I don’t hand out five-star reviews lightly — but Excel Group absolutely earned it.
I came in with a stressful issue. My truck wouldn’t shut off. The key simply wasn’t doing its job, and I was bracing myself for a long, complicated diagnosis. Instead, Henry, the mechanic, stepped in and immediately pinpointed the problem. No guessing. No runaround. He identified that it was an electrical issue almost instantly, clearly explained what was happening, and laid out the best course of action.
What impressed me most was his confidence and precision. You can tell right away when someone truly understands their craft — and Henry does. He didn’t just fix the issue. He made sure I understood the root cause and what needed to be done moving forward. That kind of transparency builds real trust.
And then there’s Robbie

Just for others to know, it cost 1000 in labor plus parts to replace abs sensor and still you going to have abs issue. Everyone think twice before going to change abs sensor at this location.
We are a small NY co and we only come to these guys to fix the trks :) many years of great and friendly service and you know they will do it right... In trucking you know how electrical issues get ... Wrong codes in system something about def lines/pump/sensors on off... guessing game.. This time we came in derated to 55 and it needed a harness from the doser to the ecm... Doing that 2k repair vs 10k switching all the parts it was showing on and off ...Robbie walked us through the repair got us in quick and completed next day rush ... even helped with the bill as we had recent repairs that cost alot ... Absolute amazing team ...5 stars all the way !!!!!
( And drivers like to know ... In gate trailer drop... Big yard...Free paid by shop lift to/from hotel ... Nice clean waiting area... Every question you ask anyone in shop can explain the process so these guys work together well .. they answer their phones always and know how far all trucks are instantly)

Excel Truck Group in Statesville exceeded my expectations with their professional and efficient service. They diagnosed and fixed my truck the same day, all within just a few hours. Their pricing is reasonable, and the team is clearly dedicated to quality work. Highly recommended for anyone in need of quick and reliable truck repairs!
So far, so good. Derated and limped it back to Statesville Excel. They couldn't get it in Thursday afternoon, which would have told us what parts we needed to overnight so I could roll out on Friday, so that's disappointing. 6 pm the gate closes M-F. Gate was open before 7 am when they unlocked the door at the service desk. Trailer parking on site. Saturday only open 4 hours for minimal service and write-ups and closed Sundays.
The waiting area is above average, IMO. 2 vending machines, coffee, clean restroom, 5 electric recliners with USB ports, 2 small desk areas with power outlets to plug in laptops, a phone, and free Wi-Fi that works with the password posted on the wall under the flat screen TV set.
Decent sized lot, professional staff, and free shuttle in Statesville only is what I was told. Take the first exit east of I-77, and go south to the light, T/R, go past Love's about 1 mile and turn right at the red/white Excel sign.
Helped me by charging a couple of dead batteries when I was in a pinch. I was around the service desk and must say they are the most professional service center personnel that I've come across in quite a while I worked in GM dealerships as a career service technician so I have a little experience with service providers. He's guys were awesome did something they didn't have to have the kindness of their heart. Thank you and God bless you
We had a truck taken to this shop with NOx conversion code. They've supposedly spent great deal of time diagnosing the issue, fixed it, and sent the truck off. Later, it turned out that they've worked on the truck for 4.5 hrs, yet charged close to 8hrs in labor, and the same fault code came back less than 2 days later. We've ended up taking it to our trusted shop, and discovered that their entire diagnostics was incorrect, and the parts and the DEF leak, that was supposedly fixed, was still leaking just as bad (picture attached after so called repair).
I've reached out to their manager who refused to accept the liability, and only offered half the refund amount.
We've just submitted a charge back claim with CC company and are filing with BBB and other offices.
DO NOT trust these crooks with your equipment!!!
