The mojave was alright! Its a weird and wonderful place, its a little too hot for my liking, but thats cus im a redhead, theres a lot of hostile people, and i couldnt visit nipton to see my uncle's grandma's great aunt, a bunch of roman cosplayers there. The strip is absolutely stunning!

Beautiful region of California and Nevada. The Mojave is characterized by its unique flora like Joshua trees and the fact that it's the hottest place on Earth. It's home to the iconic Death Valley National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, and the Mojave National Preserve as well as unique towns like Baker, Laughlin, and Nipton. It's truly one of the most beautiful places in America.

Lots of sand. I highly recommend this place if you want a desert. Don't go there if you want dessert

Definitely a desert. Lake Mohave was 80° on the surface beginning of October. Made for horrible striped bass fishing.

Wonderful location in post-apocalyptic America! I do have to say, the sights are something else entirely, the bright lights of New-Vegas surely are different from Shady Sands. I must admit, while the local wildlife and raiders do make it a bit of a hassle, the local population was kind enough to help me! However, I do have something wrong the this particular raider group calling themselves Caeser's Legion, I dont actaully know if it's "Kaiser's" Legion, but oh well, The perfect NCR Rangers have been keeping them at bay! Though i have seen another group called the Brother Hood Of Steel near Hidden Valley, they seem friendly enough, except when they held me at gunpoint for my camera that one time. Other then that, I managed to take some perfect photos of the local sights!

Beautiful sunsets and amazing desert full of wildlife. We saw a snake, roadrunners, hares and a gambel’s quail, but no turtles like the signs said. Be aware if trying to camp here, some of the camps require a lot of off-roading. Took us an hour of driving on a horribly bumpy dirt road to get to the horse thief camp from the side leaving Vegas. Surprised we didn’t lose any tires. Great stargazing from the camp.

Paws down this Desert is the ultimate puppo experience. A giant sandy sniffing ground of wonder . No city lights or noises just miles and miles of open space and tail wagging. The ultimate backyard paw stomling and zoomies free running . It smelled wild and free

The Mojave Desert is a striking and unique landscape that showcases the raw beauty of the California desert. With its vast expanses of arid terrain, stunning rock formations, and iconic Joshua trees, the Mojave is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone looking to experience the stark yet mesmerizing beauty of a desert environment. However, it's essential to plan your visit carefully, especially during the summer months. When we visited in July, the temperatures soared to a blistering 118 degrees Fahrenheit. While the desert's beauty is undeniable, such extreme heat can make outdoor activities challenging, if not hazardous. The intense sun and high temperatures can lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, and other heat-related issues, so we cannot recommend visiting at this time of year. If you do find yourself in the Mojave Desert during the summer, it’s crucial to take precautions. Bring plenty of water, wear appropriate clothing, and take frequent breaks in shaded areas. Early morning or late afternoon are the best times to explore, as the sun is less intense, and the temperatures are slightly more bearable. However, even during these cooler hours, be prepared for the possibility of soaring temperatures. Despite the heat, the Mojave Desert has much to offer. The desert's surreal landscapes, including the otherworldly rock formations of Joshua Tree National Park and the expansive vistas of the Mojave National Preserve, are breathtaking. Wildlife enthusiasts can also spot various species, like bighorn sheep and unique desert birds, adding to the allure of the area. In addition to its natural beauty, the Mojave Desert is rich in history and culture. Exploring the remnants of old mining towns and historic Route 66 offers a fascinating glimpse into the past and the stories of those who once thrived in this harsh environment. In conclusion, while the Mojave Desert is a remarkable destination that offers stunning landscapes and unique experiences, we strongly advise against visiting in July when temperatures can reach dangerous levels. If you're planning a trip, consider visiting in the cooler months—spring and fall are ideal times to explore this incredible desert while enjoying comfortable temperatures and a more enjoyable experience overall.

