Market Street in
McAllen (TX)

This is our regular grocery store. On Saturday, January 17, we tried to do our regular shopping at around 11:50a. The parking lot was completely full, from Market Street to the Michael’s. Myself and other grocery customers were driving around all rows in the parking lot passing each other multiple times looking for parking. I thought the market was full, but then I saw a lot of folks walking over from the convention center who had occupied the market’s parking lot. People from the convention center had packed the parking lot, not leaving any spaces for actual customers. My wife and I finally gave up after 10 minutes of meandering around other customers’ cars trying to find and pounce on a spot. This also caused aggressive parking lot behavior where customers were jostling and rushing up and down the parking lot aisles on the off chance someone backed out of a spot. Market Street, or the Watter’s Creek management should do some type of parking management for conventioners. Not sure if there is insufficient parking at the convention center or if convention attendees are trying to avoid a parking fee, but this was a huge inconvenience for regular market customers.

Exceptional Store — A True Standout Market Street at Watters Creek is a stellar grocery store and easily one of the best in the area. The store is consistently clean, well organized, and thoughtfully laid out, making even larger shopping trips feel easy and efficient. What truly sets this location apart is the service. Staff members are attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful without being intrusive. From the butcher and seafood counters to the bakery and prepared foods, there’s a noticeable level of care and professionalism throughout the store. It feels well run and well staffed. Product quality is excellent across departments—fresh produce, a strong meat and seafood selection, great prepared foods, and a solid wine and specialty grocery assortment. Everything feels curated rather than generic. This Market Street goes beyond being just a grocery store—it’s a consistently high-quality shopping experience. Absolutely a go-to and well deserving of five stars.

Mom and I go there every Sunday morning. The check out ladies are very nice.

Hosts Green Chile roasting annually, stocks fresh produce, great variey of cheese, fresh fish, also carries a variety of fresh and precooked meal options.

This is a fabulous grocery store with an amazing selection of food. I went on a day they had samples and I was so impressed with not only the quality of food, but also the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. I will definitely check it out more often. I highly recommend to anyone who values a positive shopping experience ☺️

I’m a regular customer at Market Street and usually make my Western Union money pickups once or twice a month after finishing my shopping. The staff has always been friendly and helpful — especially people like Alicia, who go out of their way to assist customers. Unfortunately, every time I’m assisted by Terry, the experience is completely different. Even though I always follow the store’s own instructions — calling one or two days ahead to notify about my pickup — Terry consistently finds reasons not to help or to make the process more difficult. This time, after splitting my withdrawal into two parts specifically to avoid affecting the store’s cash balance, he still refused to help, giving explanations no one else in the team has ever mentioned. It’s disappointing because I truly like Market Street and appreciate the atmosphere and service from most of the staff. But this type of attitude discourages loyal customers from returning. I hope management reviews this situation to ensure a more consistent and customer-focused experience

This store is very quick and easy to make purchases. The staff is phenomenal. Aaron was absolutely amazing in helping me pick out some Christmas stuff and birthday. Thank you Apple for hiring such educated incredible employees willing to educate us as customers and help us make the right decisions so we don’t have to do returns thank you Apple. I’ll always take a bite

I shop at Market St on Bethany quite a bit. Besides the normal groceries I especially like their fresh ground hamburger. Well I go there at 3:40pm on October 30 and notice they have no fresh ground beef on display. So I asked the meat man if he had some fresh ground beef coming out and he says. Sorry we sold what we ground for the day. Are you kidding? It was 3:40pm not 9:30pm. You still have rush hour around 5pm when most people are heading home from work. What about them? Most stores do not stop putting out product when it is the middle of the day. Management should look into this. My question is: It it store policy or just laziness?

I needed a small bridal bouquet for my wedding and the floral department knocked it out of the park. This turned out exactly the way I wanted and the price was so reasonable. I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you so much for helping me have such a beautiful day. ❤️

Very clean store. Maybe one of the best stores I’ve ever been to as far as cleanliness but the deli could use some improvement. I went in for breakfast twice now. Each time I got a breakfast plate. The first time I got cheesy potatoes as my side. This time I got regular potatoes as my side. Both potatoes at this store are cheeks🤢. I got the biscuits and gravy as well and it seems like the gravy has a hint of sweetness which is totally un-called for in my opinion unless you like sweet gravy.

I come to this Starbucks on Market Street pretty often, and most of the team here is great — always friendly and polite. But I’ve noticed several times that the manager (I believe her name is Loary) never smiles or responds when I say hello. It’s happened on multiple visits, and it honestly feels like I’m bothering her just by ordering my drink. It gives off a cold vibe, especially early in the morning when a friendly attitude can really set the tone for the day. Everyone else on the team is wonderful, but I hope store management looks into this so the customer experience is as warm and welcoming as other Starbucks locations.

What happened to this place? Use to love coming here but many of the items I purchased are no longer sold. More importantly, their produce is all old! Every time I've been here the last 2 months you have to dig for anything with more than same or 1 day left before expiration. I guess it's to Kroger we go... Sigh.

