If you’re looking for a backyard mechanic Mr. Baker is NOT THAT! After my car broke down he was very fast, communicated very well, and overall easy to work with. He was very convenient fixing my car the same day. While diagnosing the issue with my car he was very thorough with explaining and demonstrating different things under the hood with me so that I could have a clear understanding. Top notch professional!! Knowledgable, honest and personable. My grandmother found Mr.Baker on Google and saw all his wonderful reviews. We took the car in on a Friday evening, he got the parts ordered the same day, and he got the car back to us the very next day! The dealership we originally took the car to had a list of repairs that weren’t needed, but he was honest about what was truly wrong and fixed what was needed. The Experience I had with Mr. William was great ♥️ When he done my brakes he’s knew exactly what was wrong with my brakes. He was honest and truthful when working on my car which I love, while he was fixing my brakes he made me laugh. Mr. Baker truly exceeded my expectations. One of my headlights had already previously went out and I procrastinated getting it fixed. I found myself coming out of the store at nearly 10 o’clock at night to both of my headlights being blown. I knew that I had to pick up my children and so I knew that I would need my car in a drivable condition. After going through hell trying to get work done, Mr. William came in to save the day. Checked out my car from a-z. Even though I had to put my car down, he worked harder than what he had to just trying to get me going. Will always consult with him on every other car to land in my possession. Efficient and professional, you can't go wrong.

So I contacted Mr. Baker because I was having issues with my car. I told him what my car was doing, not only did he listen but he came to my house late in the evening after working ALL DAY LONG. Not only did Mr. Baker diagnose my issues but he explained everything in precise detail so i would understand completely! He even ordered the parts for me the next day , he also set aside time in his busy schedule to care for my cars issues. I would recommend his services to anyone that would listen! My truck stalled in the middle of the road at a stop light. I googled the closest mechanic in the area and the first one that came up with all good reviews was A1 auto surgeon. I decided to give it a shot and I’m so glad that I did. Mr. William attended to not only the vehicle but to me as well. He did not just go over the truck and tell me what the problem was. He took the time to explain everything and check everything thoroughly. There were no surprises no games know anything we got right to the issue. He spent over an hour with me got my truck running again not only that, but through the grace of God, he said to me and our company have a blessed day it will be no charge. Just for such a kind hearted gesture I was taken back so from now on whenever possible I will be calling him first thank you sir. Thank you for being who you are.

#1 Auto surgeon is accurate of a title. A friend of mine was in need after several local Fayetteville mechanics failed her . I took her to my guy and of course he made it do what it do… Always grateful for his expertise. I’d recommend him always. Videos of before and after are loaded

Mr Baker did my front brakes today. He doesn't skip any steps, and is very skilled. I watched everything he did (I have some experience working on cars) and the man is professional/knows what he's doing. You can trust him-- bring your car needs here, and tell all your friends about him.

Replaced my alternator twice by another shop and still was having issues with my battery light coming on. Mr Baker came to my house and diagnosed my issue within 5 mins. He determined that my battery terminals needed to be clean and the battery cables connectors needed to be replace. Highly recommend definitely will be using him in the future.

I called him, and he came right to my house to look at and diagnose what was wrong with my car. It was the alternator, and he was able to fix it the same day! I was 2.5 hours away from home when my car broke down. Had to have my car towed at 9pm and this was the only shop open in town per Google. Arrived at this repair shop with tow truck and William came outside not too happy that he didn’t speak to anyone beforehand. I explained that I did call beforehand and got no answer. Being that I lived out of town and could not afford $900+ to get the car towed home because my insurance company only covered 12 miles (which I did not realize). Needless to say I was having an extremely bad night. He immediately assisted tow truck driver being that my car would not go into neutral, it was a task getting it off the bed without damages to my vehicle. Yes! I WAS NERVOUS THE ENTIRE TIME. The car was released from truck without any damage to it but the tow truck damaged Mr. William’s yard. He was only concerned with my car and not his yard. I felt bad. Mr. Williams explained that he had another repair that he was working on that night but he would do a diagnostic for me to see what was going on. I think in all we were there for about 2 hours or so and he was very patient and professional the entire time. I had some family members with me and he welcomed them inside so that they may wait comfortably. Mr. Williams took his time with diagnostics and printed me a invoice of the codes found. Being that I explained to him that I had just had new parts installed 4 months ago for the exact codes given, he suggested that the other shop do the repair because it is probably still under warranty. Mr. William gave his time and recommendations all free of charge and also did not charge me a diagnostic fee. I cannot say enough that if you ever experience any mechanical issues with your vehicle , please don’t hesitate to give #1 Auto Surgeon a call. Mr. William I would like to say thank you again!

I spoke with Mr Baker about my brakes squealing and he told me to just bring it by so he could take a look. Stopped by in the morning and he had me ready to go a few hrs later after a quick trip to autozone! Labor prices are fair and he's very knowledgeable about vehicles. Highly recommend as I will be a repeat customer.

Stranded 100 miles away from home on a Saturday night with a flat tire when most repair shops were closed for the day, I had the fortune of learning about Mr. Baker at #1 Auto Surgeon via Avis Roadside Assistance. From the start, William was compassionate of the situation that I was in and, although he had no obligation to, he was willing to come to my rental car and offer his assistance. It is also worth mentioning that I was all the way across town from him so he definitely was willing to go out of his way. Before heading into my direction after learning about the situation that I was in, he shared that he wasn't a "tire professional" but he would pick up a tire plug kit along the way and come and see what he could do. Well, he may not want to be labeled a "tire professional" but to me, he was that night! The flat was due to a malfunction/poor installation of a previous plug that was installed by another well-respected tire shop that amazed us both of the poor installation of the plug. As he removed the old, bad plug and repaired the tire, his attention to detail and pride in his work were easy to notice and a pleasure to witness. He even shared details in the process of repairing the tire as he performed his magic. Every minute as he was repairing the tire, my confidence in knowing that he would have us on our way back home soon kept going up. In the end, he had the tire patched and steadily holding 41 psi that was ready for the road. On this newly patched tire, I headed back home and drove the 100 miles back to my destination without any further issues. While Mr. Baker successfully repaired my tire, being in his presence for those short, few minutes, proved to me that good, honest people do still exist. Wayne County is lucky to have a mechanic like #1 Auto Surgeon around. I would gladly take any of my cars for him to work on if I was local to the area and would recommend his services to anyone that I know local to the Goldsboro area.
