He showed up on the car accident scene after police reached out to him and was very considerate and professional.
He took our 2014 Ford Fiesta to his secured lot. The following day he communicated with us promptly so we could retrieve anything else from the car since it was deemed totalled by insurance. He even brought the car up to us so we didn't have to walk in the mud.
You don't find that kind of kindness and thoughtfulness in the industry much these days. Hopefully he doesn't retire soon in case we ever find ourselves in similar situation again.
DO NOT USE THIS GUY!!!! HE IS TERRIBLE!!!!!He is the worst tow driver. Rude!!! Overcharges!!! If he is not happy with what he does, he needs to find another line of work. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE DURING MY TIME OF NEED!!!!
My boyfriend blew out a tire on the side of the highway with his two kids. I was recommended to Herbert's by Goldsboro Tire Pro. I am so happy that I was. He was picked up within an hour, even with the guy being gone on a call when I originally contacted them. They even offered to pick my boyfriend and the kids up on the route back from the previous tow job. It ended up that there wasn't enough seats but the thought was still there! When I told them I would have to pay over the phone and they didn't offer that service they told me they would bill me through Goldsboro Tire Pro so that I could pay. They were really amazing and caring about the whole situation. Pricing also wasn't as high as I anticipated.
Thought Herbert was the only mechanic in town that could be trusted, my parents have been using his services for many years, as have I. Purchased a used vehicle from him six months ago, was told the engine was in perfect driving condition, had problems with this car since day one and it turned into a money pit within six months and I had to purchase another vehicle. He didn't give me any break when I had to pay for the car not having a working heater and then he told me I had a possible gasket leak but turns out they had was cracked, unfortunately, I believe it was cracked when I purchased it because it never overheated in the six months I owned it. Even after I purchased a new her vehicle at Matthew motors and Herbert was rewarded with a $100 recommendation check, he would not let me pick up my car without another $75 tow fee. I tried to discuss with him my concerns and I felt I had been ripped off and he wouldn't discuss it with me and hung up on the phone. Very immature, such a disappointment after so many years, maybe he's having money problems? An oil change for $50 seems a bit high, $2800 down the drain and hoping my next mechanic has scruples.
Rip off. They said my car shouldn't be able to make it home when they did the state inspection on my car. Also, they also whacked my license plate lights to get me on that, and they try to screw me over on some old codes on my OBDII (You should always reset the codes to see if they come back up. The problem is still around if the codes come back up)
Other problems I found with them was they were cash only, a dirty/small shop, and they are obviously con artist. Stay away and save your money/car.
