Broke the rear end in the Camaro and called A1 because my company also uses them for the big heavy wreckers. Told my situation to the dispatcher and asked if they had a flatbed truck. She sent the driver as I was on the phone and within 20-25 minutes my car was already being loaded up safely. Driver was excellent and very friendly. I'll be calling again soon when it goes to the shop. Definitely recommend. Also for heavy haul and commercial rigs they can tow or pull you out as I've used them for the commercial side as well.

Thet tow truck driver who towed my vehicle loosened the cables on my battery and made it where it would not start at their impound. Even after getting a jump start, the vehicle would die and not start because of that loose cable. I have never had an issue with this until they towed my truck.This is a tactic to keep the vehicle in their impound in order to make more money. Tow truck drivers earn commissions. I recommend to never use them. Also, the owner or dispatcher was a complete a-hole.

I have filed a TDLR complaint and encourage others who encounter this behavior to do so as well. Their VSF number is 0618108 I called the office phone number and asked "what do I need to bring to have the vehicle released to me?" She told me I need to bring physical copies of proof of financial responsibility (insurance), cash payment, and my driver's license. I acknowledged that I had all of these items and that I was on my way to the Ramona address. She acknowledged this and told me to call the office phone number when I arrived at the location. Upon being dropped off at the location, I called the office phone number back to notify A1 Wrecker of my arrival. The same lady answered the phone again and stated "Okay. Thanks for letting me know. I will send one of my drivers out and the estimated time of arrival is 30 minutes." Apparently, the location is unmanned, and they will not send someone there until you confirm your arrival, causing a minimum additional wait time of 30 minutes. I waited outside in cold temperatures for 35 minutes and no one had arrived, so I called the office phone number again. The same lady answered and the conversation went as follows: Me: Hi, I've been waiting outside for well over 30 minutes now. Can I please get an updated ETA for the driver? I was dropped off here, and it is very cold outside. Phone operator: Oh wait. You aren't in a vehicle? Me: No. I was dropped off and have been waiting here for over 30 minutes. Phone operator: Okay. Thanks for calling me back. I will request a driver to come out now. Me: Excuse me? I called over 30 minutes ago to confirm my arrival and you stated a driver was being sent out. Did you think I was lying to you or something? Phone operator: People actually show up and leave very often. So I only send someone out if I can see them on the camera. Where are you now? Me: Are you serious? I have been standing here in front of the building for over 30 minutes in the cold. I am well in the view of the cameras. Why has no one been sent out yet? Phone operator: I am sending someone out now She then hung up the phone. This practice is completely unacceptable. This towing yard should NOT be contracted with any local police departments. We do not have any choice in where the vehicle gets towed to. They are abusing their contract with local police departments because their "customers" have no choice but to pick up their vehicles from where they are towed. The phone operator made the assumption that I was LYING to her about being at the tow yard, despite prior and recent phone calls stating that I am on my way, and another phone call to confirm my arrival. This business needs to be reprimanded for completely unethical business practice. They are definitely committing a violation by allowing this to be their normal course of business. A simple search of their google and yelp reviews shows that this practice is CONSISTENT over a long period of time. After my third phone call, it then took another 1 hour of waiting in the cold before someone arrived to help me get my vehicle released. Also, be advised they will charge you 2 days of storage even if your vehicle has been there less than 12 hours, so long as the vehicle was delivered before midnight the day before.

On Thursday, my 90 year-old grandfather was in a bad accident. Fort Worth Police had A-1 take his car, which is expected and totally fine. I showed up today, thinking their 24-hour open policy also meant they would be open for me to get items out of the car so his auto insurance company could get their claims process started. After calling this was not to be true, and I then decided that this was the most atrocious interaction I've had with anyone. The lady at A-1 that answered the phone had an immediate attitude. Explained that their hours for receiving items out of the car was only for M-F from 8-3, which is fine. Not a big deal. She then proceeded to ask me if my name was on the insurance for the vehicle, to which I answered "no." She then proceeded to tell me that only the person on the insurance policy would be able to get into the car. Naturally, I explained that he is in the hospital, undergoing surgery tomorrow, and will be in rehab for 3 months, therefore will not be able to get to the car. She offered NO alternative or help as to what we could do and had a horrible attitude with me over the phone. I explained that I just wanted help and some suggestions, and she had nothing to offer. Hopefully Fort Worth Police will consider using a different wrecker service. Absolutely ridiculous.

I initially left a very negative review, as I see the majority for this company are, with the exception of a few with obvious agendas. Most obvious, those who don't review under their own Google Account but use someone else's Google Account to leave their review. I am editing my original review only because my son thinks I may have left feed back, naming the wrong person. I'd hate for the wrong person to get wrongfully accused, and am reviewing without including names. I called to get some info on how to have my son's car released to him if he lost his ID. I was only calling because he was frustrated, and had let me know the woman he originally spoke with was extremely rude and unhelpful. I called to see if I could do any better with obtaining the information he needed, and had the same experience, she even hung up on me. It's a very COWARDLY move to hang up on someone because they are justifiably upset, it shows a lack of intellectual reasoning skills and ability to problem solve. I hate to call someone out for being simple minded, but at the same time, it's your job to deal with others and some degree of intellect is needed. That is what effective customer service is all about. Again, I only called to help my son get the info he needed since he was not happy with how he was being spoken too, and He informed me the "lady was very rude". The second young lady who spoke with me, solved the problem in about a minute. She simply listened to me and by that time I was very upset. She heard me out and gave us the information we needed, asap. Granted the other woman may have been telling us that same info, yet if she was, we did not understand it and her communication skills left much to be desired. When dealing with the public, particularly in a towing business be prepared to deal with stressed out, upset customers. Implementing effective listening skills is all it takes most of the time to diffuse the situation, and help out a disgruntled customer.

for starters, i'm reading all the reviews on here. and i personally dont know the owners or anything, so i'm not biased. i called, asked a quote and time frame, was given an estimate on time frame and on price. i did call other places and nobody offered a faster service. i believe Tony was my tow truck driver, he was very respectful and nice. and so was the lady who answered the phones, in fact even when i called back her and i visited for a bit. :-) i couldnt remember what my final price was and she said oh no problem let me check again. super nice! Tony actually gave me a ride back home. which wasn't something they have to do. I was very appreciate of their just general politeness in everyone i talked to and met yesterday. you get what you pay for. sure you could spend 60-80 on a tow, but you may end up waiting all day. i was quoted about 3-35 min. Tony arrived way earlier, and was super nice! I was quite impressed with his towing abilities and definitely learned something new about how to unload a car off a trailer. Everyone was super nice and respectful. you couldn't ask for a better tow service. you really couldnt. So I personally want to say thank you A-1 wrecker service for getting my vehicle to the mechanic and myself and back home safely! truly appreciate you! top notch service! thank you so much everyone!!! definitely recommend!
