I hiked Iron Mountain on 2/19/2023 I was expecting to be hard, but not as hard as it actually is. Definitely not a hike for beginners. I would recommend to bring water depending on how much you drink. I brought 2 liters and one Gatorade, adding snacks specially energy bars. I was ok with what I brought. Again, depends how conditioned you are. The views are amazing and the expecting unforgettable, but don't do it if you're not prepared physically and mentally because is very very hard. Also make sure to start early because it can turn in a long day

Not for beginners. Very, very challenging in summer months (no water). In winter months, you'll need crampons due to extreme grades with snow/ice. I did it just before Xmas without cramps......but it was dicey.

This is a great hike, I would recommend to any hiker that likes challenge I would as well if you are an experienced hiker, I would recommend to beginners up to Heaton flats, not farther than that, bring at least 4 litters of water and leave one or two around Heaton flats, snacks, hiking poles, and leather gloves, poles will help on the way up and mainly on the way down and the gloves your hands, the dirt is very loose and slippery, and do not forget to enjoy the great view of the mountains around.

Not my favorite hike. There’s restrooms n parking at the trailhead. But it always feels like some homeless encampment. Trash everywhere. The hike itself is tough but not too many hike here so spider webs build and gets all on you as you hike. But the view is amazing

Una montaña muy difícil y de mucho gasto físico por sus colinas empinadas y la altura.

This is the toughest day single peak hike in the entire of San Gabriel Mountain range. 14.2 miles round-trip with early 6500 feet's elevation gain, very little shades and relentless deep climb, also it's difficult to walk down due to the deep and rocky loose hill. We did this hike yesterday and it's very tirery. I recommend that you start early and bring at least 3 litter of water even in cool weather conditions.

Great mountain peak for strength training. I started at 7:am and up to the peak around 11:am, down to trail head at 3:pm. Very good for a whole day hiking. Avoid hot weather and bring a lot of water, over 4 liter

This is an extremely rugged hike. It can be psychologically and physically draining. Very exposed, bring a hat and extra water. You will be scrambling your way to the top. Decent views, but definitely more of a masochistic endeavor than all other surrounding peaks.

This Mountain lives up to its hype, no doubt. The hike to get to the start of this mountain alone is challenging. Add the actual scramble up to the summit and you have yourself one hell of an out and back hike.
