had a great experience at Marist University. The professors are supportive and truly care about students’ success. The students have great personalities and create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The campus is beautiful, and the learning environment is positive and motivating.

There is a lack of concern for students' mental health at Marist College. Despite maintaining a 3.6 GPA, I had to leave during my senior year because my mental health had deteriorated significantly. I put in a lot of effort to feel connected to the Marist community but encountered obstacles along the way. On top of that, Meal Services are both overpriced and of poor quality. The area surrounding the college is also unsafe for pedestrians and I was even hit by a car in the area once before. Don't go here if you're not a white person. The staff and administration won't care about you and your mental health even a little bit. If I could give this university 0 stars I would.

Just want to congratulate the school on a excellent hire of Coach Audino, on the Football staff. He was my mentor for LaSalle Football. He is a great leader of young men. I wish him well on his new journey where he belongs. The college level. Good Luck Coach.

It's very walkable and nice but if you are driving your car when all the students are going to class it can be difficult to navigate one area in particular

High value for the money. Cutting edge technology and education. I graduated in the early 90’s and the college was great then but it’s amazing how it has grown but maintains its intimate and special culture. This is a place you want to be a part of if you’re looking to grow up and realize your full potential.

With the COVID-19 Pandemic that plagued us in 2020/2021, I really can't speak too much about the college. As a dad, the few parents I spoke with at Marist are moving their kids out and the kids seemed unhappy saying they couldn't wait to get home. Apparently, some had such a bad experience they are not coming back. With two to a room, they felt trapped in their 20x12, no A/C cellblock dorm room. It's a nice campus overlooking the Hudson River but the campus layout is built on a slope "hilly area" and there's not much to do outside school events unless you like to walk or hike. You could travel to downtown Poughkeepsie by Uber or bus, however, it's not the safest college town to be in. I guess being locked up with no activities and not really getting the chance to meet new friends can result in anxiety and negative impressions for first-year students. I'm sure all colleges faced the same struggles with COVID-19 and lockdowns on students, however, Marist is definitely stricter than most schools which is good for parents but apparently, isn't good for every kid, especially the outgoing type. The US Department of Education 2021 public data and American School Search, gives this school grade an "F" on safety and list's as dangerous for students on and off campus. But please do your own "due diligence" and research to decide whether this is concerning for you and your child.

Marist college is the definition of superficial. This school only cares about their outward appearance. If you’re rich and white, disregard this review. Professors have been outwardly racist on many occasions with no repercussions. Many meetings with Kevin Weinman and multiple empty promises later, and they still get away with it. Students are no exception with many white students making nasty comments and acts against students of color. If you love the bar and being the star of the show, you’d love Marist social life. For the more laid back types, prepare to be an outcast. “Top 5 in study abroad programs” excludes the “if you study in Florence” fine print. I’ve studied abroad twice and went in blindly for both. I was met with HUGE disappointments my second time around with nothing more than practiced apologies and many justifications for every issue. Marist only cares about its pride and joy Florence program. Don’t fall for the lies. On the other hand, many of my professors have been very good and enthusiastic on their topic. Campus is very pretty though the food is utter trash. Dorms are pretty nice starting in sophomore or junior year.

What a gorgeous campus. A marriage of historic and modern. The classrooms are just right for the size of the class. Good technology.

Unsafe environment and reckless dishonest management. My daughter was chased down by a car and almost kidnapped, yes kidnapped by a gang right inside Marist Campus grounds and had to hide between bushes for her safety. She called security and 911. Marist security dismissed her cry for help as a prank and told the authorities it was under control. Without help she and her friend ran for safety and barely made it. Later, when confronted their head of security, John Blaisdell, claimed their security cameras were performing system maintenance at the time and could not retrieve neither campus camera footage nor the recorded phone call to security of that incident. It appears he was drilled to lie. He did admit, however, that after conducting an investigation, she and her friend had been randomly targeted by a mob they were tracking. Needless to say, my daughter and her companion are severely traumatized and no longer students in that sham institution. Their management attitude towards the incident was unsympathetic and self-serving. Good luck finding someone who cares.

Marist College does not care about student athletes mental health. From the President down to the Coaching staff they just don't care. NCAA recruiting violations have been swept under the carpet and bad coaches are offered a chance to resign before being fired for fear of bad press.

I love it. It's big, very beautiful view. Has a lot of majors, dual majors, accelerated programs, study abroad programs, takes other colleges credits. Not so much with diversity. Dorms are nice, a lot of different choices in food for people with allergies and special diets. Overall I loved it.

