I recently got stuck. The local sheriff called Jim's to come winch me out. The truck arrived within 20 minutes. The driver refused to use the vehicle manufacturer's tow hook, but instead hooked onto my left front wheel support and winched me sideways, which altered my front end alignment, resulting in the need for a front end alignment that would not have been necessary if the tow hook had been used. This cost me about an additional $100. When the driver presented me the bill, he refused to take my credit card, and insisted that he could only accept cash. Since I didn't have enough cash on hand to pay the bill, he insisted that his only option then was to take my vehicle. He also told me that since this was a Friday after business hours, the soonest I could retrieve my vehicle was the following Monday. When I arrived to retrieve my vehicle the following Monday, despite the fact that the business stated that they opened at 8 am, the person with the keys to enable me to get to my vehicle didn't arrive until about 8:30 am. Since he took my vehicle, the bill I was required to pay to retrieve my vehicle was more than twice the winch charge that he asked for when he winched me out. I paid the bill using my credit card without issue. This company's business practices cost me significantly more than the value of the service provided.
I had gotten into an accident on route 31 I had called triple a and it had been about 30 min the cops showed up after I was done with them the truck came and he loaded it up and was suppose to be taking it to my house come to find out I called triple a and asked where my car was and turns out it was jims towing the guy didn't mention he was called by the onondaga county sherriffs or that he wasn't with triple a or that he was going to charge me 320$ for the tow but I found that out 10 min after we left so I called jims and told them can he bring it to my house and they said no he was already there and unloaded I even offered to pay extra to get it to my house and they just said nope and in the rudest way and had to pay to have it be delivered to my house I have had nothing but a horrible experience with them would not recommend.
I got into an accident and called AAA for a tow . My vehicle was not in the road in the way at all . These guys showed up and loaded my car onto the flat bed when I realized they weren’t aaa I asked them to remove my car I already called for a tow he told me the cops called him but that’s a lie because I spoke with the cop and they were fine with me calling my own tow since I wasn’t in the road. They charged me 300$ for basically stealing my car and driving 4 miles to their shop. They’re scumbags
Called for an estimate for a tow 13.2 miles and the man that answered was very short with me, like I was bothering him, then snickered rudely at me when I told him the location. Quoted 300 and couldn't even give me a specific time her could even get the car!!! I'll never call this shop again.
Jim’s Service Center is without a doubt the best shop i have done business with!! I have been taking my truck there for years now and wouldn't even consider taking it elsewhere. They are dependable, reliable, knowledgeable and do really great work.They always go the extra mile. I could go on for days about them!!! Just really great people..Thank you Jim, Christina and rest of the staff for EVERYTHING!!
My girl was in a car accident. i was told that i could stop by at anytime to get our personal stuff out of the truck it cost 400 bucks just to even get the stuff not a gd experience
amount to fix car changed by a few hundred dollars, more than doubled that amount for my son's car. Had to bring car back as it wasn't fixed properly.....ehhh
Quick response time and very helpful. Took the time to try to get the vehicle in an operable state to prevent having to get towed. Unsuccessful, but I appreciated the attempt.
