I cannot say enough good things about Chris Hughes and the work he does.
Chris moved my manufactured home, and the entire process was handled with professionalism and care. After the home was placed, another worker pointed out a busted sewer pipe underneath. I knew this was not Chris’s fault—it was related to the setup—but I called him to share my concern.
Without hesitation, Chris stepped up and did the right thing. He simply asked what it would cost to fix, and when I told him $450, he immediately sent me the money. He absolutely did not have to do that. There was no way I could have proven responsibility, but that didn’t matter to him. That kind of integrity is rare these days.
Chris is truly a man of his word. He is responsible, professional, and genuinely cares about his customers. He’s also incredibly responsive—he even answers calls after hours, which speaks volumes about his dedication.
If you’re looking for someone to move your manufactured home, Chris is the person you want. I would trust him again without hesitation. Thank you, Chris, for going above and beyond!
I had an excellent experience using Hughes Haulage for a dumpster rental. The communication and professionalism from first message to dumpster pick up was amazing. Responded promptly to every question or concern. They were accommodating in rescheduling drop-off date. I let them know morning of that the dumpster was full and ready for pick up, they arrived before end of day to tow it away. No issues, no fuss. This was a painless experience, and I will certainly be using them in the future. Thanks again!
I do not recommend this haulage company. We were/are working on an overwhelming house clean out, I always try to recognize great service. The office manager is good, she's following the orders of the owner and it's likely that I am emotional because of the enormity of what we are doing and the fact that we've been working in mid 90's weather. We contracted out three dumpsters; $824, $658, $640 for a total of $2,121.
The agreement was 10 day usage. For the 30 yarder I called to see if it was alright to go beyond the 10 days and the office manager said 'fine'. On day 16 I called for them to pickup and we made arrangements to order another one.
The second dumpster was delivered which was the week of the mid 90's heat wave. The company picked up the dumpster on day 10 with no notification and we were only 1/3 full. I talked with the office manager and she asked why no one came out of the house to stop him (because no one was home). She apologized, we argued back and forth, about the 10 days, agreed the heat was unbearable and the heat was affecting their business as well, the fact they did not charge extra for the first one (which I told her we would have gladly paid). I asked for a discount, she said she'd talk to the boss.
I ordered another dumpster. There was no discount for the 2nd, we spoke again and she explained this is how they make their living (no argument there) and it was 10 days. I remarked it would have been a good business move to give me a courtesy call. She did make a courtesty call for the 3rd dumpster which was appreciated so that we could plan accordingly.
I've now contracted a 4th dumpster with Royal Carting who ASSURED me that there would be no surprise pickups without a courtesty call. THAT is great business.
Well, I will add a few more things, today, for Hughes Haulage (8/17/25): The owner is vindictive because I gave a bad review. Surprise, surprise, I received an email today with an additional charge for the overage days in the 30 yard dumpster, even though the office manager stated in July that they did not charge us. For the first time today they emailed me their contract ( which they did not do the first three deliveries). The owner also has a temper which resorts to him to tell me I need mental health help. Yes, it is an emotional experience to clean out the home in 90 degree weather of a loved one who has just died. I do not agree by Hughes statement that the owner is professional but I WILL ABIDE BY MY WORD TO THE OFFICE MANAGER WHEN I TOLD HER I WOULD BE HAPPY TO HAVE PAID THE OVERAGE (even though she told me she did NOT charge me) . It's not about who is cheapest, it's about good reliable service with no suprises. Royal Carting fully explained the terms, assured me I would get a courtesty call, there would be no surprise pickups and the price for time beyond the rental time. It's just good business and I wish I had contacted them first during this difficult time in our lives.
Hughes Haulage was very easy to work with. Briana was knowledgeable and helpful every step along the way. They were also the most competitively priced that I found in the area.
This is the 3rd dumpster we have gotten from Hughes. They always have the best price and great at communicating. We will highly recommend their service.
Tried to charge me a cancellation fee when they didnt even show up with my dumpster. Lost an entire day of work because “first thing in the morning” means 3pm to these people

My first experience with hughs was really good and I had nothing but good things to say about them the first time I needed to have a pickup done
However
When I had just asked for a quote for a 10 yard roll off they quoted me at 425 and I ended up going with AAA cause they were cheaper
Cut to a few days later when they see the AAA roll off in my yard they text me out of the blue and say
"Was aaa cheaper than us ? lol"
I had said "yeah sorry" to then be texted this
"I should've charged you more for those garbage bags . No good deed goes unpunished"
Very unprofessional will never be using them again

To all the readers that have read the response
My house was not flooded
My ceiling wasn't falling down
And
Debris was NOT all over my yard it was neatly placed on a retaining wall next to my house in bags
And it was insulation so it was light
I had to remove insulation from my ceiling because mice had died in it and that was information that the hughs was aware of in my phone call to them for the first job
AAA charged me 250 which is not "slightly" cheaper
If they wanted to ask what I got it for and ask what they could do in the future to keep my business would have been relieved alot better
Not to mention they took the time to drive to my house and scope it out when it's off the beaten path
Yes I am close but they had no reason to pass my house
Please know that the reply they made was a poor effort to save what little reputation they have left after I posted pictures of a text thread

I’m a Real Estate Agent. Hughes Haulage was such a pleasure AND relief to work with when Briana and I negotiated an affordable price for the 3 dumpsters I would need to empty out my elderly clients’ home at in Wappingers before selling it. It is a relief to find human kindness in business today, existing side by side with efficiency and professionalism. They were prompt in delivering and collecting the dumpsters exactly when they said they would and immediately responsive to each of my calls during the process. Their driver was pleasant and courteous when we met for the first 7:00am drop off— not at all a sour or grumpy person that you might expect given the nature of his hard work. Employees like him represent their company’s brand well!

They charge me almost 1700 for 20yards dumpster, for 20 days, I’m in the busssines for almost 15 years and is the first time I paid so much for a dumpster… be careful with this company
I will use Hughes for all of my big clean out jobs in the future. They swapped out 3 dumpsters for me in 2 days. They answer the phone every time I call. I really appreciate their hard work. Thank you.
I ordered a 20 yard dumpster for a clean out of my home, when I called the woman( I am sorry forgot the name) was amazing friendly and the price was good. I ordered the dumpster and it came on the date I asked. What’s good, . When I was done they picked it up and there was no mess or anything. I would use them again
In preparation of selling our house we needed to clear out some clutter and Hughes was the first place I called and I couldn't be happier they were. Briana was absolutely awesome, understanding and lightened our stress load. Reliable. The delivery drivers were respectful and courteous of our lawn. Thank you Hughes!
This business should be shut down.
They are total scam artists. They dropped the dumpster off with the entrance of the dumpster on a cliff (picture attached) When my workers called to have it moved for safety reasons they came out and moved it and never said a word about charging to move it then charged my card without permission $175 for a trip fee to move it. I nicely called and emailed them and was lied to and told this was the safest spot to place the dumpster and i would not be refunded the trip charge. They purposely did this to charge the extra $175 and they know it. PLEASE BE AWARE
