This afternoon I needed to track down a wheel lock socket for a used Jeep I purchased. Originally, I had checked with the local Mavis tire shop by making a phone call to them a few weeks back. The young lady I spoke to then said they had several wheel lock keys from customers that left them behind and that I was welcome to see if one would fit mine, so I would know what to order. I'd had an accident and wasn't able to go see them at that time. So today, I went by there and was told they only had a master set that wouldn't work for my locks. Eddie directed me to AutoZone. I went to AutoZone and spoke with Joe. Joe looked at the sets he had in the store, and we determined the locks would not work on the locks I had. I went back outside and sat in my Jeep looking to make phone calls to other tire shops for assistance. Shortly after a young lady (employee) came outside and grabbed my attention to let me know Joe had located a universal socket that might work for my situation. We tried it and it did not. I explained to Joe that I'd seen some sockets to remove stripped wheel bolts, but reviews for that style were not good. Joe said he believed they carried a different style of socket for removing stripped wheel lug nuts that we could try. We got one, tried it and it worked! I ended up buying it, a breaker bar, and whole new set of security style wheel lug nuts to alleviate the problem. Another good thing about this is it would be easy to get a replacement key socket from this store if I want a spare or lose mine. I want to say I was impressed by Joe's willingness to help and his more than thorough problem-solving abilities to get this job done. I've been working with automobiles for close to 40 years and I've had some experience working behind the parts counter myself. Some of the new (young) crowd would have been too quick to say, "Sorry I can't help you" and send you right out the door without offering at least point you to someone else who might have been able to help. In the past, I've sent business to another place just to help the customer out when I knew we couldn't and in return, those business would do the same for me. Joe is the right kind of employee to represent AutoZone. Friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and willing to take a few extra moments to help someone out. If a chance comes around to give a merit bonus or raise for employee's, AutoZone would do well in passing it on to Joe. Thank you and have a Blessed Day, G. M. New Bern, NC

Highly disappointed. Have been coming to this store for years. Had a battery problem staff was less than helpful. Will not be going back.

I’ve come to this store several times in the last couple months. The staff here is super friendly and super helpful and even made suggestions on things I would have forgotten about and had to return to the store. If I had a store closer I would still travel to this location just to ensure I wouldn’t be forgetting anything because the staff really cares and looks out for you.

The staff here are amazing. Whether I call or go directly to the store to see if they have a product I'm looking for they are very helpful. There's been a time or two I had to order parts and within a few days they were in and I received a call to pick them up. I recommend them to my family and friends all the time.

Manager took the time and personally ensured that I got the correct R134 coolant and hose to service my truck. Store was clean and organized and all employees were friendly and helpful. Great service!!

Absolutely rude worker, had no patience at all with us, I didn’t know the name of a car part and my boyfriend didn’t know English and he tried hard to explain to him as well as I. A white mid aged my who has nothing going for his life cause all he accomplished in life is working at an auto zone. DO BETTER.

Daniel B , contacted him outside as I arrived. He had finished helping another customer and I explained I wanted my battery checked. I was on a phone call with someone from out of state . After confirming the battery was bad he got a print out of my options and then installed my selection.

Had an awesome experience because of Alexander N.! He was knowledgeable, honest, friendly, and professional while addressing my battery issue. He conducted a thorough diagnostic test, meticulously cleaned the battery, and retested it to ensure functionality. Great employee that went above and beyond. Highly recommend!

Definitely a 5 stars service! Mr. Rob was super kind by phone helping me to find a part for my car and also hold it because it was the last part available and I needed drive over a hour and half to get it. In the store, him and Mr. Jay served very well, patiently and politely.

Every time I go into this store the workers there greet me with big smiles on there faces but there’s this one worker named Casey who I have to say goes out her way to make sure a customer leaves happy with her bubbly personality I’ve been in this store twice and every time I come in she immediately greets me with a warm welcome makes me feel like family instead of a customer I love when she is working She’s funny and very professional and she is very smart! I was having a horrible morning my battery needed to be replaced and where my battery is at it’s hard to get to but she went out of her way to make sure I got a new battery installed into my car and had me and my daughter laughing the whole time, best employee I have ever met at an autozone! This girl deserves a promotion! Kyra the manager was also a great help and so was the man I can’t remember his name. I appreciate each and everyone of them! I will definitely keep coming back to this autozone!!

