Terrible, claiming they could not see my parking permit at Village at Cliffdale. My permit has been on the same side of car (driver side) since I moved here one year ago. And never had an issue all of a sudden today "they could not see my permit in the night time". Literal BS trying to make money because they ain't making none.

I parked at a private lot in Fayetteville for approximately 5 minutes to drop someone off and run inside briefly. When I came back out, my vehicle had already been booted by Twin State Towing & Recovery. The driver stated my car was “his now” and that I needed to pay a drop fee or he would tow it immediately. When I attempted to walk to the front of the property to verify the posted signage, he threatened to begin towing the vehicle if I did not pay right away. I ultimately paid $85 via Cash App to have the boot removed. The driver would only accept cash or Cash App and refused to provide a receipt or business card. No itemized invoice was given. The posted sign on the property primarily displayed a QR code to pay for parking, with “all violators will be towed” in small print. Given how quickly the boot was applied (the driver even commented that my car was still “hot to the touch”), this felt extremely aggressive and predatory rather than reasonable enforcement. I understand private lots have rules, but the intimidation tactics, limited payment options, and lack of receipt were concerning. Consumers should be aware of how quickly enforcement is applied and the payment practices used.

Excellent service in a timely manner, their operator knew how to get my oversized built truck onto his flatbed and off to the dealer for a service in no time, 👍🏾

Scammers in chief. Towed my car at an apartment complex with a car seat and Baby on board sign at 6pm knowing there is no sign that says no parking and charge $420 for impounding the car for less than 1 hour. Absolute evil 😈 Karma will get you.

I’m a resident of Morganton Apartment. Twinstate towing got into my car, stole my parking permit from my dashboard and then towed my car claiming I had no permit. I had to pay $345 to get my vehicle back. All I’ve got to say is people should be careful dealing with people like this.

The Preserve at Grand Oaks –Twin State Towing Tenant Warning If you are considering moving here, proceed with extreme caution. Many tenants—especially Soldiers and Veterans—have had serious problems with both The Preserve at Grand Oaks and Twin State Towing. Vehicles are being towed at a cost of $340 to get them back, for questionable circumstances. Twin State Towing refuses to provide before-towing photos and makes it very difficult to review their policies on release of photos. Twin State Towing employees Constantly patrol around the apartment complex looking for cars to tow, even if the vehicle has been parked for days without issue. Although this is advertised as a gated community, the gate has reportedly been broken for years. Maintenance issues take months to be addressed. Visitor parking is restricted, and guests are forced to pay $0.50 per hour to park, even though there is open space. There are also serious accessibility issues. Handicap parking is limited, poorly marked, and not located near building entrances, raising concerns about ADA compliance. Overall, this property feels more focused on towing and fees than on tenant safety, fair treatment, or basic upkeep. Many residents are frustrated and feel targeted. Please document everything if you live here.

I would like to say don’t give them your business they have plenty of business out here towing cars illegally. When I got the cars tags today, insurance today, I went straight to my leasing office to get a parking permit. The general manager of the apartment complex set up my parking permit and I placed it on the front window drivers side. I woke up this morning to my car being towed. I called the tow company and they pretty much said the parking permit that was on the car is not a correct parking permit. However earlier that day one of there guys came to try and tow the car with a rollback tow truck we told them the parking permit was on there, he gave us the thumbs up and drove off. So how was it legal at 2 something pm then but illegal at 2:30 AM in the morning when I have to go to work at 7AM.

They were very prompt. The lady I spoke to on the was very nice and was amazing!! The young man that towed our vehicle.. was very fast, got everything situated, told us what he thought was wrong!! Would definitely use them again! And wasn’t an outrageous price to tow our vehicle from Fayetteville to stedman!! Thank y’all so much!!

