*Updated* Cheap, overpriced items consistently stocked. There is a reason why these products are ‘unclaimed’. Staff seemed poorly trained as well. There are better places to shop for your buck. Small’s Unclaimed Mail is hands down one of the best hidden gems in the Richmond area! The staff truly go above and beyond every single time — their customer service is unmatched. You can tell they really care about their customers and the community.
The prices are amazing, the deals are unbeatable, and there’s always something new and exciting to find. Whether you’re bargain hunting or just love discovering unique items, this is the place to be.
If you haven’t checked them out yet, you’re missing out. Small’s is easily one of the best stores in Henrico and the greater Richmond area. Highly recommend!
Most of the items I looked at for sale were pretty overpriced for being resold items. Many of items are also no longer in the appropriate packaging to be considered new.
I was so excited to visit here but left disappointed. The employees are super nice! But other than that I don’t really understand why you’d go here. You can get much of the same stuff for cheaper in better condition at Marshalls, or ScrapRVA, or DollarTree, Walmart or Amazon, Goodwill… I mean in theory it’s a great concept, to keep things from the landfill, but when you can get the exact same thing not as best up for cheaper elsewhere, I don’t get it. I saw a lot of things that were in fact MORE expensive than new at your average store, for example one single basic Crayola markers, free promotional pens and composition notebooks for $1 each. Everything just seemed priced as new or higher to me.
I absolutely LOVE this place! I find all types of stuff for really cheap. They have all types of discounts constantly. They also have bins that are $1 and $.60. I definitely recommend shopping here.
This place is a nightmare not a thrift store. It’s a mess. The prices are sky high. Example fire blankets are 9 dollars on Amazon but they wanted 17 dollars. No one spoke to me in the fifteen minutes I was there. Clothing was 30 to forty dollars. Never going back.
While visiting Richmond last weekend, I did a Google search for thrift stores and found this spot. I'm so glad I stopped by! We dropped in on a Monday afternoon and it was the perfect time because not many people were there and this is definitely a spot you need time in. I loved the variety of items offered. You do have to take time to really look, but I was very impressed with the selection. I got hats, a tote bag, a pair of shoes and my husband even got a cellphone holder. Also, I was so surprised to see plus size clothing available for sale. Very nice and unexpected! As for pricing, I felt most prices were fair; however, I do feel some things were overpriced in my opinion. For example, I saw a box of stationary cards priced at $15. That wouldn't deter me from returning, though, because a lot of things I purchased were $5 or less. I'll definitely visit again next time I'm in town.
Supper nice folks who were generous with their cardboard for my gardening project. It was my first time in the store and I'll definitely go back! Check it out for all those household items you did not know that you needed. :)
Cool store concept, but...almost everything is priced as if it were brand new. I was expecting things to be marked down at least 10-20%, because if not, what's the appeal? Store is organized very much like a thrift store, so the disappointment is real when you find something you would like at MSRP. I'll be back when they figure it out.
Came over from Tennessee to visit some family back home. This was a nice little shop to visit up in Richmond. I've been up there a couple times and have talked to the owner Andrew while buying some Military Surplus that happened to be in there.
Staff was super accommodating and even held some items for me when I was in a rush and had to leave. Overall great store with tons of items in there and a friendly atmosphere. 10/10 Would recommend if you stop by there.
We visited Virginia from Pennsylvania one time and decided to stop in. They have great selection and some items you can't always find anywhere else. Staff seem friendly enough and just a generally welcoming place
So this place seems to be simply a type of thrift store with everyday cheap dollar store type items for sale.Although the prices were not really thrift prices. Worth a quick look although the items weren't really worth the prices they were asking. Staff was very friendly however.
I really like it, huge selection, like a yard sale of new stuff reasonably priced. These days that is hard to find, even yard sales are charging more. This is way better. Really liked it.
They get neat stuff in here, but alot of the prices on stuff are comparable to online if not more expensive than online. Definitely worth walking through but just confirm online with what ever you're buying you're getting a good deal.
I frequent many thrift and discount stores, good and poor and in between. As a thrifter and consignment shop-goer, here is my unbiased and truthful review of Smalls!
I was there on opening! I've been going to Smalls Discount since I saw a Facebook ad revealing their store. I thought, "Huh another consignment shop." But Smalls has always exceeded my expectations, and has always genuinely surprised me with how organized, clean, and friendly the experience is.
This is unlike any other thrifting experience. This is truly a treasure hunt. You'll need time if you want to look at everything, as some things are in boxes but they definitely do their best to label them. I'd say like 95% of everything is brand new (the other 5% could honestly be opened but unused!) I've found some incredible name brand items for a fraction of the price before any of their incentive discounts from fishing to pet items to duvet covers to phone cases and probably anything you could think of. The deals are unbelievable and they run incentives almost every day of the month for different items!!
I was there for the punch card rewards system, but now they have a loyalty program that is honestly incredible. I'm so so happy Smalls is doing well, as they deserve it through their hard work and dedication.
I want to give a shout out to Robert who checked us out today. He was really holding down the fort, putting things away, helping customers at the front and asking if anyone needed assistance. It's really nice to be greeted and helped in such a friendly and genuine manner.

Unfortunately, i was sold a stolen Amazon product unsealed. I’m sure they didn’t know, but Amazon locks stolen products. This was sealed mind you….
Here’s the issue. Despite the legitimate issue with the product, I got attitude from the sales clerk and an only store credit explanation. The manager made it right,
But I’m left feeling unwelcome the next time I go shopping there. I would also not buy modern stuff there just in case.
Absolutely astonished I’ve never heard of this place. Incredible prices as well. Got 4 Dior matching mugs and a Zara top for under $30. The owner gets inventory from palettes so it’s a very unique collection of everything. 10/10
Did my Christmas shopping here last year and got entered into their raffle for a trip to Disney and I won! Took my mom for Christmas this year and had an absolute blast! Thanks so much and congrats on the bigger and better location!
Super cool thrift store with a little bit of everything. Their inventory changes all the time, so there is constantly new stuff on the shelves. If you see something you want definitely buy it because there is no guarantee it will be there the next day. The staff is super friendly
Absolutely love this thrift store. The have a little something for everyone. The staff is super friendly and polite. So is the owner and his brother is an amazing soul with alot to give out in the world. Customer service is top notch. Prices are great. Excited to watch them grow. And fill more families with joy on there days out and about
Smalls is a great little store, they have lots of unexpected/unusual items at a good price! The staff are always welcoming and they respond to messages quickly. It's pretty cool to have to this quirky shop in my neighborhood, I tell everyone about it!