I visited this particular Auto Zone looking for new windshield wipers. A young man named Tyler helped me. He was very professional & courteous. He found what I was looking for & put the new wipers on my car!! Tyler is truly as asset to your company!! 👍👍👍

This particular location of Auto Zone has the most professional employees. I have gone to several locations near me, but hand downs this one has the most knowledgeable, friendly people working there. I needed help with an item, had questions/concerns so a young man named Tyler helped me. He was courteous, patient, very friendly, but most importantly....knowledgeable. My time, like most is limited due to work/home etc. so getting help fast, and having someone who is that helpful in my opinion is just extremely on point with customer care, customer service. Huge THANK YOU to Tyler and everyone else at this Auto Zone!!! You ALL are the BEST!!!! : ) : )

I have several classic cars and keeping them run in A1 condition is always a challenge. I visit the Auto Zone store in New Bern 1211 US HY 70 E. Store 6746. An engine light went on my 2000 jag XK8. Bobby cam out to my car and check the code on his scanner. He gave great advice for this car and others we discussed. Not many stores can compare to top quality and knowledge of the two people I met today at this 6746. His associate was just as nice and accommodating. Very clean and well stocked location in new Bern/ James city. They always have what I need or can get it in a day or so. The staff here are very helpful and will try to get you any discount they can. They do not mind looking up parts and will definitely get the right part choose this location over others.

Greg and Sean were very helpful. Had to come in and buy an alternator and when leaving, my truck died at the entrance. Unable to restart it, Greg helped me push the truck out of the way. Had to replace the alternator there in the parking lot. Whenever Sean walked by he would check in making sure it was going OK. Once the replacement was in, Greg came and helped jump the truck with the jump pack while we had a car also hooked up. Greg also pointed out things that he recommended to replace. All in all, they were very helpful.

We needed to have our battery changed and the Manager identified two other issues that needed repairs. The parts couldn't be purchased through auto zone so he pointed us to another source ensuring us they wouldn't take us to the bank so to say. Thank you for a fantastic memory of the level of service provided. Always my first stop from now on.

I came in looking for a headlight bulb for my car and asked the workers if they could help install it after I purchased it. I was unfamiliar with how to install one and was in a hurry to drive somewhere that night. Luckily, the guy working was willing to help and even answered questions as I watched him install the new bulb. I'm very grateful for the help.

Needed new windshield wipers spoke with the sales women gave her make and model within in 5mins had the correct wipers for my Vehicle and gave me a choice of manufacturers and price and installed the wipers. Highly Recommend. Excellent Service knowledgeable and Helpful!!

One of my low beams went out, I went to get my lights replaced. They were kind enough to help me put them in. But once they were in they did nothing at all, I still have no headlights. I've been forced to drive around with my brights on because of this. I called the store to let them know I had a problem with the bulbs I purchased and they told me to bring it in and that they would look at it. When I arrived to have them look at it they acted like they didn't know what was going on and refused to help me. One guy even said "headlights oh I'm not touching that" this has been the worst experience ever. When I go to advanced auto parts this does not happen to me, they want to help me there not here. Never returning wasted 66$ on bulbs that dont work. Terrible customer service. My boyfriend had to go in there and talk to them for me and they actually helped him guess they're sexist to.

I called and asked if they could check my battery, a young man ,who I think was named Adam but I am not sure, answered and said yes. I told him I was disabled and had a hard time walking he said just call when you get here and I will come out. I called, then realized I was at an Advance Auto down the road. He called me back and said he did not see me, I told him what I had done and that I would be right there. He came out and checked my battery it was bad, he went and got me prices for batteries, came back, I picked one. He went and got it, changed it out in 10 minutes and took my money inside, came back with my change and paperwork. Car started right up. I never had to get out of the car. Great service and he had a very helpful and polite attitude the whole time, from the first phone to the very end. I will drive to James City to use this Autozone from now on. Thank you so very much.