My friend visited for an hour within this time frame before I could submit the vehicle for visitors' parking. The car was towed as if they had waited for the residents to walk into their apartment to pull the car, which seems very illegal and blurs the line between legality. I'm not mad at the hussel. I'm just upset at the lack of respect, integrity and honor in the job. I couldn't do this job feeding my family with this kind of income good luck.

this place needs to be shut down! got my car towed and had to pay $400 to get it out, CASH ONLY and they DONT give receipts out. doesn’t that seem suspicious to you? it was driving really funny and then my whole rim and tire shot out and hit the city bus. when i called them the lady over the phone and rude and had a HORRIBLE ATTITUDE. worse customer service ever. the other day i was driving around fayetteville and saw a twin state truck, they were speeding and whipping around corners with a BMW. no care in the world. so many people get damaged cars in return. we work hard for our stuff just for people like them to mess our stuff up and scam us.

I requested a tow service with USAA and I was waiting for like an hour for one of your drivers to come and pick my truck up, using the tracker that USAA provides, I would notice the truck disappearing and reappearing further, honestly not surprised with the reviews, Thanks to Mitchells Towing for doing your job, useless company

Never used Twin State but I had to slam on my brakes on Bragg Blvd getting on 87 because one of their drivers cut me off from the center lane turning right on 87. I would have T-boned him I almost got rear-ended because I slammed on my brakes. I was also turning right but I was in the right lane with my blinker on. I wish I could give negative stars because I'd definitely give this company a negative 5 stars and definitely 2 thumbs down.

This company is an ABSOLUTE SCAM. Twinstate Towing is nothing but PREDATORY, ILLEGAL, and MONEY-HUNGRY. They towed my Cadillac right out of my own apartment complex when the car is REGISTERED WITH THE COMPLEX. I had just moved in, and the car got delivered while I was at work, so I didn’t even get the time or the chance to put the parking sticker on. Any decent or professional company would’ve given me that chance — but not these vultures. Instead, they swooped in, ILLEGALLY went through my car, and tried to squeeze money out of me like it was their full-time job. That’s not towing, that’s straight-up PREDATORY THEFT. Their employees are rude, unprofessional, and clearly trained to treat people like walking dollar signs instead of human beings. It’s obvious Twinstate Towing has no respect for residents, the law, or basic decency. They make their money by targeting people unfairly, bending the rules, and doing whatever shady practices they can get away with. If I could give them ZERO STARS, I WOULD. This company should be investigated for their shady and ILLEGAL practices. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from Twinstate Towing as possible.

Phone operator was rude and did not provide any information. Vehicle is registered with the property and was at work when it was DELIVERED to the apartment. Got towed while he was at work and is charging $425 to get it back. Scam company, and operates unlawfully and pretty sure illegally. Will be filing a complaint with the BBB about the unlawful practice of this company.

This company is operating unlawfully and should be avoided at all costs. My vehicle was towed by Twin State Towing and Recovery without notice, and when I contacted them to retrieve it, I was told that cash is the only accepted form of payment; no credit or debit cards allowed, and no ATM on site. This is not only outrageous but also a direct violation of Fayetteville municipal law (Chapter 16, Article X, Sec. 16-319(B)), which requires that towing companies accept credit cards. Refusing to do so is a misdemeanor offense. To make matters worse, the manager has been unreachable for weeks, and staff on-site repeatedly say they can’t help or provide any answers. The poor dispatcher clearly has no authority or support, and no one is taking responsibility for this company’s illegal practices. This experience caused a major and unnecessary delay in retrieving my vehicle, creating serious hardship during a time-sensitive move. I have filed an incident report with the North Carolina DMV License and Theft Bureau and will do the same with the North Carolina Department of Justice, and I urge others to do the same. No one should be subject to this kind of predatory, unlawful behavior. Apartment complexes who utilize this company should be ashamed. UPDATE: Twin State Towing has neglected to respond to the Better Business Bureau attempts to resolve this issue. It is clear that it is not a goal of TST to conduct good (or legal!) business. See photo.

