This store is very overpriced!!! Although I thrift for pleasure now, there was a time that it was my only option. I feel very sad for the young family's that need to rely on thrifting to clothe their family's and furnish their homes now.

Just like other supposed charity places they will accept from anyone but will only help those near by.... they set up in areas that they do not help..... soooooo..... if you are in need, but dont live near there center you not receive the same help you offer.

Me and my family have always loved shopping at the Salvation Army but about 3 days ago I visited the store and the prices are insane now. They asking $10-$15 for everything even Walmart brand shirts that you can buy new for that price or less. I understand needing to make a profit but this stuff is donated, no way should anything be priced above $5-$10 at a thrift store where all inventory was given to them for FREE.

As of September 2025 ( They took public restrooms) out of Salvation Army which stands for helping veterans. What if a veterans was in there and went to the bathroom in their pants because they couldn’t use your restroom in a building that you’re using to make money to help them. They fired pretty much the whole staff from what I understand and of course that staff was amazing were amazing!! and they kept the prices down, but that wasn’t good enough so they brought in all new managers and staff and they also price now at this Salvation Army in Arnold and their prices on clothing are ridiculous. Jackets $20 purses 25 jeans 9.99. It was never like that till they switched up new managers and started pricing things back and in store now. These are people that don’t know prices of things and I ask how do u get your prices they said we look it up on the Internet and I said for Goodness sakes this has been donated to you. It’s free and it’s supposed to help people I get it. You need to make money but at what expense if a hopeless person was to come in there with five bucks they couldn’t even buy a T-shirt because your T-shirts are like 9.97 and 14.99 for a sweatshirts. Someone in there told me that the reason they got rid of all the old workers was because they were not making enough money to keep the store opened well I told them good luck with this one too. You took the restrooms away from customers. You are the only thrift store I know that does not have restrooms. I say close it up the whole store.

Used to shop here for many years. Always loved their selection of clothes but most of all their very fair and reasonable prices. Now, it is very over priced. To the point it’s not even worth coming here anymore. Why pay this much for used clothing when I can go to Walmart or Kohls for something new for the same price if not cheaper. Very sad. People come here to save money not spend more. It just feels very greedy. St. Vincent DePaul is much more reasonable.

Let me understand something? You are given everything for free? Yes you have expenses, but being a not for profit! It seems profit is trying to be made! Trying to buy a candle warmer hang over type candle; they wanted 5.99 for it plugged it in bulb was out; asked manager if give me a break said we don’t do that here. I can buy same one at Walmart Walmart for 13.99 already know replacement bulb is 5.00 . Everything was expensive not happy. I can afford to shop where I want; though some people relying on trying to save money.

Envoy Jesse and Samantha lynx were so nice! David lakens and Rachel Sunderland are the best thing that ever happened to the store since they opened the Salvation Army in St Louis 120 years ago. You get the best deals in town by big thrifter! Doing the most good, I think they're doing that here in Arnold

I have been visiting the store for the past three years very consistently, the new manager Dan has made such an improvement. I had begun to think I would stop coming here because it was such a dirty mess, things stacked not compartmentalized. Then Dan came in and fixed everything, opened up space, made smarter use of the space. Got rid of all the old junkie stock that wasn’t selling, picture frames, and stuffed animals. Things are clean, organized, aisles are easier to shop. It’s just a pleasure to be in the store now.

What is going on with that place? The store is so unorganized. And their prices especially on clothes are outrageous. Just a couple of months ago I bought swimming suit tops for $3.99 each not on sale. I was there yesterday and swim suit tops are $10.99 or $12.99 each. That is a huge increase. I saw a Cardinals baby onsie there for $6.99. It was not brand new. I went to Goodwill and bought one that was also not brand new but was only $1.88. I guess they think they are the Saks Fifth Avenue of thrift stores. Even when their clothing is half off they are still way higher than Goodwill. The store clothing used to be organized by sizes, seasons and colors. Not no more. Everything is just thrown together. I never even look at clothes there anymore it's just too overwhelming to sort through racks and racks of clothing. I know the new manager probably inherited a mess but that is still no excuse for the extremely high prices.

I stop shopping at the goodwill because their prices. Going to be the same with the salvation army. I can go to Saint Vincent de paul and get womens clothes $4.00 and under same with kids clothes. I also stop donation to places with theses crazy prices as well. Also poor character when your in their store and say something about the prices and the manager comes out and tells you to go to them and shop. K why im walking out your store with nothing and spent no money ?