I only come here to pick up zipcars. That process is pretty easy. Don't know much about the actual school, but they were shut down because their students don't know how to adhere to simple regulations ??♀️ So 5 stars for zipcar 3 stars for the actual school, based solely on what i know.

My son is attending Marist going into his junior year. We are thrilled, and so is he, with Marist. Beautiful campus. Great Teachers and Faculty. I read here where some people complain about teachers not giving more time to their child. Seems this student was having a hard time and saw the teacher weekly and thinks the teacher let them down. Was told that they should consider a tutor and now blames the teacher for their failure. Teachers are not tutors. And maybe this student just wasn't cut out for their wanted profession. Another blaming security because their student lost a book. How is it the responsibility of security to find it if its not turned in? There's nothing they can do. Just because you're on a campus it doesn't guarantee success or all students are honest. It's the real world. Can't stand it when people blame others for their child's irresponsibility or inability to grasp a subject. My son's major is biomedical science as he wants to be a doctor. Last years class on organic chemistry "is the weeding out class." 80% of the students either drop out on their own or the professor speaks with them to encourage them to find another profession because their failing. If my son was told that, I'm not blaming the professor. He'd have to accept that it's not for him and to find another profession. Nobody said life's fair. So take responsibility for yourself. Marist is a great college.

My daughter got accepted into the Marist fashion merchandising program back in 2018. She enjoyed all of her classes until she had to take a digital fashion drawing class. My daughters professor work with her every week to get her assignments done correctly until her professor said, “Have you considered a tutor?” My daughter got so upset about that. Financially we couldn’t afford extra tutor fees with the tuition expense already. The fashion professor lost interest of helping her during office hours outside of class. I am very upset with Marist College in this situation. She unfortunately failed the class and had to drop out due to the awful terrible unprofessional professor. Thanks again.....

My wife went to college here. We visited the campus when her friend came in from out of town. I was blown away with how clean and gorgeous this campus is.

My daughter took a class here. She loved it. It is an amazing school. Students are friendly and the campus has beautiful views of the Hudson. Unlike many colleges where the teaching assistants teach at Marist College professors teach.

Amazing school. The students are great, the professors teach you a lot, and you have some of the best views in the Hudson Valley on campus.

The worst college in admission I have ever seen. the people at admission office make admission complicated. If you want to register at Marest avoid old people and speak with someone else because the elderly forget too much.

My daughter and son both attended Marist College (2012 and 2014)... They loved the school. Their professors seems to really care and they received a quality education... The campus is beautiful. My daughter went on to NYU for a Master's and my son will be attending Yale in the fall...

Hi everyone, I can give "Marist a five star, but, not so fast. It;s been bugging me for years now, I have to get ii off my chest. My son lost his 'Text rental book. It was forgotten in one of the buildings. It never showed up in the Lost and found. So, many attempts, I have mad with the security office..Not to mention, that the girls who worked there, are so nasty and foolish in the way of handling things,. Just simply, does not understand what has been said, keeps referring you from one person to t he next. Finally, cutting you off. No one, seem to know. where is this book. Humm.. So, Marist has many 'Sticky Fingers,. Then, Its the 'Professors' who are so nasty and not 'Fair'. Some of them, bring there personal problems and just dish it out on the students. They are so full of it. It was a mistake to have my son there, but, soon , he will be out. Shame on you , "Marist. It would be a miracle if tis book shows up.

I'm currently in my second semester in Marist's online IS masters program. I'm enjoying it, and the professors I've had so far have been good. The curriculum is timely and appropriate. I spent a lot of time researching what kind of online program I wanted. Foremost, I wanted a curriculum that would challenge me and provide me with useful knowledge. My second priority was to find a college or university that has a great reputation and that would look good on paper (resume). My third priority was cost. For masters programs at colleges around the country, there's generally 3 pricing levels: $350-$500 per credit, $700-$800 per credit, and $1000+ per credit. Marist is in the middle, in term of price, and overall, I feel like it's a good value. I considered the pricier schools (Carnegie, Harvard, Purdue, etc), and I felt like Marist's value was as good as the schools that cost 50% more. Overall, they've got a great program and provide good value, so I feel like I've made the right decision choosing Marist

One of America's Best College for your buck! Located in the historic Hudson River Valley region along the historic Hudson River. A great place to get an education and to make lifetime friends.

Attending Marist College was truly one of the best decisions I've made. The faculty, the students...I don't think I could put into words what this school meant (and still means) to me. Small campus yet big enough to find the experiences you need to set yourself up for life. An incredible and loyal alumni network to help you after graduation. All wrapped into one of the most beautiful campuses you will ever see.