I have never posted a Google review before but I hate this company so much, I can not stay silent. Twin State towing is a predatory company that is actively breaking the law. Fayetteville city laws require tow companies to accept debit or credit as payment methods and also prohibit charging fees to access property from your car. Both of these are being directly violated by twin state towing. Had an extremely negative experience with this company that involved clear violations of local and state law. Payment Violations: Required cash-only payment despite Fayetteville City Ordinance 16-319 requiring towing companies to accept cash, debit cards, and at least two major credit cards for non-consensual towing fees. Property Access Violations: Charged fees to access personal property from my vehicle, which directly violates Fayetteville’s ordinance requiring free access to personal belongings. Predatory Timing: Towed in the middle of the night, seemingly to avoid any possibility of vehicle owners returning to claim their cars and avoid towing fees. Questionable Locations: Even towing residents’ vehicles from their own apartment complex parking lots. These practices appear designed to maximize profit rather than manage legitimate parking issues. I have documented evidence of these violations and am pursuing complaints with appropriate authorities. Other drivers should be aware of their rights under Fayetteville Ordinance 16-319 and NC General Statute 20-219.2. This company’s business model seems to rely on exploiting people who don’t know the law.

I waited 2 weeks to post this review, hoping the company would look at the evidence and videos I have showing their tow truck busting my oil pan. I noticed it once we got home and black oil (diesel) was dripping all over their equipment. The driver said, it's been leaking hydraulic fluid lately. My guy, oil and hydraulic fluid are 2 different colors and you had NO hydraulic connections anywhere near where the oil piled on top of your tow arm. It's YOUR responsibility to say, the oil pan is too low, I can't do it, it'll damage your car. I called day 1 and was told to email the pictures and videos I took while the car was still hooked up to the tow truck, once he pulled out and it showed the oil and the oil flowing out of my car. I have gotten NO response at all from these lovely people. It started with a 6-10 inch puddle, then once the oil was completely drained from my engine, about 15 minutes later, I have a oil puddle in my driveway. So how does hydraulic fluid continue running from under my car after the truck left? I have the photos, videos, common sense to show your liability. I was told to call between 8 and 3. I called at 1 and was told the manager won't be there until tomorrow. I'm told this atleast 3 times, calling at various times. Told by the same dispatcher, no issues with her unless she knowingly lied. But I got the manager one day a week or more later and she said she can't do anything about it, it's their accident and loss dept. You are a tow company, you don't have all these fake departments. You're a mom and poop tow company. So the only way I'll be getting reimbursed for their driver flying down 95 while my car is bouncing it's oil pan against their tow arm. I have pictures of your driver in my oil pan. I'm not filling with my insurance company, I'll have to pay a $500 deductible and so your rates don't go up, I offered to send an estimate and you pay for the repair. No one can approve it, not even the owner. The magistrate judge will have the common sense to see this was a failure to use a rollback where my engine would not be affected. This car has sentimental value to me and an oil pan is under $100, on a lift, you're looking at an hour or two. Maybe an oil pump off it was damaged. I'm not asking for anything more than fixing your mistake and stop lying to me to avoid your responsibility. I will rate 5 stars and leave a better review if you take care of this. This happened 6/27/2025, it's sad no one has responded to emails, multiple, or phone calls where the only one available is dispatch and can't connect me with someone who can help. 5:00pm give or available. Check your email, my contact info is there. And being veteran owned, I had higher expectations. Integrity is a huge core of all branches.

Called to replace a flat tire on my truck. I do not have the jack for my truck at this time. They were unable to help. I find it very hard to believe that they have never been in a position where a car owner doesn’t have a tire jack. We sent them away and had to call another towing service.

Just like many others have reported in reviews on their own website, my vehicle was illegally towed by Twin State Towing under extremely questionable circumstances. I was parked in my own residential community and was towed for supposedly “double parking over a line.” First, this reasoning is absurd and clearly a manufactured excuse to justify predatory towing practices. I was not blocking traffic, parked in a fire lane, or obstructing anyone. This was my own community—where I live and pay rent. Their actions are not only unethical, they’re likely illegal. I’ve had enough of companies like this taking advantage of people, so today I filed a small claims lawsuit against Twin State Towing. I fully intend to get my money back—and then some. These kinds of towing companies count on people not fighting back. I’m here to say: I am fighting back. If you live in Fayetteville or anywhere near this company’s towing radius, be warned. They are aggressive, unprofessional, and operate on the edge of legality, if not outright over it. I encourage others who have had similar experiences to document everything and take legal action. This kind of conduct doesn’t stop until we hold them accountable.