I have thrifted here for years and I have never been compelled to make a review until today. It's undeniable they have a pricing issue. However the clothes that they put out today, were a new level of BAD. (Picture attached) $15 for this body central tube top was... This brand was fast fashion, it probably retailed for that price if not less. It's not super valuable or sought after. I shouldn't have, but I still purchased this item because I really liked it. In exchange, I had to put a few other items back to afford it. I expect more from Salvation, a christian based organization. Sure items are priced higher to benefit their beneficiaries, but you still need to consider the people who shop here and would like to find nice things they wouldn't be able to regularly afford. A balance must be found, because these new prices (if consistent) are only going to drive the store even more downhill than it already is.

This store had went down hill fast. Used to be clean. Organized Now, it's just so junky and everything is piled together Prices are disgustingly high ...

Have always loved the Salvation Army, but this store was a disaster! Not organized and not clean. Very sad and clearly a failure of leadership here!

I love Salvation Army, I wish the prices were cheaper but it’s worlds better than goodwill in that way anyway. The workers are kind and patient and helpful, and the selection is always great. I’ve found some real gems here, and everything from the accessories to the knick knacks is stocked to the heavens!

I found some treasures at this Salvation Army but the prices are higher than other locations I've been to. Also the clothes are not organized by size, so it took a long time to go through everything.

Was there yesterday. Omg the prices are RIDICULOUS. Shelves are full, because things are way over priced. I picked up a used 5x7 picture frame. Was 5.00 and change. Almost 6.00 bucks. Can get new for 3.00 at Walmart. Unbelievable. Store is a dirty mess.

2/5/25 Nope, keep driving!! It's not worth the stop. Their prices will make you want to buy brand new!! Your better off at Goodwill on Richardson Roador The Treasure Shoppe on Key West Drive in Arnold. Don't waste your time!

I come here frequently and left here today empty handed, disappointed, and frustrated with their prices. Idk what they’re smoking but $16 for used t-shirts and shoes is ridiculous. Overheard multiple other people complaining about prices too. Not to mention the major abundance of overstock they had out on rolling racks on the floor. Perhaps if things were more reasonably priced they could get rid of it. I used to love it here and have previously had better experiences and luck, but whoever is pricing the items recently needs to come back to reality because this ain’t it. You’re not gonna sell anything trying to upsell everything. Maybe they’ll have to learn the hard way.

Love this store. Michelle and Meagan are always so friendly. The past couple of years the store has really cleaned up and is more organized. Still think prices are a little high on some things, but I usually find something I can't live without. ?

The Arnold store has gone downhill since Michelle hasn’t been there, she always kept the store in order and looking so nice and she’s so nice and funny to talk too. I miss seeing her when I go in the store and the guys aren’t fun to talk to or as friendly as Michelle was. They even have been putting wholly clothes out and think someone is going to buy something with a whole in it. They need to get Michelle back. Look at the clothes they sell now since Michelle has been gone.

Saw an old lady fall in the parking lot, a FedEx lady had to help her up off the 100°+ pavement because the salvation army employees left her there in the sun and didn't help and told others not to help because they didn't want a liability lawsuit. Are you kidding? Never shopping here. Obviously Christians aren't into helping the people in need.

Love this place. Heard they were discontinuing furniture. We feel that would be a big mistake. In this economy a lot of people can't afford prices of new furniture. Our combined families have. Bought 12 to 15 pieces from there in the last 2 years. We tell all our friends. Goodwill doesn't touch the selection Salvation Army has.

Management loves taking advantage of poor, unknowing, and old people by pricing things twenty to fifty times higher than the items actual value online. Heres a tip, stop trying to search up how much things are worth online and just price them it a base price. Not only did a worker waste time looking up these Barbara Streisand records, but someone will be getting scammed if they are brought. Really freaking sad.

Agree with others that clothes are over priced. Some great deals but several times now I’ve checked out to be told that an items is marked wrong and it’s more and they do not honor the price. For example there were 2 baskets I wanted and they were both marked $2.99 but at check out the lady said they should be $6.99! Obviously I didn’t buy them at that difference.

They have plenty of bargains, it’s very organized and clean. Good location, good access and parking.

I had never visited a Salvation Army store and I was very impressed. All of the furniture was very clean. You can tell that the steam clean it because everything was free of stains and pet hair. It had a much larger section of housewares than most G**dwill stores that we visit. Children clothing section was the only section that was very small.

The store is super large & they always have a large display of furniture for sale. They have clothing for everyone in the family, shoes also. They have a large quantity of small appliances some are BRAND new still in the box. Whenever I'm around this area I always stop by. And as I plus they are remodeling the inside to make more room for more merchandise.
