remember!! Great place!!

Great place to find that unique piece you've been looking for. Everything there is authentic, hand picked by the the owner and staff. They find houses that are in the process of being demolished and make every attempt possible to convince the property owner to allow them time to record any history on the property, to capture the structure through photography and drawings, and to rescue any significant architectural components from the property. This is all done to preserve the history of this property so that it can live on once the property owner has demolished the structure.

Although this place is really neat and had some great Architectural Salvage, it is way overpriced. They could sell twice as much inventory if they would cut some of their prices in half. Some items like door knobs were priced comprable to what I have seen in many other stores but everything else was extremely high. Much higher than I've seen in other stores of which I have been to many

I love the shop, and could spend an entire day there. They have everything that I didn't know I needed. Also, the owner Garland is a great guy and a lot of help in finding anything that will work for what you need.