This company illegally towed our unlocked vehicle and stole our parking sticker for our apartment. I literally have photographic evidence of it in our vehicle the day before when I took a pic of my kids in the back seat. When we went to retrieve the vehicle, they blocked the exit with a tow truck to prevent us from leaving. They’re thieves, liars and shady. The woman who answers the phone is unbelievably rude. Karma is coming for them.

My car was towed from a hotel I've been staying for 2 weeks due to domestic violence situation. Came out this morning to car gone. Leaving me and my kids stranded in a county I don't know anybody. My hotel tag was on dash instead of hanging on window. Piece of crap business cost me $345 I didn't have. Oh and receptionist threw my drivers license back to me. Very shady and very unprofessional.

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. My car was illegally towed at 2 AM despite having a valid residential parking sticker that I’ve had for a year. When I called to ask why, they lied and insisted there was no sticker. After supposedly “re-verifying,” they doubled down on their lie. However, when my leasing office called, they suddenly admitted the sticker was there all along but had no explanation for why my car was towed in the first place. Not only did they illegally tow my car, but they also tried to charge me an outrageous $420 fee to get it back before 8 AM, dropping to $320 after 8 AM. They refused to deliver it to me, even though the tow was completely unjustified. Only after my leasing office got involved did they finally admit their mistake and waived the fee, but insisted I still had to go out of my way to retrieve my car. They made a mistake, tried to cover it up, and only backtracked when caught. To make matters worse, when I called around 5 AM, the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. I finally got my car five hours after my initial inquiry. This company is shady, dishonest, and completely unprofessional. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away from them.

Pros-John is super nice and knowledgeable. Cons-lady in the office shouldn’t be in customer service. If you are stranded on the side of the road make sure your roadside assistance uses someone else. This company will give low ETA times so that your roadside assistance insurance company picks them. Guess what? They lie about the ETA time and leave you stranded for double the time that they tell your insurance in order to get the business instead of it going to other tow companies.

I work with the special needs population. A representative from this company took advantage of one of our participants. They towed his truck on New Years Eve from the BP near Festival Park. There was no problem with them towing the truck it was illegally parked. The problem was there was nothing( no sign), to let him know who/ where his truck was taken. He tried to inquire in the store and they pretended not to know the tow information. I informed the receptionist of this encounter, her response was, " I don't know why they wouldn't tell you, they know." I think there is some sort of conspiracy here. He was charged $420.00 (cash), $300.00 for the tow; $90.00 for the 2 day storage fees, and $75.00 for retrieving it after hours. These charges don't even add up. I think they just came up with them because I inquired. Most monetary dealings our participants have they use a debit card. To top it off they didn't give him a receipt. When I questioned them, they said, " did he ask?" We try to teach them to be independent and live independently and there are people/ companies who take advantage of their disabilities. This is appalling. I will be filing a grievance on his behalf with the city. We have to advocate for the less fortunate. Over charging people and attempting to take advantage of people is SHAMEFUL!!!!

this company does illegal stuff and doesn’t care. my car was towed from my apartment. the reason they gave “registration was out of date” they didn’t check the registration records they just saw that the sticker was for the past year. I provided proof that the registration was up to date and that the year sticker had been removed but no one cared. they also towed without notice. state law say that even if the tags were expired notice is still to be given to the owner. my apartment complex is also getting a scathing review as well. it is $300 in cash to get the car back. has to be in cash too. Would give 0 stars if allowed.

Wouldn’t even give one star. Driver popped my valve stem on my tire from the tow. I called him and he could’ve cared less. After having to fix my starter to asking for help and he only made another problem. $145 again after having to pay to get it towed to fix my tire now. Highly pissed will call office on monday

Had a very good experience with their service tech/driver, RYAN. I am particular about how my antique vehicle is towed and he assured me of the method he would use. Ryan was professional, friendly and open to discussing my preference & option of a flat-bed style of tow. Ryan worked carefully yet quickly, demonstrating a skilled experience. Thank You!
