Ok. Guy comes out every time to watch us and today got angry with my husband and accused us of ALWAYS throwing out hangers every time we come and he has to climb in and take them out, when it was our first time bringing hangers. We assumed we could recycle plastic hangers.... My husband apologized and told him we have never recycled hangers before and he ignored him and huffed away. Half the time, we can't recycle jars, the other half, we can. We're finding another recycle establishment bc our apartment doesn't offer recycling and he made us feel like children being scolded. Please be kinder to the community just wanting to do right and making 1 honest mistake.
Love Love Love the Cabarrus Recycling Center. Went for paint, which is free. Yes. Some cans are slightly used, half way used, or not even opened. You can go different days, except Saturday and Sunday of course, to see if any new paint has been dropped off. It's a great way to get a new color to paint some walls or create something color. Wasn't busy at all when we stopped by. Staff was great.
Need to work on your social skills. You would have thought I committed an unspeakable crime by the reception I received when I attempted to recycle some plastic bags.
The place serves to its purpose. The first time I went It was pretty intuitive for me that I should not get out of my car and wait for people. Anyway there is always someone there. The employees were always polite and to my surprise One of them that served me the second time I was there was specially quiet in order to not wake up my baby! Great place, great people.
My wife and I went to take various household items for recycling. No one was outside when we arrived. I was not familiar with the layout so I began to look around. We found where to put the motor oil and paper, but missed the cardboard dumpster. I saw a stack of cardboard and began stacking our cardboard on top. Then the recycling employee came out of the trailer and began to verbally abuse us. I let the first few comments go, but finally said "Look, we're not familiar with this place...we just need some help." At that point the belligerent employee became even more antagonistic. We didn't even finish unloading our items because this guy had some kind of loose screw. I asked him his name and he would not tell me. We called the administrative office and the person we spoke with knew exactly who we were complaining about. How does a rude notorious county employee even have that job. Needless to say we'll send our recycling to the landfill before we'll return to general services recycling (until we hear that "Mr. Manners" has been replaced).