I went to this store a couple of times for a shopper app. I had trouble finding items & asked a female, Trey for help, to no avail. I went to the deli meat area the app told me some of the items could be found. I was waiting for help & a Caucasian male came up & immediately got help. While the staff went to do something for him, he said to me, 'I'm sorry'. I said, 'no you're not'. He said, 'No, you don't think I am?' I said, 'No, because you continued to talk to him'. He said, 'I really am sorry'. I kept asking for help from various staff & kept getting bad information or no information at all. Eventually, I was able to finish my order with help from Bobby, after requesting a couple of times. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I love the food court area. I come here for lunch very often. In recent years it has gone down hill. Hiring incapable personnel and it shows - probably in sales also. Pictures speak volumes on a very slow day.

Seriously, Market Street Bakery knocked it out of the park! I got my baby's first birthday cake from them, and wow, just wow. They were super on top of things, like, checking in to make sure they got everything right. That's awesome. The cake? Picture perfect! I wanted a pink barn theme, and they nailed it. The pink buttercream was spot-on, and it looked amazing with my toppers. But the best part? It tasted incredible! Like, melt-in-your-mouth fresh and delicious. Everyone loved it. Honestly, the whole team was great. Super friendly and you could tell they cared about getting it right. I'm definitely a customer for life now. Thanks so much for making my little one's birthday extra special!

Absolutely love Market Street in Allen, Texas. You definitely have to experience Market Street. The grocery store has all you need and more, all in one place. And when you're there and you're in the bakery section... be sure to try and get the German Chocolate Brownie. It's delicious. And be sure to check out the fresh cooked food and more. You'll love going to Market Street. Everyone, all the staffers are really nice, friendly, and helpful. I recommend Market Street for all your grocery shopping needs.

Mold!!!! Really disappointed with Market Street. Usually their products are pretty good. I bought a cake slice to enjoy for dessert that evening. I got home, put it in the fridge, and a few hours later decided to enjoy my little dessert. When I opened it, I thought the frosting looked a bit weird. Upon closer inspection I realized it was mold. Disgusting. I went back to Market Street that evening and told the manager they should probably pull the cake slices before someone gets sick. She offered an exchange but why would I have any faith that the other slices aren’t tainted? Really more of an annoyance that I had to drive back for a $2.50 refund. Please do better!

Love this store. Customer service is excellent also. Just to give you an example, I strolled into Market Street at 9:40p for sandwich meat and as I approached the counter, Aaron was cleaning his last machine….i asked him if they were still open back there even though I knew they had closed but was hopeful for some good customer service…and that’s what I got. He said, yes, I was shutting down BUT I’m happy to get you what you need! 🤩🤩. So he got a machine he had just finished cleaning dirty again but he smiled and didn’t think twice! Thank you Aaron, much appreciated. 🙌

Ms. D makes the best sandwiches! If your taste buds had a voice they'd be screaming "Italian Stallion!" Man this is fire!

This is definitely my favorite grocery store to shop at. Customer service is impeccable. Everyone is very knowledgeable and they have great deals weekly. Their meat department and seafood department is great better than any other grocery store around. They are very customer service, focused, and have multiple lanes open all the time and they even bring your groceries to the car which is a great help . Their meat specials weekly are off the chain !

Very nice store. The seafood department has an excellent selection of items. All the fish looked very fresh. The seafood person was very courteous and friendly. Great variety of BBQ sauces as well as rubs and seasonings. Many of the sauces and seasonings are produced locally. Nice Asian food section. Plenty of parking and easy to find.

I never had seen a food market so complete like this one. A superb wine cellar with great options, nothing below $10. The picture shows the sushiman work great

I love love love this place. Lots of fresh produce, ready-to-eat hot meals & salads, prepared meals and great selection of meat and seafood, prices aren’t too bad. I just moved here from New Jersey and I am shocked how cheap the items are here compared to the northeast states, not to say at premium quality. It kinda reminds me of Wegmens we have, but at a lot better price. I will definitely shop here a lot!!! The only complaint I have is the bathroom is not easy to find and it’s messy. I will empty my bladder at home before I shop.

Very clean and and quite a diverse collection of items for a grocery store. Market Street has some unique finds for both drink and food. I like the way they have their store setup which makes it easy to locate food, vegatables, medicines, wines and gifts. I really liked the variety of soaps they carried near the pharmacy. This store has an upscale feel to it... yet not too costly.

I just recently started shopping at Market Street. In particular, the location in Allen Texas. Each time I go, its always a pleasant experience. Unlike some of the Grocery Stores, Market Street seem to go out of there way to make the customer feel special. Almost like your in a small town, and it's the only grocery store in town. Some what like the old TV show The Andy Griffin Show. Lol. Anyways, the store is always clean, there are tons of choices, and the employees are willing to help with a smile.

This store is little further away from my house, but i still come here once in awhile because it's bigger and better. I like the atmosphere in the store. They do carry a large selection of baked goods, fresh produce and yogurts... I love yogurt! Check out those individual yogurt bars. They have a hot food bar, starbucks coffee, a salad bar, and freshly baked bread, also sushi. I know it will sound weird but that's the first Market Street store that has hot water in the restroom which is great if you have a baby who needs a diaper change. All mamas out there you know what i mean...

Market Street is the perfect grocery store. This one feels cozier and I like that it's close to other types of shops. Good salad bar, prepared meals and hot foods. Nice wine selection and meat department.
