Do yourself a favor. Go elsewhere. Takes months fo get any work done. They never answer phone. If you leave a message they never call back. They don’t even know what you brought in or whose parts are who’s. Nothing is labeled . I have no doubt there work may be ok but there are other /better shops around. The guys are nice but give the worst customer service I have ever witnessed.
While somewhat difficult to get a hold of to begin service, after they contacted me back it’s been a fast and affordable service. I can’t thank them enough!
This machine shop is run by a pair of great guys. It's better to drop by and chat with them in person, as they're usually too busy working to pick up the phone. Despite wishing they'd answer calls, I'm really glad I went in to talk. They're super friendly! I discussed my block and crank issues, gave them my budget and timeline, and they outdid themselves to meet my needs. Their pricing is very fair and they finished my parts much quicker than anticipated. I can't recommend this machine shop enough to everyone!
2.4 Ecotec head sent in for a valve job ,320$ and the head was already disassembled. Didn't get a courtesy call saying it was done, and then when I went to pick it up he couldn't find it..
Had a 07 dodge 4.7 rebuild took them longer than quoted! Charged me 500 more than was quoted! Got motor in truck 4 plugs closed shut, could not figure out what was wrong changed computer, coils tps,injectors,finally pulled plugs to do a compression test found the brand new plugs closed shut. Put new plugs in it it still ran with a miss changed catalytic converter. Only got 40 miles on it and it burns 1 1/2 quarts of oil in 10 miles. Rear seal leaking front seal leaking. What goes around comes around. Damian
The quoted timeline was way off. I was told 2-3 weeks, but it was more like 6 months. They cleaned and honed the block I had but painted it blue instead of black. They will do if you don't want to drive a long way, but they don't communicate well.
The people are nice but I am having issues getting intouch with them they have one motor of mine I have been trying to check on an no answer. I had another motor get sent in for warranty work on a mistake that was made. They fixed it but I received a hefty bill from Kurtis Chevrolet. That I have been trying to resolve and got no answer.i have left messages called every week and no answer. Not saying they are bad but I have never had to go through this with other machine shops.
Hello everyone. My name is Arthur and I own Stardust Automotive Inc in Jacksonville, NC. I want to praise this company on their professionalism and friendly customer service. We had a customer we were doing a monster high horsepower build on and ran into a complication I could not figure out. They were kind enough to find us the help we needed to get the information we needed to finish the job up. When speaking with him, I did not feel rushed and he made me feel I was important. He listened and even went out of his way to find some phone numbers for me. I can tell you…I’ve been in business for 15 years and it’s rare to have another shop help another shop out. I always try and pay things forward and this time I will pay it forward twice.
These guys went above and beyond. I'm glad I chose them for the cylinder head job on my 4.0l. A week turn around and very cooperative. They did a fantastic job. Even on a 0331 head which aren't the best and known for cracking. These guys know what they are doing and I would recommend anyone who needs motor work to go to them.
Dropped off my cylinder heads for my LS swap. They were extremely dirty. Picked them up and they look BRAND NEW! New valves, springs and seals. Will be using their services again.
Brought them a short block and heads that had been sitting at another machine shop for over 6 months, in 2 months, during a pandemic, they honed my block, machined my caps, put together my short block, painted the block, deburred everything and checked tolerances on the cams, springs, and shortblock. I did not ask for the paint and deburr, that was purely them going above and beyond, these guys know what they're talking about and very punctual. And also during a pandemic I might add. Will definitely be bringing all my stuff to them from now on.