Driving through Mojave offers a captivating journey through the picturesque Mojave Desert, renowned for its stunning landscapes and unique attractions. The experience can vary in length depending on how many of these attractions you choose to explore, but a full day is recommended to fully appreciate the area's beauty. Start your adventure by exploring the majestic Joshua Tree National Park, which is known for its iconic Joshua trees, striking rock formations, and a diverse array of plant and animal life. Hiking trails and scenic viewpoints are abundant throughout the park, providing countless opportunities for exploration. A full day spent at Joshua Tree National Park is an excellent way to immerse yourself in the desert's natural wonders. After your time in Joshua Tree, you can continue your journey through the Mojave Desert, taking in the vast open spaces, unique desert flora, and perhaps spotting wildlife like jackrabbits and roadrunners. Be sure to bring a cooler filled with refreshments to stay hydrated and comfortable during your drive. The Mojave Desert's beauty truly shines as the sun sets, so consider staying into the evening to witness the desert's transformation under the warm, golden hues of the setting sun and the emergence of a star-studded night sky. Camping is an option if you wish to extend your stay and fully embrace the serene desert atmosphere. In conclusion, to make the most of your visit to the Mojave Desert, plan for a day trip that includes exploring Joshua Tree National Park and savoring the desert's beauty along your scenic drive. This experience will leave you with lasting memories of the remarkable Mojave landscape.

We only had a few hours in the desert - could easily have spent days here. Such a beautiful scenery with nothing but desert for tens if not hundreds of miles. So many different types of cactusses, and I was stunned by the joshua trees - never seen anything like it. Please remember sun screen if you leave your car. I was there in April - I can only imagine how it would be in August!

?️? Lesson learned the hard way! Went for a recovery run in the Mojave Desert in Las Vegas with temperatures hitting 40 degrees. My body soon regretted it as it felt like my blood was turning to soup! ??♂️ Note to self: stick to cooler environments for recovery runs. Stay safe and listen to your body!

Honestly, there is a different way the dry heat hits compared to the hot humidity of the southern U.S. In my opinion, this west coast desert is as gorgeous as it is deadly.

Cool desert. Hottest place on earth actually. Would try to find the kelso dunes.

It is amazing to see the vastness of the famous Mojave Desert. Civilization is still alive out here with small towns or scattered old trailer homes. There are lots of mountain ranges in the background that make the desert a unique view. There are many different kinds of desert plants that also add to the Mojave Desert. It is a place to see.

Beautiful desert, too bad I went on a very windy day. It may look like there’s not a lot to see but snakes are easy to spot out sunning themselves. Definitely a place I recommend people to visit.

My first night of my Easter weekend trip . Leaving the Bay Area , we found a dispersed campsite on the Mojave Desert . It was extremely windy . I mean windy !! But the experience and serenity of it all was one for the books . Explore this great state , one exciting mile after mile . Make a bucket list of places to see and start making memories . Hope i see you out there . Say hello to me or Bella ???⛺️⛰????

Amazing views and not a lot of people. A great place for a drive when traveling from Vegas to LA...

I’m loving the Mojave. A major influencer on the weather in so cal is the San Andreas fault line. Joshua Tree National Park is particularly original as it contains both a Colorado desert and Mojave in its own area.

Very Beautiful vast desert where you can get some of the best clear views of the night skies. Also being out there in the warmer season’s be sure to watch your steps so you don’t step on a rattlesnake it’s definitely full of them. A great place to go off-roading and camping.

There are so many joshua trees, which look unique like alien shaped structures against the stunningly gorgeous sky at dusk. Vast dry land but interesting nonetheless. We encountered many dessert animals, and saw a myriad of stars in the dark sky at night.

We were driving through the Mojave Desert at California City, California and boy was it hot and dry. Being from Florida we are used to heat and humidity, but it never gets this hot! And when it’s hot we get rain most days. I did love the Joshua Trees!

Heat, & vast, beautiful landscapes. I don't really need much more to feel happy.

Had a great time with the kids here. There are abundant places to visit and explore. With the jack rabbits and lizards running around my girls were occupied with trying to catch them. The trails were easy to navigate and fun to walk

Sometimes when I am not in rush and I go to the Joshua Tree National Park from Las Vegas I choose the route across the Mojave Desert. This route is a bit abandoned but no worry it just take 15-20 minutes to meet another car who uses this route too. You will be able to take photos of animals, Joshua Trees, sand dunes, and granite rocks as well.

Driving through the desert is surreal. The vast landscape changes often and leaves you in awe. Wish I could’ve seen it at night!

Love the Mojave! Open spacious and no one around. Have primitive camped here several times and it’s a great place to wander among the Joshua trees and watch the wildlife without the crowds that you find in a lot of other places.

Good place to camp, to go hiking, to enjoy the view! The Rings trail loop definitely deserves to be done. It is a short hike but you can experience a lot. Don’t forget to take water with you!
